Many roads I have walked So many thoughts have filled my mind "The words I speak hold nothing but truth"
Feeling dead isn't bad to tell the truth. Really Rabba wasn't feeling anything at all because he was unconscious. He was just in a domain of black sleep feeling nothing as he pretty much just died. Blood was beginning to clot in his wounds and on his fur in thick mats as the sun was beginning to flee over the sky and it grew darker along with colder. The tide was rising and the waves which had just touched his paws now was up to his shoulders, hips, and neck. Every time the tide came in he was lifted and floated a bit. The cold water was freezing the poor cats body was shaking not helping the fact he had lost more blood than was good for him.
Rabba was unconscious, cold, with a cracked leg, and he had lost a lot of blood. He needed something to wake him up, he needed someone to shake him, make him get up, help him up and home where food and healing was. As unlucky as it seemed Rabba really did have luck was on his side. He hadn't drifted out where sharks could get a hold on him, his wounds had clot to stop bleeding, and he wasn't yet dead. So on his side, eyes closed, head just out of the reaches of the water and legs out to the side Rabba was just waiting for an angel or two.

Like most days, it hadn't been all that exciting for Tiki. After eating he went straight to jogging around the city to stay fit. After a few hours, he ate again, starting the cycle again. Eat, jog, eat, run, eat, swim.. That's why he'd come to Rib Bay, so swim.
As he padded over to the water, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He looked over to the dark shape and tilted his head. What was it? A rock or a log? No.. it had legs, a tail, ears. A body? Trying not to panic, Tiki slowly crept over to the shape. Standing over it, he was able to make out what it was. A cat, a leopard. Not just any leopard though. It was Rabba, the Lexis Deputy.
Fear shot through Tiki. "Oh god, is he dead? Are you dead?" He barked, nosing the feline. And what was that scent? "Crap, he's bleeding. He's bleeding and dying." He paced in a circle around Rabba a few times. He stopped when he saw the cat's back leg. "God, legs aren't supposed to look like that." He whispered.
He went over to Rabba's head. "Rabba!" He barked. "Rabba, wake up. Please wake up. I don't want to have to be the one to tell the entire Tribe that their Deputy is dead! Come on, don't die!" He continued walking in circles, unsure of what to do.
"Um.. water. Water. I need to get you away from this cold water." Tiki decided. He went over to Rabba's head, clamped his teeth into the cat's scruff, and began dragging him away from the water. He kept his eyes closed, just in case moving him did something to make him loose more blood.
Once they were a safe distance away, Tiki put Rabba down. "Who did this? What did this?" He said to himself, sitting beside the black cat's head.

It was cold. Despite it being spring time, night had descended unseen like a disease on Hexasol, choking out the light and suffocating the warmth that had existed earlier in the day. Still, it could've been worse, and, being a snow leopard, the thick coat made it bearable. It was like a freaking desert compared to Strangler's Mountains in the winter, anyhow. Despite it being a bit nippy, the sky was clear, no clouds around to cover the sadistically glinting stars that loomed oh-so pretentiously over the city. Honestly, Jinxer was pretty happy to have gotten out of the main city area for a night. It had gotten rather drab... He needed a more exciting life. Perhaps intruding on Lexis territory was just the way to do it.
The white creature moved along through the night, certain that nothing was around to hinder his progression, so he didn't bother swinging his head like a damn snake to see what was going on. Besides, if he crashed into something, no one would see. At least, that's what he told himself. What were the chances that anyone would be around to see him smack head-first into something a blind cub could've seen coming a mile away? Unfortunately, they were pretty good. Fortunately, however, there was nothing to crash into. Nothing but the two creatures a short distance away.
It was at the small canine's first bark of fear that Jinxer's white ears first perked up, a curiosity spreading over his face. What was there, making that sound? A dog, dipshit, the leopard sneered inwardly. He rolled his one glowing icy eye and gazed on through the darkness, squinting a bit to focus on the dog and whatever it was yipping at. The leopard parted his lips to take in the scents of the air. Two Lexis members, if his scenting skills weren't rusty (and he knew they weren't since he'd been shuffling on through their territory like some sneaky little fuck for an hour now) - one canine and one feline. There was the eternally familiar stank of blood as well.
What had happened that there was blood? Was one of them bleeding? From where and why? The panic in the dog's voice suggested that he was about as clueless as the leopard was. Jinxer moved a bit closer, shrinking down a little bit while still trying to catch a better glimpse of the situation. The dog muttered something about getting the cat away from the water, and Jinxer watched as the little thing dragged the unconscious body from where it had been resting limply in the icy water. Curiosity and concern gnawed for several moments at Jinxer's thick fur until finally he made his move.
The feline strode off across the sand, a bit of a haste in his step as he moved towards the pair. Jinxer's voice called out into the crystal clear night, "You've gotta warm him up, buddy." He stopped once he was standing a few meters away from the canine who stood quite a bit taller than himself, his head low and his tail touching the ground to appear as non-threatening as possible. "He won't last long like that if you let him freeze to death. Need a paw? I've got warmth to spare."

Many roads I have walked So many thoughts have filled my mind "The words I speak hold nothing but truth"
The peace of being unconscious was slowly shattering. Something, someone was penetrating his black warm blanket of peace. Muffled murmurs of fuzzy words echoed around him. Only a few words where clear enough for him to make any sense of. “Dead.......Bleeding... Dying,” a males voice rang around him clearly panicked. Dying? Was he dying? He didn't hurt but it was getting very very cold. What had happened? Why is this man so alarmed? He didn't know where he was, who he was, or what was going on but oddly he wasn't alarmed by any of it.
“Rabba!” Suddenly startled he was awake. He could feel cold at first, then wet, and then he remembered everything. Someone had called his name and now he was rambling about the tribe and him dying. He tried to open his eyes and tried to speak but he could do nothing. His tail, his paws, his face was all completely numb and the rest he of him felt like it was like it was floating. Rabba heard splashing around him and more words but had a hard time focusing.
He was in water but how did he get there? Teeth dug into his scruff pulling him and as soon as his leg touched ground Rabba let out a blood chilling scream of agony. He tensed trying to help with his front legs to move them along but they were like jelo. His attempts did no good because all he did was have his legs flail a little but be couldn't do a damn thing. The cuts in his shoulder, and punctures in his leg were soft from the last water but it was also that which had caused it to clot. He was no longer bleeding thank goodness but that didn't mean it didn't hurt terribly. The crack in the bone was the worst. The adrenaline in his system had acted as a morphine at first but that was gone now. Every movement of that leg, ever touch of it to the ground was like breaking it all over again.
Now down on the ground Rabba heaved for breath panting heavy. Opening his eyes with a lot of effort he was able to get them open enough to see the hazy vision of a canine. Questions buzzed in his ears like bees and as he looked at the fuzzy canine he became a bit clearer. “Wh-who are you?” he asked with a raspy weak voice. Blinking a few times he finally was able to get a clear view. “Tiki?” He asked with a relieved smile. Rabba sighed in relief. “Tiki,” he murmured closing his eyes with a soft relieved and grateful smile. He knew this doberman. He was a good dog, a kind dog and Rabba was a friend to him. He was a savior.
Again the poor cat could feel himself slipping. “Tiki...lion...ess...... white...... Tiki,” his voice pleaded. Rabba had lost a lot of blood, was in a lot of pain, and had hypothermia. It was not looking good for him. All of it was working against him to cause him to black out once again.
When a new voice arrive Rabba tried to open his eyes but only got a sliver of view. He could only see a fuzz of white in the dark with the outline of what could only be a large feline. The voice was not familiar, he couldn't smell him, he hoped Tiki would know who this was.

Tiki jumped a little when Rabba moved. "Wh-who are you? Tiki? Tiki."
"Yes!" Tiki barked. "It's Tiki! Come on, stay awake. What happened? Who did this?"
"Tiki...lion...ess...... white...... Tiki,"
Tiki was shaking as Rabba's words slowly faded away. The cat was still breathing, but Tiki wasn't sure how long it was going to stay that way. "Lioness? White.. A white lioness?" He wondered. He didn't know any lion, let alone a white one. Well, beside Panja, but Rabba said lioness.
Tiki jumped more when another voice entered the scene. He looked up from his Deputy and saw another cat, a snow leopard. From his scent, he guessed the cat was a loner. He thought about asking the cat who he was, but he didn't have time. "Yes! Yes, please help." He begged. Feeling stupid about not thinking of it himself, he lied down next to Rabba as close as he could get without touching any of the bad injuries.
Tiki turned to the newcomer. "Do you know of any white lioness'?" He asked. At this point, he was desperate for any help he could get. It could have been a bear offering his help and he would have accepted.
"I-I'm Tiki, by the way. Who might you be?" He stuttered. He noticed his voice, along with his body, was shaking and he was having trouble controlling it. He had never been this scared before. He used to be a guard dog, blood and injuries were supposed to scare him like this. Maybe it was because he respected and cared for Rabba more than he did the thieves and strangers that wondered into his yard.

As the leopard had begun his approach, he'd paid careful mind to the situation; his ears were trained on their voices, the terrified voice of the canine and the soft and pained, if not a bit dreamy, voice of the injured feline. The current situation looked rather grave for the freezing and broken cat, and Jinxerbee knew that, even if the dog accepted the help of some random stranger, things might not ever look up for the poor hurt creature. Everything was working against him - night, cold, blood loss. Lord knew how long the thing'd been limp in the water before the dog had run up and pulled it out, and even then, the blood that hung in the air showed that the creature would quickly fade whether something was done or not.
As Jinxer had arrived at their side, he'd heard the feline - apparently a leopard of some sort by the name of Rabba - murmur something. To the snowy cat, it was inaudible, at first, but the canine, oblivious at the time of Jinxer's arrival on the scene, repeated in a rather terrified and befuddled voice, "Lioness? White.. A white lioness?" The ears perked up on the top of Jinxerbee's head angled backwards a bit as his gears began to turn. A white lioness had attacked this feline? Who? Why? He didn't have time to think on it for long; his voice had rang out into the darkness and immediately caught the frightened dog's ears.
At his offer for help, the dog, whose name was Tiki, responded in a voice shrill with desperation, "Yes! Yes, please help." Before Jinxer could make another move, the dog had wrapped itself loosely around Rabba, trying in a rather futile attempt to keep him warm. It was good that Tiki was taking his advice and trying to keep him warm while also being considerate of the cat's sensitive and aching body, but at a desperate time like this, being tentative and considerate would do nothing. "Right now is the time to be abrasive. He's lost blood... He needs warmth. The blood that he has needs to get flowing soon."
He couldn't get to his point before the dog turned to him and asked, "Do you know of any white lioness'?" Jinxer thought on it as quickly as he could, though he found it an asinine time to be asking questions. He nodded once, a bit of a scowl on his face. "I knew one - a violent bitch named Icefang. An Iris Pride fuck." The disdain in his voice was apparent, especially in the way he spoke of her. "I wouldn't know if she's the only one here, however. I haven't seen many of the felines in Hexasol in over a year."
The dog spoke again, confirming what Jinxerbee had originally picked up in the conversation. "I-I'm Tiki, by the way. Who might you be?" The snow leopard narrowed his eyes, taking a long look over the canine. He didn't respond with his name, instead stating, "Tiki, I need you to calm down. Rabba needs you. Take a step back for a second; I'll work on getting Rabba warm and dry. Take some breaths. Get your feet under you. Recover from your shock. I know this must be a frightening situation, but Rabba can't afford for you to panic."
Gently, Jinxer attempted to nudge Tiki away from Rabba. With any luck, the dog would understand the snow leopard's intentions and move away for Jinxer to lay down and wrap his own body and thick coat around the feline while vigorously licking him, avoiding any tender areas and places that needed the clots of blood on the fur. "My name is Jinxerbee. You and Rabba Lexis Tribe?"

Many roads I have walked So many thoughts have filled my mind "The words I speak hold nothing but truth"
Everything was fuzzy for the downed leopard. Words, images, everything to him was just a blur, all of it very unclear. Laying in the sand body pulsating with heat waves of pain but also having prickles of ice in every inch of his skin. Rabba was freezing cold and in pain but there was nothing he could do. The old deputy of the Lexis tribe's fate rest on the souls of two very different people.
Eyes closed resting he tried to listen to them knowing that they were talking about something of importance by their tones. A moment of eavesdropping he concluded it was about him and helping him which he was grateful for but thats all he could get out of it. Tiki would help he knew that but this dog was to soft for this. He was a kind soul and the old leopard knew he was panicked by the current situation. This poor canine probably was so freaked by the event it would take weeks for him to recover emotionally.
Again they talked words unintelligible to his ears. It wasn't long after Rabba felt a warmth behind him. It didn't hurt his injury but to the just about frozen cat Tiki's heat felt was as if his fur had been lit on fire. Growling softly in a whine of pain Rabba rolled his head down into the sand to muffle the sound. When Tiki moved away and his heat with him Rabba sighed but his warmth lingered like a pleasant after taste.
After mere seconds of the small patch of him warm and it quickly fading something else moved. Opening his eyes he tried to see who was near but couldn't until Jinx had wrapped himself around smaller Rabba. Hissing softly in pain of the heat he tensed but didn't move away or try. This feline was helping him. He was warming the frozen leopard, helping him. This close Rabba could hear his name and the other cats name being spoken. “Y-yes... that’s my name...... Thank-... thank you Jinxer...bee...” he muttered softly.

"I knew one - a violent bitch named Icefang. An Iris Pride fuck. I wouldn't know if she's the only one here, however. I haven't seen many of the felines in Hexasol in over a year."
"Icefang? Icefang, Icefang.... Rabba! Rabba, was it Icefang?" Tiki hadn't the slightest clue who this Icefang was. He recalled hearing the name once or twice, but never payed it any attention. The canine looked over to the grey leopard. "In over a year? Did you leave?" He asked with a high pitched voice.
"Tiki, I need you to calm down. Rabba needs you. Take a step back for a second; I'll work on getting Rabba warm and dry. Take some breaths. Get your feet under you. Recover from your shock. I know this must be a frightening situation, but Rabba can't afford for you to panic."
The Doberman nodded rapidly a few times before standing and backing away from Rabba and the snow leopard. The feline was right; him panicking wasn't going to help anybody. He began pacing around the two leopards, taking deep breaths and telling himself everything was going to be alright. Though he knew the situation could get bad - or worse, in this case - he still kept trying to calm himself.
"My name is Jinxerbee. You and Rabba Lexis Tribe?"
"Y-yes... that’s my name...... Thank-... thank you Jinxer...bee..."
Tiki paused to stare at Rabba. He was still breathing, still alive, and he just spoke. "Yes, we are Lexis. Rabba here is our Deputy. And, I do not mean to sound.. rube, but where did you get your name? It's sort of strange." He said, his voice noticeably calmer than earlier. Shaking his head, Tiki padded over to a small puddle of water, making sure he was still in earshot of Jinxerbee. He lapped up some of the water, letting the freezing water sit in his mouth for a moment before swallowing. He took a few more drinks before walking back over to the cats and sitting down. "So, do you think his back leg is still going to work?" He asked, tilting his head and the bloody limb.

Rabba was phasing in and out of consciousness; he was trying to fight the cold that was seeping in, that much Jinxer knew. The leg looked pretty mangled. If it were as bad as it looked, chances are the little leopard-creature would never be able to use that leg to its full potential again. Jinxer hadn't bothered to be cautious and careful when he'd snuggled up around the cat; they didn't have time for it, as he'd stated. They couldn't afford to move Rabba, nor could they really afford to leave him here. Though the night was clear, it was also colder than such an injured body could handle.
At Jinxer's mention of Icefang, Tiki seemed to get all sorts of excited, springing up and down and repeatedly saying the name to himself and to Rabba, trying to get the leopard to respond to it. "Icefang? Icefang, Icefang.... Rabba! Rabba, was it Icefang?" The canine seemed desperate to put together this mystery, but before he could really piece together the puzzle, his shining and wild eyes were suddenly scanning Jinxerbee's thick white pelt. Though a bit unnerved by the scrutiny, Jinxer kept licking at Rabba's fur, avoiding the injury while still trying to keep the leopard's blood flowing.
"In over a year? Did you leave?" Tiki asked, regarding to Jinxer's comment about not knowing all the cats. Instead of responding, Jinx had made an effort to get the dog to back off and calm himself down. He seemed pretty cooperative, nodding vigorously and stepping back, pacing noisily through the sand, his stubby tail tucked close to his body. Jinxer's own tail moved against the sand, his only way to keep his own blood flowing. Thank God for his thick coat or he wouldn't have considered stopping to help this guy.
Jinxer didn't plan to return to Tiki's question about him leaving Hexasol. It wasn't leaving that was remarkable - it was him coming back that made all of this so stunning. Regardless, he had told them his name, and now Rabba was attempting to respond, his voice a quaking, stumbling slur. "Y-yes... that’s my name...... Thank-... thank you Jinxer...bee..." Jinxer pressed his muzzle to Rabba's forehead as a gesture of thanks and comfort. It was then that Tiki responded, stating their positions within the Lexis Tribe. Rabba was the Deputy? Well, damn. That made Jinx feel a bit more important now.
Then, Tiki asked something that Jinxer hadn't been expecting. "Where did you get your name?" The leopard let out a snort at that, licking Rabba's fur for several moments before responding, "I got it from humans. Lord knows why they say the dumb things they do." He wasn't about to say that he got his name because he was bad luck; "jinx" was his stigma, as well as his title. Tiki seemed satisfied, wandering off to get a drink of water before turning back and asking if Rabba's leg would still work.
Jinxer dared to turn so his one working eye could see the injury. The leopard could do nothing but shake his thick head, replying in a blunt voice, "I don't know. I will be hopeful, but we can't hold our breath. If it doesn't work, he's still got three good ones to work with. He'll have to adapt..." His own pessimism made him scowl, and he responded in a much lighter tone, "Perhaps it just looks worse than it is, though. I'm no doctor. Never had an injury that bad."

Many roads I have walked So many thoughts have filled my mind "The words I speak hold nothing but truth"
Warm body beside his own to keep those very important red blood cells moving in the same manner as cars on a highway as fast as they can go, Rabba was feeling more and more alive as the minuets ticked by. The blood loss was a great factor in keeping him down and so was the accumulating pain radiating from the break in his leg along with the unhelping cold but it was getting better, bit my bit. A heated tongue running over his pelt in almost a massaging way he tried to focus his best on the kind gesture given by an angel of kindness.
Words ran at him like a swarm of bees while the old man grabbed at them with all his might. It took him a moment to process the words but after a bit he could think about them long enough to respond. “I d-don't know...” Glancing sideways at Tiki he gave a soft smile. “It... It doesn't matter wh- what her name is. She... must have had... her reasons,” he murmured softly still with a smile. Rabba didn't hold grudges, didn't harbor hate, because that is not the way of their people.
Going quiet the old leopard just listened to the two talk with interest. Jinxerbee seemed to be an amazing individual with a past to match. “Please Tiki, leave him be. A mans past is his own,” he murmured softly nuzzling his cold nose into the cats thick fur. Kind as the white cat was and at ease in showing affection the leopard felt at ease and oddly safe. How could one even try to hate or even be cruel to this feline? Trying as best as possible to keep calm and keep his pain to a minimum and maybe even get comfortable Rabba listened on.
The talk of him loosing the leg caused the old cat to try to shut it out. Like a child he wished that the words would not come, that he could block them out. Losing a leg. What would that mean for him? How could one lead with three legs, how could one survive with only three legs? With a missing leg the leopard would be nothing but a burden to those around him, an old cat just laying around waiting to die. “I'll be...f-..... fine,” he muttered not wanting to say more because he knew how cheesy it sounded. No body wanted to hear that all would be well when everyone else knew it wouldn't be. The break wasn't bad enough for him to loose his leg but Rabba was never going to be the same leopard again.
