{ Gravity } A little push and the gates to the graveyard swung open, the rusty hinges creaking loudly like spirits shrieking in protest against this disturbance the intruders represented. Gravity only pushed the metal gates open far enough that they allowed his broad body to slip through, as he saw no reason to further violate the silence of the night, not to mention his poor ears. He stepped out into the street, and, feeling the presence of the female behind him, turned right. In a leisured pace he padded down the road, paws habitually finding the safe parts of the concrete, avoiding the spots where weather and nature had broken the rock in cracks - long wounds that in the time of the humans would've been healed instantly, but now were allowed to fester and grow. The wolf knew that in the end, Mother Nature would take back what belonged to her, and the cities of the humans would fall into ruins as they returned to the womb from which they came. Just yet another ancient civilization made extinct. The Warden found that he held no sorrow and had no tears to shed, for the two-legged beings that had caged and killed so many of his kin.
The timber wolf was pulled out of his thoughts as he realized something seemed amiss. He stopped and tilted his head slightly, as if trying to hear which oddity it was that drawn the attention of his subconsciousness. Then it dawned on him - the silence. He looked over his shoulder, and sure, there she was. Amazing! With a lopsided grin he shook his head slightly. "That's it? No sharp remarks, no taunting questions, no demands to know where we're going? My my, you do actually have some control over that tongue of yours. Impressive." His voice as solemn and serious as ever stood in stark contrast with the faint teasing glimpse in the grey eyes - eyes that shared the laughter he did not voice.
"Well, as you perhaps noticed, the situation is pretty tense here. You've arrived in the middle of a tentative armistice, as all packs struggle and search for something - anything - that might give them the upper hand when battle breaks out again. And believe me, it will. Perhaps not today, perhaps not tomorrow. But eventually, it will." The words of the wolf echoed ominously through the streets, as Gravity navigated through the area with the confidence that comes with having thorough knowledge of the layout. This was his territory after all, and he prided himself on knowing every stone and every loophole. White fangs gleamed in the moonlight as he flashed the dog a wolfish grin over his shoulder. "If you live up to your name in any way, I'm sure you'll fit right in here. So... what do you want to know about the wonderful city of Hexasol?"

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. The sharp, rusty shrieking of the cemetery gates caused a dull chill to run its way down Devil's back, lasting only until they were finally released from their struggle against movement. Damned things, they seemed to get in worse condition as time passed, from lack of conditioning by humans. Perhaps they'd been somewhat useful--but, perhaps they'd simply just set up some sort of giant trap. All these gates would, sooner or later, stop functioning properly--and, would they open again? What if they just froze over one day and trapped all that stayed within its boundaries? The thought was a hard one to bear, but it didn't carry much weight; such fences would turn brittle and most likely break under impact after a while.. The shepherd shook her head softly, almost as if to clear her mind from the thoughts of a slowly decaying world. She quickly bounded after the timber wolf yet again, staying behind him a few feet. A devilish smirk washed over her face slowly as he noticed the sudden lack of her sharp tongue. What did she look like? Some kind of broken record that didn't shut up? The thought caused a small smile to take cover of the smirk, widening only slightly as she noticed that his eyes shimmered with a bit of the same humor that he otherwise seemed to reject. "Don't say that, it might be tempted to start up the motor again.." She joked, giving a slight wag of her tail. She'd been fortunate to keep it undocked, since humans seemed to have had a passion for cropping the tails of her breed. The thought never crossed her mind as to why..but she didn't care. They died before they could try, so it was here to stay. She continued to follow within a short distance, though curiosity let her mind wander as she did so, though keeping most of her conscious mind listening attentively to his words. So, the battle hadn't yet fully begun..Perhaps she was in time to watch the first shots fired. By his words, it seemed like the sides were building up their armies first--training them the best they could. This would be worth the watch..perhaps even worth the fight. It held no doubt in her mind that the battle would last for ages--after all, you couldn't just eliminate every single feline out in the world; though you you could give it a shot. Amber-brown eyes lifted to meet his as he flashed her a grin, questioning what she wanted to know about the city. That was a rather extensive list.. The female liked adventure--the very thing that'd led her here in the first place. "Everything." She said, returning a mischievous grin as she sped her pace up slightly, just enough to relieve some of the distance between them so that she walked by his side. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } "Don't say that. It might be tempted to start hunting again." The tone of his voice made it almost impossible to judge whether this was another taunt or a real threat - perhaps because the timber wolf didn't actually know the answer himself. His grey tail twitched once in a wolfish equivalent of a human shrug (since it is a bit difficult for a four-legged creature to shrug while walking, ifn ya know what I mean). "Though of course it did give a promise..." He added the words in a considering voice, as if simply thinking out loud. Then his tail flicked again as he dismissed the matter.
Everything. Everything, she said, as she sped up to fall into a walk besides him. Her, a stranger, walking besides the Warden! Oh such wonderful nerve. It wasn't because he minded people walking besides him, but since he had become leader of the Tempest Pack, the number of canines who dared do that had dwindled depressingly. Though it annoyed him slightly to be treated like he was somehow better than his fellow pack members, he hadn't done anything to correct the canines who decided to follow in his wake instead of walking besides him. Even if it left a sour taste in his mouth, it was useful. The Warden had to be strong, had to be... superior... lest he wasn't gonna stay Warden for very long.
"Everything? Oh girl, if I told you everything I know about this place, I'd either have to kill you or put you in a cage. Are you that desperate to end up in a padded cell my dear?" Again neither voice nor mouth betrayed that this was, indeed, more taunt than threat. The wolf gestured with his head, indicating they had to turn left. "Alright, I'll tell you the basics then. Three main packs - the Tempest Pack, in which territory you waltzed into. The Iris Pride, the pack of the felines. And then the Lexis Tribe, a pack of felines and canines together, working towards a "peaceful solution". The Lexis Tribe probably won't do you any harm should you stray into their territory - they are mostly pacifists. They actually consider their policy of nonviolence a "strength", as if that somehow means they are superior to the rest of us." He snorted, clearly indicating what he thought about that notion. "As if they aren't killers like the rest of us."
A distinct clicking sound of claws on gravel reached his ears, and Gravity tilted his head slightly, sniffing at the wind. Then he gave a short bark, and the sound faded back into the night. Seemingly unperturbed the wolf nodded towards a gate leading into a little park. "A shortcut, faster that way." His off-handed way of handling the situation without explaining to her what had happened, was a tiny bit of payback for the insults back at the cemetery. If she wanted to know who that was, she could bloody well ask, and he might just tell her... if he was in the right mood.

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. A small smirk tugged at the corners of Devil's snout once more, almost as if she enjoyed the fact that her clever tongue seemed to bring a certain level of annoyance to the wolf. The thought alone was enough to bring the mischievous spark back into her eyes, showing that part of her was deeply tempted to toy with his thoughts yet again. Though, she kept her wit under lock and key until she was sure that they were on slightly better terms--as tempting as her 'death wish' might have been. "Alright, alright..grumpy.." She said, taunting him slightly yet again, though through different methods. She continued to walk by his side, her ears pricking up slightly as he started talking once again. A padded cell didn't sound too bad..she could freely charge right into the walls, only to be thrown back onto a cushion. It wouldn't have borhtered her, if it wasn't for the cell part. She could only imagine how much her sanity--or what she had left of it--would suffer if she were stuck all day and night within small boundaries. She was mentally and physically too active to survive more than a few days in such a contraption. Her thoughts raced slightly at the image, but they were soon grasped back into reality as he started explaining the packs. She took note of his snort, grimacing slightly at how somebody could believe that cats and dogs could live together--and furthermore, how they seemed to be freely accepting of trespassers. "So they claim territory, yet let just about anyone wander into it?..what if some other pack wants to lengthen their boundaries by cutting into theirs? Would they even do anything?" she asked, her ears pricking suddenly at the distant sound of claws, and his sudden bark. This suddenly drew her curiosity right out of the cave yet again--what was that about? "Mind if I ask what that was about?" she asked, glancing in the direction that the sound had come from. It was probably nothing more than one of his soldiers, and his bark was surely to let it be known that was closeby--maybe. That was probably the scenario..but she couldn't help but wonder if it was any different. She quickly turned her attention away from the sound, following Gravity yet again as he turned towards a gate--a shortcut, he called it. A shortcut towards what? Where exactly were they headed? The shepherd kept her questions to herself yet again, showing a less questioning side of her personality--though the look on her face gave away the simple inquiries that seemed to be almost expected of her. Where, and why?|| Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Grumpy? Gravity snorted again, this time to show his amusement. It was a snort that said "You think THAT is grumpy?" "You should've met my mentor. You would've liked him. He would've liked you too. I'm sure he'd feel bad afterwards about biting your head off." A little smile had snuck itself into his voice, as memories he thought long lost resurfaced from the depths of his mind. Once more his nostrils were filled with the smell of dust and dirt and rusting metal, and underneath that the unique scent of his mentor that had coated the little shack, marking it occupied. Marking it as home. Perhaps the only home Gravity had ever had since he left his own those years ago.
Gravel crunched underneath his paws, a sound he found terribly loud in the silence of the little park. Changing course he moved away from the path (or what was left of it, after 2 years of weeds and grass being allowed to grow uninhibited), slipping into the darkness underneath the trees that stood like giants guarding the pathway. "If attacked they will defend themselves. They might have weird ideas, but they aren't stupid. Don't underestimate them. I said that if you trespass on their territory, they will be less keen on killing you than the other packs. If you're polite they'll most often either take you for questioning, or simply escort you to the border. I know the 'polite' part means that you'll probably be killed on the spot, but please, at least try. Potential shouldn't be wasted through stupidity."
Backhanded or hidden compliments.Oh yeah, that was Gravity in a nutshell.
He felt a smile tug at the corners of his mouth, when she voiced her question about the sound out loud, and he won another point in their little game. What the hell, why am I even playing games with this female in the first place?. The hints of a grin disappeared before they even had time to evolve into a real smile, while he slipped through a hole in the fence that surrounded the park, and moved into the open street once more. "What you heard there was one of my Soldiers slipping and moving too close. They've been keeping an eye on you since you crossed the border, and have followed us since we left the cemetery. Should you have somehow managed to slip past me, they would immediately have seized you." In that simple piece of information there was several unvoiced messages. There was the message that they'd known about her presence all along. There was the message that she'd never really had a chance of getting away. And there was the message that she shouldn't even think about trying to slip away from him now. Satisfied that she was intelligent enough to pick out those messages by herself, he finally came to a stop in front of a nondescript little house.
"Aah, here we are."

Devil arched an eyebrow slightly, listening attentively as the large wolf mentioned his mentor. A mentor--for what? She shrugged the thought off just as quickly as it'd come, realizing that he must have been the reason that even the smallest particles of Gravity's breath were illuminated by leadership qualities. She could only imagine how much that canine would have destested her..and Gravity made sure to emphasize that there would be some missing limbs shortly after. "You sure seem to know a lot of pleasant people.." She muttered, though quickly changing the tone in her voice as she picked up on the faint trails of happyness that suddenly lurked within the wolf's expressions, causing another curious undertow to disrupt her now much calmer disposition. Perhaps he had been fond of his mentor--was there a true personality behind his characteristic persona? She could only hope to find out in the most likely short span of time that she was to spend with him. "I see..so technically, theyre the nice guys--with land mines." Her attention was quickly taken away from the tidbit of information about the Lexis pack, and it took a dive into comprehending what Gravity seemed to be doing a lot of. It was almost like he gave compliments, but at the same time deflated any chances an ego might have to rise. What the heck was he doing? The shepherd couldn't help but cock her head lightly at the situation, showing the curiosity that was almost scratching and screaming, begigng to let itself out so that she could plague him with another flood of questions. However, she kept her mouth shut--keeping the questions at bay until she could ask later, in a timely manner rather than right away. His next words took a while to sink in, causing her to prick her ears up as if she didn't get it the first time--though she did, and was just reluctant enough to not admit it. What did he mean by that? She'd been on watch like some kind of outlaw, from the second she'd crossed over into his territory.. Hazel-brown eyes narrowed slightly, failing to hide the annoyance that had been triggered as a result of his comments. Perhaps she should have kept her mouth shut in the first place and not asked about the small disruption. The inquiry had only caused her own dissapointment.. "Where's..here?" She asked, raising her snout slightly as her chest heaved, taking in a deep breath of the air that surrounded the two and processing every bit of informaion available--every tree, leaf, dirt particle..and a small house? Why a house? The questions buzzed in her head like a hive of angry bees, but she let none of them through, other than her previous statement. From what she could sense in the air, he enjoyed filling her with doubt--and she would not allow him to take pleasure in her unquenched thirst for knowledge. At least, not consciously. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of it all was that Gravity was quite certain that his mentor actually would have enjoyed the company of this cheeky female. Of course he would never admit to such a thing, especially not now that she was a loner and all. But somewhere behind the snapping and the jabs, he would have approved of her.
Perhaps in that aspect you're more like him than you think.
Gravity shook his physical body slightly as an outer sign of how he mentally shook the thought away, his grey coat still thick with winter's pelt fluffing up and resettling around his large body, like the dust of his memories was stirred up to slowly float down and settle once more. The grey eyes were turned towards her shortly, a curt smile playing on his lips. "The world is not a pleasant place. A harsh world bears harsh children." Before he turned his attention to the road again he saw something... something he thought to be a question... in her eyes. A question about things too close to his heart. A question that threatened to rip open old scars and dig up old skeletons, that had been buried so long only their white skulls remained to mock him with their grins. He hurried on in the conversation, to avoid the possibility that she might choose to voice the question out loud. "Technically they are predators trying to convince themselves and the world that they are sheep. Either they will wake up and realize the nature of their deception... or they will die like sheep." His voice had turned even darker with a sarcastic - almost mocking - humour, though whether the reason for this was to be found in the resurfacing memories, or the subject of the Lexis Pack, was difficult to say.
As he shifted his gaze from the house to Devil, that little twinkle of annoyance in her chocolate eyes helped to bring a bit of his mood back. He winked at her like a mischievous young boy taking his crush to his "secret place". Except that the mental picture of Gravity as a mischievous young boy was quite ridiculous. The canine gestured with his head that she should follow him, and walked through the gates in the wooden fence, through a little garden that had once been neatly kept, but now had been seized by weeds, and finally his paw landed on the stone step in front of the door, which opened by a push of his head. He stepped away from the door and faced Devil once more, before he inclined his head towards the entrance in a mocking version of the gentlemen from old human movies always let the ladies go first. "Your hotel room ma'am."
He knew what she'd find in there. The interior of a little house with one room, a bedroom, a toilet and a kitchen. The kitchen would be in ruins as it had been raided by animals long ago, but the rest of it was decent enough - if by "decent" you meant "dusty with half the furniture destroyed and the other half worn-out and moldy". But that was the conditions of the entire city nowadays, so by these standards the interior was actually quite... decent. But most importantly perhaps, was the fact that all the windows had steel bars put in place by the former owner of the house - a paranoid geriatric who thought that barred windows and a sealed door would keep the illness out. His skeleton now inhabited a corner of the bedroom, bones picked clean by whatever animal had arrived to his body first.

The world is not a pleasant place. A harsh world bears harsh children.
That single phrase seemed to sink in faster than some of the other things the wolf had said, echoing throughout the depths of her thoughts whether she realized it or not. Every single word of that was true, and yet she'd not taken it into consideration until he'd brought the strange coincidence to light. No doubt about it, the world--specially in the new era--had toughened even the most benevolent animals.
Her conscious mind, however, defied such thought processes and was busy following his expression. She'd always been interested by the oddest things--such as quickly changing emotions, and unvoiced thoughts that still shone through someone's eyes. This very strange habit seemed to be playing with her thoughts at the moment, causing her to bear little to no smart remarks as she tracked Gravity's emotions attentively, almost as if to make a mental list of what situations caused him to react a certain way. Despite the subtle brain processes, she still managed to keep one ear's attention to what he was saying. "So..like a wolf in sheep's clothing, stuck on the way to the slaughterhouse." She said, the corners of her mouth tugging upwards into a mild grin. That is, until his mischievous wink. Perhaps she'd play a different kind of game..a game to see whether or not she could make him feel awkward. That'd be interesting to do..and it'd be a good way to find out just how long his cool head could help keep his sanity. She returned the gesture, winking one of her eyes and lifting a paw, kneeling down slightly and mocking the same old human gestures that he'd previously done--except, the female alternative of curtsying when a gentleman held the door open. She lifted herself back up quickly, prancing off past him and giving a flick of her tail as she descended into the depths of the small house. Her eyes seemed to give off a dull, amber glow in the darkness--though it was all just the result of the reflective retinas that canines shared. Devil's gaze seemed to scan the room slowly, running over even the smallest details. "Not too bad.." she said, moving towards a shadow in the room that resembled that of a couch. "Do you hang out here on your spare time? Y'know, when you're not out hunting down anything that moves and is trespassing.." The question and remark seemed to roll off her tongue this time, requiring hardly any compliance from her--which raised some slight alarm within her mind. Perhaps she really couldn't hold her tongue.. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Gravity didn't like her eyes. Or, more specifically, he didn't like the look in her eyes. He didn't like the way her gaze seemed to analyze his every move, and he definitely didn't like the feeling he got, that she could look right through him. The feeling that he was a riddle she was trying to solve, and that she was awfully close to finding the right piece that would make all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, and unlock the doors into his soul. He felt a slight tingle run down his back, and confused he stepped back from his mind to examine the feeling that had produced the shiver. Worry? Frustration? ... fright? With the care of a bureaucrat he carefully labeled his feeling, putting a little tag on it that said "unknown", and then he shelved it at the back of his mind for a later examination he knew would never come. There the feeling would stay, locked away, together with the rest of the feelings he'd been unable to identify, and as such had chosen to ignore.
At her words he was abruptly called back to reality, and he looked at her with surprise for a moment while his mind raced to comprehend what she had said, and find meaning in the shambles of words that she had produced. Then the corners of his mouth tugged into a surprised smile. "I like the way you think." Now, those feelings were easy to identify. Those would be amusement and approval. Those he could understand and cope with.
Gravity rolled his eyes towards the evening sky when she flicked her tail at him, while he tried to ignore the sudden smell of female that filled his nostrils. He felt the musky smell tug at something at the back of his mind. Now there was a feeling easily identified, and very much not welcome. Damn ancient instincts, and damn females and their lovely smell and lovely... everything else. Best not dwell on that now. He followed her into the house, though he stopped as soon as he stepped through the open door. "Oh yeah, it's my personal little summer house you know? I come here to rage whenever a bird decides to take a shit in my territory without my permission. Can you believe such nerve?" The big head was shaken from side to side, in the perfect picture of the disappointed outrage of someone who really couldn't believe, why the rain didn't stop falling when he commanded it to.
"Well, to get back to business then this is our guest house, where you a free to stay for the night. Here you will be safe from any threats, but there will also be two guards constantly watching the house. The border is only a short distance from here, and you are free to leave whenever you want, however tomorrow morning at the latest you will leave our territory. Just step out of that door and the guards will escort you to the border." Gravity tilted his head slightly, giving her a questioning look. "Anything more I can do for you before I take my leave?"

"Now that's a new one." She mocked, the words rolling from her tongue almost as instantly as he'd commented about the way she thought. There were a list of things Devil knew well enough to expect, but Gravity approving of something she said or did was a rather new subject which she hadn't gotten the chance to be familiar with. Her tail gave a slight wag at the thought, shedding some light on the subconscious process that canines--or at least domesticated ones--were known for, the need to please. Whether it was a need or not, it did have a certain ring to it that made whatever hassle was necessary all worth the trouble. His next words were rather amusing, and in doing so caused a sheepish grin to slowly form upon her snout. Devil knew almost instantly that he was kidding, however the way which he said it and shook his head in disbelief caused an almost comical scene in which he was trully annoyed at birds. "Why, no--no I cannot fathom how a bird would have the audacity to relieve itself on your territory." She said, giving yet another mild wag of her tail before turning her attention to the shadowed couch that she'd approached earlier. It had some bites and scratches, with some mold along the bottom, but alas, it was still soft to the touch. She hardly took a second thought before springing into the air, bouncing a bit before finally sitting down on one of its cushions. My, oh my. She'd almost forgotten how soft some man-made things could be--the thought of concrete and graphite had long since dulled the softness that she'd encountered long ago, when the disease had first started and she'd managed to sneak into the house to see what it was like. Now comfortably seated, she lay down further, setting her head on her paws to produce the misleading image of an innocent puppy. So, he wanted her out of the territory--she could do that, after all there wasn't much attachment to this land nor to the city. However, the thought of leaving seemed to cancel out a previous inquiry that had voiced itself only in her head. What if she wanted to stay? Not as any random dog, but..as a part of the pack. Her ears twitched slightly at the thought, causing her to lift her head slowly before turning her attention to Gravity's last comment--which may have been the best way to ask for his approval. "Perhaps. If I wanted to stay..what does it take to join your pack? Her tone was practically overflooding with true curiosity, something a bit stronger than her previous questions that had been only voiced for the amusement and conversation that they would cause. Something within her expressions seemed to stir, causing her otherwise mischievious disposition to sober up, if only for a moment. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Gravity's right ear twitched once in amusement as he watched the female get comfortable. It was clear that she had tried such luxuries before - probably a house dog like so many others had been before the disease had struck. In the beginning Gravity had thought them weak. He had pitied those canines made soft by couches and toys and served food. Those dogs who had allowed themselves to be tamed and trained to walk on a leash. How could they be true canines? How could they claim to be the kin of the wolves - the sons and daughters of the forests and the mountains? Oh yes, Gravity had looked down at them. And he had been right. Many had died like flies. Many had been ripped to pieces by reality. But not all. Some had survived - some had reclaimed their true nature. As he looked at Devil, he knew that those who had survived all those struggles, shouldn't be underestimated. He also knew that this female was one dog who would never be able to go back. This was one spirit who would never again be put on a leash. But the image of her lying there, eyes all big and brown, looking at him like some sweet little puppy? That was too much, even for him. He rolled his eyes towards the ceiling, to show that she couldn't fool him. "Aah look at you. Aren't you a sweet little thing? You just need a collar and you would almost be able to pass for a cute little lap dog."Her next comment caught him completely unawares however, and for the first time that evening she had actually managed to render him speechless... if at least for a couple of seconds. He blinked once, then twice, and then collected himself. His mind immediately racing with the implications of her words. She had mentioned how she considered perhaps helping out. But the risk was always there... the big question. Is she a spy? He honestly didn't know. He had the feeling she would be smart enough to pull it off. Oh well, that was one question only time could give a definite answer to. Grey eyes that had turned from amused to serious from one instant to the other, searched her with new intensity. "What does it take to join my pack? Loyalty Devil. Pure, intense, and absolute loyalty. Which you can't give me at the moment, for you don't know the city. If you don't know what you consent to, how can you do it completely?" He inclined his head towards the wall behind her. "Leave tomorrow. Roam the city, wander its streets, register its smells and breathe the air. I can only tell you about the mind of the city, the heart you have to experience yourself. Then, if you still want to help out... well, then you know where to find us." At the last sentence his lips drew back in a little smile. He lowered his upper body slightly towards the floor and inclined his head, continuing their parody of the old human customs - this time mocking the bow of a gentleman. "Then I bid you goodnight M'lady." The big wolf turned around and walked out the door. Then, just as he was about to step out into silent night, he hesitated as if in afterthought. The grey head turned, and he looked over his shoulder at the female lying on the couch inside. His features were suddenly completely serious again, his voice dead calm - the face of the Warden. "Oh, and Devil... if you ever "waltz" unannounced into my territory again, I'll kill you. If you don't want to join my pack... don't come back."Then the Warden slipped out the door and into the night. Gravity over and out

A lap dog. A lap dog? What kind of dog did she look like? Sure, there was lots of fluffy long hair and she was light enough to pass for one of the prissier, smaller dogs..However, she was anything but one of those weak little things. She'd herded sheep by running distances close to marathons, and her energy and drive must have been kept at tip-top shape for her to do such things..and yet, here he was comparing her to a collared purse dog. The thought itself was enough to cause some resent to rise regarding her past life. Yet, she couldn't blame him, nor herself for the fact that she'd once been tame. She also couldn't put much blame on anything but herself for attempting to look innocent via setting her head on her paws like some kind of puppy. Her ears flickered back a bit, pinning against her head softly as she listened to his next words. Loyalty, eh? He wanted loyalty..raw, untamed loyalty to him and his pack. She felt that she could give him a run for his money at the moment over how loyal she could be, however.. her boldness ran dry. He was right. She didn't know the city, she didn't know hardly a thing other than the basics about such places. She'd have to do some exploring and some wandering, perhaps fighting and gaining a few scars here and there before she could trully come to the decision of joining his pack. A soft sigh rolled out from her chest, shortly followed by a subtle nod--for once, almost as if to agree and make it known that she would comply with his suggestions. "Good night." She said, the tips of her mouth curling upwards into a smile as she watched him work his way back to the door. Such a funny thing..Humans had always been amusing, that is--their good side. Their culture was entertaining, full of hypocrites and radicals..Crazy people, and crazy people disguised as educated people. The thought alone was something to scoff at, and therefore drews a short laugh from the female. However, the wolf's sudden change in expressions caused her own to become a bit more sober yet again. His next words seemed to echo in the room slightly, due to the tone in which they'd been uttered. It'd registered in her mind as some kind of order. One she didn't want to disobey, for once in her life. She could only bring herself to nod in response, as a means to communicate that she'd comply with his request. Her tail flicked behind her slightly, curling about her legs as her gaze followed him into the shadows. Through the night, she slept hardly a bit, exploring and moving across the house from room the room. The scent of the human which once lived here was still very much alive in the depths of the scents. However, it had still fainted. The shepherd moved slowly back towards the couch, brushing against it slightly to leave some of her scent imprinted on it, just to add yet another piece to the mosaic that had formed due to all the different smells within the house.
