They were so close to each other now, the dust caused by the battle swirling in a thick cloud around them and blocking out everything else but the lion and wolf. As they faced off, he could hear screaming and barking coming from every angle around him. Battle cries, whimpers of pain, bones breaking and blood spilling. But there was no time to pray for his army’s safety.
He saw the wolf he was targeting open his jaws. It was just the two of them, both leaders ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for their species. As Panja raised a paw to strike, a dog, an ugly mixed breed that he could smell belonged to the Lexis Tribe, leapt between Mercury and the white lion. The small canine let out a high pitched bark in a pathetic attempt to ward Panja away, and his brows darkened in amusement at the loyalty it displayed. He would show it how useless its devotion to Mercury was, how not even the mighty wolf, the brother of the famous Gravity, could stop the Iris Pride from slaughtering every dog on this beach.
Quietly he flexed his claws and brought them out to slash open the mutt’s face. Its dreadfully loud barking was silenced at once. With a heavy thud it landed upon the sand, its body convulsing from shock and struggling to cling to its last bit of life. Panja watched the blood run from the dog’s mutilated face and turned back to Mercury with the slightest hint of smirk at the corner of his mouth. This would be the same fate of the entire Lexis Tribe and the Tempest Pack. Within the next few seconds it would also be Mercury’s fate.
The wolf’s fangs glinted in the last rays of sunlight as did the fresh blood on Panja’s claws. Again the lion went to attack, swinging out a large paw to hopefully both defend himself and land a dizzying blow to Mercury’s head.

"I think not, baby puppy" smirked Camille, emerging from the side onto the sand. With a sharp hissing intake of breath, the two cats running towards Blitzen departed, taking off either side of the dog. There was only so much that the domestic cats could do in this war. And while she appreciated there efforts, they were pawns in the prides game. The Iris pride would always be in the control of the larger cats and it was easy to see why. The tabby could not take down the dog on its own. The mutt was easily ten times larger and bulkier than the cat. But now it was an even playing field as the leopard stood almost the same size as the scavenger."Lets see how you fare against someone your own size." taunting the mastiff, her tail flicking back and forth at her heels, almost playfully as if this was actually fun. "Come on you big oaf! Show me what you've got!" she hissed and launched into her attack.
She had no tactics, no sly moves she needed to employ. She ran burst forward into a run, her ripped leg muscles working like a spring and exploding her forward like a rocket. Her paws pounded against the sand and she gained speed with every stride. His face was what she was aiming for. A shrill of pleasure and delight escaped her muzzle as she imagined her silvery claws gouging out his soft squishy eyeballs and feeling her pop underneath her fluffy paws. Pushing down with her hind legs, she jumped forward towards Blitzen, her fore legs outstretched and her claws pointed at the mastiff's face.

The menacing call of a feline caused the large bitch to stop in her tracks. She felt her lips lift up, revealing her sharp canine teeth. Turning around, she watched the cat who had delivered the threats. "With age comes experience, and trust me cat, experience is something I have alot of." She growled in response. Thinking of the meaning of grandma instantly reminded her of her pups. This wasn't the time nor the place to be thinking of things such as that. Shaking her head of the memories, she barked a few times, her teeth bared.
Lowering her front, Cassidy was prepared as the smaller cat raced forward. Her plan was to grab her in her jaws as she got close enough but the feline swurved at the last moment and ran throug her tall legs. The beach really wasn't a good place for a dog like her to be fighting on. Her large paws simply sank through, meaning she needed more energy and more strength just to get moving. Cass howled in pain as she felt small sharp claws grip her plumy tail. Spinning around, the St Bernard hoped to confuse the cat and throw her off. Things weren't going so well though, her paws just kept slipping underneath the surface of the sand and she just couldn't get proper balance to perform such tactics. Teeth drove in to her rump. Lifting her rear leg, the bitch planned on kicking Isis off. This had to work, it just had to.
Cassidy continued to growl in quite a high-pitch. Her groan was filled with pain, anger and sadness. It was the cats that killed her family. Her mate. Her pups. They were all gone because of these monsters. The female tried her best to shake the cat off of her back. A bite in the rump wasn't good enough to kill a dog like her, but the longer the cat's fangs remained her rear, the more it hurt and the more blood she lost which would consequently make her weaker.

Mercury’s eyes were glued to the form of the huge, ivory lion in front of him. He could scent sand and salt, blood, chaos, and fear. His sensitive ears were crowded, too, by the horrible sounds of war. Ferocious battle cries, taunts, yowls and yips and barks of rage and pain. The revulsion he felt for all of this, churning in his stomach, was all that remained of his former peaceable nature. But he pushed it aside, preparing to strike, his jaws open and his body tensed, at the ready to react to whatever the feline was about to do. The fact that the only time he’d ever really fought or come near to fighting another creature had been with his brother, Gravity, didn’t bother him in the slightest. Skill and experience, though vital, was only part of fighting other creatures. Animal instinct was important, and that was one thing that the huge male wolf had in a plentiful supply.
He watched as Panja raised a massive front paw, as if to strike him, but the blow didn’t come near to landing, because another creature interfered. It was the tiny Chihuahua-pug cross, Don. Mercury had befriended the little dog, who had immediately agreed to join him. He wondered if he regretted doing so now that Lexis dogs were fighting Lexis cats, but this was apparently not the case. Don ran between the lion and the wolf, yapping ceaselessly at the former. “Leave him alone, cat!” It was a brave but foolish attempt, and what happened next was too fast and cruel for the timber wolf to try to push his loyal friend away. Long, sharp claws slashed at Don’s head, striking a vital part of his brain. The little Chihuahua mix fell to the ground, writhing in the sand as his blood turned it red, finally drawing one last, shuddering breath, and became eerily still.
As Panja turned back to him, his claws crimson with blood, Mercury managed to wipe any horror off his face before the lion’s eyes met his. If this was how they treated their enemies, then how on earth did the felines manage to treat each other reasonably? Preventing a shudder from running through his sturdy frame, the male bared his fearsome teeth and growled, a wordless declaration of hate. I will do my best to destroy you and all your followers, no matter what the cost. A moment later, his eyes caught sight of movement as the white monster aimed a heavy paw at his head. He dodged, none too soon, for the part of the blow’s weight caught the side of his head, a dull thud emanating as it did so. Slightly dizzy, the hulking timber wolf aimed a ferocious bite at his enemy’s hindquarters, continuing to move as he did so that he was a moving target. He did not want the white lion to gain a greater advantage than the one he already had in his superior girth.

His opponent was fast, dodging the lion’s fierce blow with expert speed and agility. While he saw that he had momentarily knocked Mecury off his feet, dizzying him for a few short seconds, Panja didn’t react quick enough to use it to his advantage. That was foolish. He could have taken that chance to hit him again and bring him to the ground. Killing the mutt would be easy; it was pulling him down long enough to do so that was the tricky part. A big cat’s size could be as much of a hindrance as it was an advantage.
He spun halfway around, steadying himself for another swing at Mercury’s skull. As the tendons in his paw moved to flex out his claws and he prepared to strike, Panja felt a mouth of razor sharp fangs seize his lower flank. He shut his eyes in pain and instinctively flailed his body to get the wolf off of him. Thanks in part to his size he managed to do so, but the wound inflicted on his hip was surprisingly deep. He felt the jaws leave his skin, tearing the flesh even further, and jumped back before Mercury could attack him again. The warm flow of blood began to stream down his thigh and leg, staining his white fur scarlet.
In a fury of claws and teeth, he lashed out at Mercury with no holds barred. The pain was blinding him and all he wanted now was to end this battle, to go back to his Pride and celebrate his victory with Florence. Vaguely he began to wonder how his other teammates were faring, especially the smaller cats who were up against much larger animals. He would have to end this battle quickly before any more of them could die. Gravity’s brother was the only thing standing in the way, and Panja again tried to hook his claws into the canine’s face, aiming for the eyes this time.

The ocean waves seemed to grow more restless as time grew, their crashing roars growing more prominent. Phantom's words seemed to disappear in the salty air, for he did not get a solid reply to his musings. He shrugged. he was rather used to it. You'd be too, if half the time you talked too fast for replies anyway. Elvis, the basset hound and the nutjob of the group, did reply, however. Phantom was very grateful, and smiled fondly. Being as savage as he was in the presence of cats, rarely did Phantom gain any friends, but such a dog as Elvis seemed not to care about his feral tendencies. There was a bit of a connection, he guessed. The black and white canine shrugged. His response had made little sense to him, so he acknowledged it with a polite nod. "I don't think I've heard of those. But I'll take your word for it." He grinned and chuckled lightly to himself, watching the dog drag his ears, and the rest of himself for that matter, off into the crowd. The others did not seem to notice him. Either that or they made an effort to ignore him. Phantom opened his mouth, as if to add another generic comment, but just as his jaws parted a roar signaled from somewhere behind him. "ATTACK!"It took a moment of hesitation and realization before Phantom could stagger into a battle position, and even still his mind was whirring in confusion. They had been there the whole time! The fox terrier cursed rather loudly to himself. How could he have not smelled the heavy stench of feline? Now that they had come out of their hiding places, the scent was clear. How foolish of him! Phantom felt his face grow hot, and his mind blurred as he targeted a small tortoiseshell feline perched nearby, battle-ready. The fox terrier could feel himself slipping, slipping from his sane half and into his aggressive, reckless one. His cognitive state was confusing at that point, his conscious only focused on one thing--killing these cats int he most brutal way possible. The black and white male lunged forward, skidding right under the tortoiseshell, who had leaped in the air moments before his jaws could snap shut on her spine. The she-cat hissed, one eyebrow raised, taunting. "That the best you got, furball? Come at me again then!" Phantom growled, seething with some untraceable rage, and his voice came, a bit deeper and much more savage than before "Fucking cat. I'll shred you! Shove my teeth right through your lungs and twist. Rip your puny throat in half! You're gonna wish you never said that!" The cat's pupils seemed to dilate, as if she was surprised by his retaliation, and in her hesitation Phantom pounced, his jaws snapping against the cat's spine. She screeched, caught off guard, and her limbs splayed, shuddering frantically, trying to get grip of Phantom's pelt. His jaws did not cease their grip, but came harder, even as he felt the bone break clean. Crimson droplets painted his face as his teeth wrenched free, tearing the cat's spine from it's back and letting it clatter against the grown. The cat was a lifeless bundle against the ground, bloodied and mangled beyond recognition, and Phantom marveled at his creation. It was a masterpiece to him, a fine piece of artwork, but he did not have time to appreciate it before he felt needle-sharp claws dig into his pelt. He swerved, face to face with two tabbies; one brown, one orange. The fox terrier's face was almost perfectly scarlet, at least, enough to make the line between black and white on his face indistinguishable. It was quite horrific, actually. The canine's teeth clenched, and he shuddered violently with rage. "Cat! CAT! You're gonna fucking regret that!" He spat, shaking himself violently, trying to dishevel the cat's claws from where they were latched. --------- Words: 650 Muse: Average Notes: He's attacking Enigma now :3 (Sorry I killed the no played cat. Icefang walks the walk. "Icefang talks the talk." |
Icefang thinks the think.
Her blue orbs were set upon Cassidy. The mutt had a feline digging it's fangs into her rump as the one eyed lioness eyed her target. Dashing forward at a steady pace, she swung out a paw to hit the mutt's muzzle as a snarl shot out past her lips. Icefang was hoping that her aim was correct today. After a month or so of having a blind eye she had gotten herself use to her new flaw and made it work to her advantage by using the ear on that side to strength it. Though with all the battle cries it would take a bit of work to focus the sound of an approaching feline or canine.
Her thoughts traveled back to her two newborn cubs. The damn Lexis leader, Streiter had taken them away. Even though she had attempted to fight back he had won due to her weakened form at the time. The ivory feline had darted out of his territory. She had at first gave not much worry to their father keeping them for the time being but now that her mind came to it she was concerned. Who would feed them the milk they needed in the first few months of life? Icefang could feel her anger build up. She was mad at herself and the male lion.
Why did he happen to find her? Why did she go hunting in Lexis when she was about ready to pop at any moment? All these questions and thoughts made her snarl as she snapped back to reality. Using all the muscle within her shoulder, she swung her paw, claws out much harder to try and slam the mutt over.
OOC: SORRY FOR BEING SO LATE. She's going for Cassidy!

Camille leaps for Blitzen, and as the two collide head-on the leopard's claws rake across the face of the canine, leaving deep diagonal gashes in their wake. A deadly dance ensues that leaves the Iris Pride member with ugly bites on flanks and shoulders, and the mastiff with a long gash across his side. But when the two finally parts Camille comes away with a mouthful of blood, fur and meat. A quick stream of blood flows from the deep wound to the Scavenger's throat, and it's obvious that unless immediately taken care of the big dog will soon grow weak and fall unconscious.
Somewhere a bit off, a squishing sound can be heard as Panja, the majestic white lion, sidesteps, one great paw smashing a couple of tomatoes hidden just underneath the surface of the sand.
All around canines and felines alike fall wounded and dying on the sand, but with every wave that comes crashing upon the beach, a few less canines are left standing. The numbers of the Lexis dogs are dwindling rapidly, some turning tail to flee as the balance of the battle shifts to favour the Iris Pride.
... what are tomatoes doing at a beach, anyhow?
OOC: Alright Flit, Blitzen has been injured and is bleeding to death. Both you and Robyn are free to write out the full details of the Blitzen/Camille battle, I just stepped in to kill off the dear mastiff. You have a maximum of two posts left with the dog. He must be dead/unconscious at the end of the second post, at the latest. Have fun!

It wasn't long before the large bitch noticed a second feline eyeing her up. This time it wasn't your every day house cat, it was a white lioness. As the lion started pacing towards her, Cass noticed that she only had one eye that still worked and a grin formed on her features. Although the odds were against her, this would at least give her some sort of advantage.
The large St Bernard opened her wide jaws and hoped that the female's paw would land straight in her mouth. If it worked, Cassidy would clamp down hard and refuse to let go. Unfortunately for her, the lioness's paw didn't go in to her mouth, it hit her on the side of her head, causing her to topple over slightly. At first the canine was dazed but she shook her head and steadied herself. A series of aggressive barks escaped her jaws and she launched herself at the lion. With Isis still on her back, she hoped her quick movements would knock her off and disorientate her.
Watching the lion, her mind flash backed to her family. It wasn't a lion that killed her pups and her mate but still, they were wild animals and all of them were the same. Cold, heartless killers. Picturing her pups dead made the bitch sad but furious at the same time. These felines were going to pay for what they had done. A growl made it's way out of Cassidy's mouth as she opened it, hoping to bite down hard on the lioness's flesh. She was aiming for the shoulder and forearm with one thing on her mind - to kill these cats.

Blitzen's form lumbered forward as he blinked at the hissing cat coming towards him. Pathetic. It really was. After all this, the only cat willing to dig it's claws into him was this flea-bitten one? He couldn't complain, but Blitzen actually felt a bit dissapointed in his opponent. As he kept walking forward, something off to the side moved and the three cats just a few feet away, the one running towards him counting, hissed and ran off. His ears perked as he listened to the rolling voice as the cats ran past him.
The big brute stopped and looked at the emerging leopard taking delicate steps towards him. Now here was an opponent worth his time and frankly he was pretty glad a big cat had stepped up to stop him, it'd make the Scavengers proud of his performance later on. Camille was larger and bulkier than the cat he had been toying with, but he kept his dopey expression upon his face...it was kind of genetic. Even as Camille stood close by almost as big as him, he didn't really do anything but show his canines a bit, preparing to bite down on something. Blitzen even took her toying with the same face. Seriously, what was wrong with the mastiff? Any normal dog would've at least made some sort of expression. Well he didn't and that was what made him useful to the Scavengers.
As Camille hissed and launched her form at him at rocket speed, he took it in and wasn't impressed. The leopard jumped towards his face with outstretched paws and he moved his head down to avoid the outstretched claws as they went over his shoulders and tor apart skin. Then, he launched his open maw right around the leopard's neck like a viper. However, he was off on the timing and a huge paw descended across his face, tearing into the tender layers. He inwardly cursed himself as he pulled away from the cat as fast as he could as blood streamed into his face. Shoving a paw around it, it came back stained, dripping, and smelling of metal. What a perfect way to end the day.
The mastiff then glowered at the cat who was hissing at him. From there, he launched at the cat and ended up fighting with it for quite some time, dodging and biting when he could. She was cut up badly, but when they pulled apart she got him again with outstretched claws across his side. It burned and soon blood began to flow heavily from it. Blitzen breathed heavily, mouth dripping with slobber and the stains of blood. He hadn't thought this cat would give him so much trouble. In fact it almost looked like they had back-tracked instead of going forward like Mercury had wanted.
Suddenly, Camille pounced at him from an angle and he blinked in surprise as she was on him, tearing apart his throat with a huge bite. He pulled away from her as quick as he could, but that only helped the tear commence. Gritting his teeth, Blitzen lashed back at the cat and bit her quite hard on the side of her own throat. Now they were even with deadly wounds. It was the cat, Camille, who pulled apart when his teeth latched onto her, that caused both of their throats to rip open. Blitzen's was only jammed up with blood, while her's was filled with his fur and skin. Disgust hit him, but dissipated as soon as the cat fell to the ground after swaying a bit.
Blitzen stood there triumphantly a beat until his ears shot up at the sound of squishing tomato's By now a dog should seriously be thinking about that gash in his throat that was pouring out onto the sand, but not Blitzen. He turned around, noticed the red juices flowing on the sand and he traced it to the white lion attacking Mercury. Now that got him to growl a bit. Finally an emotion came out of the brute and it was about tomatoes. The cat thought he could get away with destroying tomatoes, but that wasn't the deal here at all. It was time to exact revenge for destroying the delicious fruits of Hexasol!
With that, Blitzen charged full throttle toward Panja and a howl escaped him even as his life-blood spilled out on his tracks. Quickly, he came upon a leap from the white lion whom was battling Mercury and then jumped at the side of him with open jaws.

Mercury felt, for the first time since the start of this fight, that he was almost enjoying himself. Not all of his blows hit on target, and he was bleeding from several wounds, but he wasn't seriously hurt. Not yet, at least. He darted around Panja, ducking and weaving as if he had been taught how. Don't get too confident, a voice inside his head warned him. That's how you get killed, remember? Heeding it, he tried not to let the adrenalin in his body take over. As he launched himself at the white lion, he saw the huge paw that was aiming for his body. Speeding up, he bit deep into the other male's flank, his teeth sinking through fur and skin to pierce the muscle that lay beneath. Bitter, warm blood gushed into his mouth, staining his muzzle crimson flowing down his throat. The liquid dripped from the wound and down the lion's body, Mercury noted with satisfaction. Growling, he tried to retain his grip on his enemy's hip; this was too good an opportunity for him to waste.
The massive feline jumped backwards, trying to shake the canine off him. The timber wolf felt his jaws slipping, so he clenched them harder, only succeeding in ripping fur and skin from Panja as he was thrown backwards. Rising to his paws quickly, he spat the grisly trophy out of his mouth, along with a quantity of blood that splattered onto the sand like watery, scarlet paint. He braced himself for the next attack just before the ivory lion sprang at him, all caution thrown to the four winds. A wickedly sharp claw caught on his ear and ripped through it, causing Mercury to clench his teeth in pain. In return, he darted forward and aimed a nip at the lion's tail, shoving against him as he did so, hoping to unbalance him. Whirling around as pain stabbed his flank, he wrenched himself out of his opponent's hold, a long gash along his left side, blood flowing sluggishly from it. It wouldn't be deep; his fur was too thick for the lion's teeth to have done much more than break a few layers of skin.
He continued to give as he got, collecting more bites, cuts, and bruises. He was bleeding in several places; he had to be thankful, though, that none of his limbs or major body parts had been broken or seriously damaged. Wincing as he flicked his wounded ear, he attempted to strike the side of Panja's face, attempting to dart backwards as the lion reacted, charging at him and aiming a paw with claws outstretched at his face. He was too slow, and pain stabbed his forehead as the blow hit him. Twisting, he attempted to get away, but it only increased the pain. He snarled with the agony and fury, beginning to panic as the claws slid down towards his left eye. Again he scrabbled in the sand, and this time he felt fiery pain pierce his eyeball, blood clouding its vision. Redoubling his efforts, he managed to free himself, but his eye and forehead still burned. Lifting a paw to clear the blood from his eye, he watched in astonishment as Panja slipped on something red and squishy beneath the sand. Not wanting to waste this opportunity, he forgot about the pain and threw himself at the feline, aiming for his back this time.

He looked like something from a nightmare, really, and this didn't make the tom any happier to fight him. Watching the orange tabby speed ahead of him, he slowed down a touch, thinking to himself, Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. By then it was too late to pull out completely, though, and he didn't wish to look like a coward. Jumping at the dog, he felt his claw latch on to fur, and dug them in, attempting to get a better grip. The orange tabby, crazy thing that he seemed to be, raced head-on at the terrier, going for his throat. The dog reacted by swinging around, trying to dislodge the tabby as he snarled with rage.
Enigma held on with all his might, digging his claws into the fox terrier's skin and closing his eyes as the world spun around him. He could feel them slipping, so he boosted himself up onto the canine's back, with two legs on either side, resting on his enemy's flanks. Leaning forward, all four sets of claws digging in to the dog ensure that he was balanced, the tiny tomcat snapped at the back of the dog's neck. Meanwhile, the orange tabby, having missed his target, fell flat on the sand and scrambled upright, this time charging in to snap at Phantom's legs.

His paw swung downward in an arc, hitting Mercury’s eye with perfect accuracy. The feeling of his claws dragging through skin and bone was marvelous; he took a brief few seconds to admire his work, his gaze following the stream of blood that flowed from the wolf’s eye socket and down his broad muzzle.
He had his chance then. If it wasn’t for what happened next, he probably would have been able to pin the canine down. But something under Panja’s hind paws caused him to stumble backward. The loss of balance threw him off and made him momentarily lose focus of the battle and what he was doing. Startled, he looked up to see Mercury skirt around him, then hissed when teeth pierced the middle of his back. Yet instead of allowing the weight and pain to bring him down, he let it spur him on, twisting the front of his body around to retaliate. Panja made another lightning fast move. He brought around his left paw to slash at the junction between Mercury’s neck and shoulder, purposefully just missing the jugular vein. Now that Panja had him where he wanted, he was not going to grant the Lexis male a quick, easy death.
Someone else was charging toward him, and the lion could only assume it was another dog defending the injured leader. This other male was a domestic breed, smaller than his current opponent, and twice as ugly. Panja bared his upper fangs, his muzzle wrinkled into a vicious snarl. With his mouth still open he aimed a bite at the back of Blitzen’s neck, a bite that would bring an almost instantaneous death if it hit its mark.

Mercury's small victory at managing to deliver a savage bite to the white lion's back was short lived. Ignoring the pain that he was obviously feeling, Panja moved too fast for the wolf to be able to react in any way, recovering swiftly from his slip on the red vegetables. Searing pain bit into the timber wolf as the lion's claws tore at the area where his shoulder and neck met on one side. He felt almost as if the two parts of his body were being separated from each other, and to his horror, there seemed to be a lot of blood flowing from the new wound. I can't continue like this, he realized. I'll lose too much blood and then I'll be dead, and of what use will I be to my brother then? All he could do for now was ignore the pain and hope the blood would clot, stopping the bleeding. Gritting his teeth, he growled in surprise as Blizen, the English Bulldog who was one of the Scavengers, attacked the lion.
He watched for a moment, then was forced into action as he saw the Iris Accomplice aim a killing bite at the smaller canine's neck. Quickly, hoping to distract his enemy, he aimed a bite at the nearest part of him- the long, thin dangling tail. He aimed to slam into the lion to put him off balance. But he knew that it might not be enough. You have to keep moving, Mercury. Don't stop now, he told himself. If he let himself slow down, he knew that he would probably be too exhausted from the injuries he had sustained and the energy that had been used defending himself to do anything but lie on the sand like a dead creature. Grunting as he jolted his injured shoulder, the hulking wolf opened his jaws wide and sprang at Panja, aiming to clench one of the lion's forelegs teeth between his jaws and break it. That would slow the lion down, if nothing else. Now he wasn't exhilarated, for all adrenaline and the hunger for blood had left him. No, now he was just desperate to finish this battle so that he could see his brother at least one more time before he met his demise. Deep down, he knew that he was unlikely to win the battle with Panja, even if he was one of the biggest canines in Hexasol.

The metallic scent of blood was heavy in the air. Phantom himself could not shake the stench away; if he were wiser perhaps he would have noticed how it caked the fur of his muzzle. He did not notice much at this point in battle anyhow. His mind had set itself into feline mass-murder-mode, something that was not easily broken. The canine's lips were drawn back, his teeth stained pink like small daggers, his face wild. His pupils had contracted, and theyw ere staring very far away, as if he were looking past the battle at something much more sinsiter. Something that only fet the anger that festered in the pit of his stomach. The orange tabby had shifted onto its haunches and sprung, and the brown tabby was not far behind. Phantom fancied he could see a look of uncertainty in its eyes, as if it was now realizing what it had gotten into. A sadistic smile stretched across the canine's lips. Foolish cat. Phantom continued to writhe frantically, trying to dislodge the cats from where they laid latched onto his back. He could not swing his head around enough to land a blow upon them, and this angered him. A bit of weight was flung from his shoulders as the orange tabby was dislodged, skidding down roughly against the sand. The brown tabby still clung viciously, and it's jaws now snapped at Phantom's neck, tearing the skin. Phantom howled, twirling in desperate circles as if chasing his tail, trying to grab hold of the feline. The orange tabby, though slightly battered, had gotten up now, and it bolted for Phantom's legs. "Idiots! You can't win. You CAN'T WIN!" The foxhound screeched. There was desperation beginning to ease into his voice, as two cats at once proved to be difficult for him to handle. Phantom could feel the orange tabby weaving around his legs, gouging deep scars into the delicate skin. He finally buckled, falling heavily onto his stomach. Enigma was still gripping his back, launching blows at his neck. Phantom's eyes widened suddenly, as an idea struck him. He sneered and struggled, trying to roll himself onto his back and flatten the cat who was latched so securely onto it. "A little help here, anyone?!" He grunted, seeming to gain a moment of sanity before slipping back into his demented state. ----- Words: 389 Muse: Meh Notes: Phantom is on the killing list, so if you wish to have Enigma kill him it can be arranged :B [/blockquote]
