Codes

Hi guys (:
Where can I learn codes I can use here on the proboard? I've found the one to use in threads (you know, the picture over the text, in the middle and at the bottom of the text) since it's in the graphics.
But what about other codes? Colours of text and that kind of things? And what is "attachment"? (It's almost at the top when you post a thread.)
These questions are probably pretty basic to you, but I don't know anything about them - I just have an idea of how to write x)

If you are looking for UBBC codes, then you can find a site like THIS which shows how to change to bold, or change font colours.
It explains how to use colour. For example [ / color] without the spaces would create this!.
There are plenty of other colours, not just the ones proboards provides in the drop down at the top of each post. You can use HTML COLOURS to add colours. Such as [ color=389DB6] text [/ color] would create this!. So on and so forth.
Attachments is where you attack images to your post. I don't think anyone actually uses it, so it's pretty pointless unless you're attaching quite a few images and don't want to upload to photobucket or tinypic. I prefer a host, though, like photobucket, but it's your choice (:
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Most of the UBBC codes are actually along the top, like [ justify ] [ /justify] and [ blockquote ]
Do a bit of experimenting with the different UBBC codes![/blockquote][/size]

Another useful code is also [ size=X][/ size] which changes the size of your text. Standard size is two, which is the one your posts are written in now. The size I'm writing with now would be 1. To get that you write [ size=1][/ size] without the spaces.
Examples: Size 2 Size 3 Size 4
As Pic also mentioned then blockquote is a very useful one. What it actually does: It moves the margin of your text towards the middle. This is especially nice if you use size 1 for your text, since it looks better because the lines aren't so long.
Justify makes the lines of text even with each other.
Example:
This is normal writing. Blahblahblah Conflicting Rivals is a cool site and I approve of weekends because they're awesome. Now I'll just ramble on for about five minutes in order to make this example be of any use. As you may be able to see then the lines are all even and pretty at the right side, in opposition to Pic's text or the text in the beginning of this post. Here I add another blockquote. This means that the margin on both sides moves towards the middle, which should be evident from my ramblings, which I think I'll stop just about now.
A useful note is also that if you press quote (to the upper right of other people's posts) you can see their posts and thereby what codes they used.
Also, then to transform links so they're just not the adress of the site, then you use the code [ url=insert link here]Insert name of link here[/ url] without the spaces. Example:
[ url=http://conflictingrivals.proboards.com/index.cgi]Home[/ url] becomes Home when you remove the spaces.
I hope this was useful and not too confusing. If it was, then let me know and I'll try to explain it better. The same if you have any other questions, of course.

Okay, thanks for all the codes! I suppose I'm going to play around with this and find out what I like. And thanks for the rambling tachi, it was useful :b But I have one more question about the codes - how can I change the texttype? If that's possible of course

To do that you use the code [ font=insert name of font here]Insert text here[ /font] (without the spaces of course). As far as I know proboard forums only support a couple of fonts, these being:
Verdana Times New Roman Comic Sans Arial Courier New Tahoma Century Autumn Lucida Console Rockwell Scibble Trebuchet
Have fun!
