More than five hundred centuries after Thread has been eradicated, the Dragons of Pern, most who now live free, wild lives, have begun to be used against their wills by being Harnessed and used to fight. Invicta Weyr is home to the Rebellion, those fighting against the Harnessers in an attempt to free the dragons. Whether it will accomplish its goal or not is completely up to you.
