Sub-Plot Ideas!
This month's competition is all about sub-plots. Now, as many of the older members are aware, Hexasol sometimes goes through some crazy stages.
For example, the time that the whole of the city flooded, or the epic battles between Iris and Tempest. Now we want your ideas! The one I, and my fellow staff, believe is best, will be used for the next sub-plot.
Rules and instructions:
- Nothing involving natural disasters - we've already had floods and snowstorms.
- If you have already given me or another staff member a sub-plot idea in the past, please don't repeat this idea. We have all the ideas logged down, but I don't think any are suitable for this current time (:
- PM me the sub-plots
- You can include any pack, pride or tribe, or even the loners, but remember that members will need to commit to this plot.
- Keep it original and interesting, but not too hard to recreate.
- Make it as detailed as possible - I don't want to be filling in the gaps.
- Have fun!
Prizes: First place - their competition used and 400 tokens. Second place - 200 tokens Third place - 100 tokens.
Competition ends in one week (10th February) so we can get this sub-plot rolling!
Have fun! <3

BELATED WINNERS
Gawd sorry for wait. Also, apologies if this makes no sense. Ill and tired do not go well -die- ANYWHO.
Basically, there's a joint first place between the dazzling Danes: Hunter and Tachi.
In second place is Robyn for such originality!
Congrats to you all (:
Unfortunately there isn't a third place because of the joint first place, but thank you to everyone who participated in the competition. All sub-plots will be archived in the staff room, so we could use yours in the future, even if you didn't get into the top three (:
Now, we'll be using Tachi's plot first which will lead into Hunter's - however Hunter's plot will be significantly changed to the circumstance of Tachi's plot. We still kept the skeletal structure but will merge it with Tachi's sub-plot too. I hope Hunter doesn't mind this. I won't reveal the changes we have made until the sub-plot is relevant, however I'll post Hunter's and Robyn's submitted sub-plots here for everyone to see. Tachi's sub-plot will be posted shortly thereafter as a new thread (:
Hunter's original plot: I think I’ve got an idea for the sub-plot! But it will also do some changes on the site. I remember one of our members talked about making a new pack, but at that time there weren’t enough canines to make another pack – but now there are many dogs, and now I have an idea.
There is a saying: “A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.” And Tempest looks pretty great right now in the statistics. So here’s the idea:
A member of the pack wants the rank of an alpha because he thinks Gravity is weak as a leader – “just look at how many times he has let the Iris Pride attack the Tempest Pack, and how many losses the pack has had”. He thinks Gravity isn’t capable of leading a pack, and that Brooke isn’t capable of being the General. Therefore, this canine challenges Gravity to a combat in the hope that he’ll win so he can make the pack as great as he wants it to be. Of course, it’s Gravity who wins the combat, and the canine feels humiliated. He curses the pack and all its members, and tells them they’ll only win the War between canines and felines if they follow him. After saying this, Gravity abandons the canine from the pack, and he’s told never to return.
A few days after the combat has taken place, the Iris Pride attacks the Tempest Pack and the pack suffers from greater losses than they’ve ever tried before – it makes the pack feel that there actually is a curse over the pack. These losses makes some members have doubt in Gravity, and after their wounds from the battle are healed, they choose to leave the pack secretly in the dark of the night and join the abandoned canine, who already has found some allies among the loners. Gravity still has the Tempest Pack – those who are still loyal to him – but the abandoned canine is slowly growing in strength because he has gotten members from the pack and some loners on his side. So, after this, we have two canine packs that are after the Iris Pride – and they are against each other because they both think their way is the right way.
The plot doesn’t have to take place right now, since there probably are some canines that will be deleted after the activity-check, and then there has to be some loners and some Tempest Pack members, who want to join the abandoned canine - after he has been abandoned from the Tempest Pack. We also have to find the abandoned canine who wants to create a whole knew pack – is has to be a big, mean one, not a little happy fox. And yes, of course I have one I would like to volunteer as the rebel-one, but the problem just is that he isn’t born yet… So I guess it’ll have to be someone else :b And btw, who doesn’t want to be the rebel? xD
Well, I like the idea of the pack being split up like this – maybe it’s just me ^^’ But well, that’s my idea, I don’t know if we can come up with more than just one idea for the competition?
Robyn's original plot: After a particularly harsh winter in Hexasol, things began to look up. The wet and miserable weather had almost completely disappeared, replaced by bright sunny skies and relaxing warmth. This summer would be one to brighten up the lives of the cats and dogs of Hexasol, particularly after the vicious battle that raged between the two packs, leaving many dead, wounded or missing.
They came in the dead of night, slipping into the territories unnoticed to sit before the leaders. The messengers stood before the alphas, dropping in front of them each a large deer carcass and offering them an invitation. “There is more where that came from, should you chose to accept our invitation. We will send a messenger at dawn three days from now.” Was all they would say and left. With the new lease of life the summer had brought, the deer population in the surrounding wilds had boomed, with plenty of prey for all and one individual, the Master – a lone beast of unknown origin who ruled over the wilds as own, - had observed the violence raged between the packs over the winter and had decided that an end needed to be put to it…for now.
He sent messengers in the night, inviting each of the packs – Tempest, Iris and Lexis to a large clearing in the wilderness, about a day’s journey from Hexasol. As they arrived, he explained to them what was on offer. The Hexasol Games. Each clan would compete over the next three days in a mini tournament. All he asked was civility between the tribes and he would offer them plenty of food – in the shape of fresh deer carcasses. There would be chances to compete and win prizes; resources that would be advantageous for the survival of each pack (in the forms of food, water, medicines, enrichment).
My idea is to get all the packs together in one place for a sort of games tournament/celebration. There'll be lots of silly events, like races, hunting games, team building exercises, cats having to sit on dogs backs and try to knock each other off etc, silly fun stuff!, the possibilities for friendships and romance with character's an individual in a pack wouldn't normally necessary meet.
And it's all thanks to the 'Master', an old animal who lives and rules the wilds outside of Hexasol and his 'messengers' - loyal animals who serve him. He could be made a playable position if need be. He'd be like the overseer of the games, make sure everything was going smoothly. There's to be no killing at these games. That's one of the conditions the pack have to agree to to join. But there's no reason to stop some packs trying to sabotage each other in games etc.
And there is also possibility to extend this for a while. They could come, have their games etc but what is the true motives of the 'Master'? Why is he so interested in what is going on in Hexasol. Maybe in the future when we need another plot he could use the trust he's built up through his first celebration to launch a take over bid for Hexasol, to claim it for his own and then the packs would have to unite (much to their disdain I'd assume) to save their city from this new intruder who threatens the livelihood of all of them. They'd have to realise they'll have to live with the Tempest/Lexis/Iris pride if they want to survive against this greater evil. OH THE POSSIBILITIES.
Well done. The tokens will be awarded accordingly (:
