A small chill ran through the air as Dorian walked up to the large cement mass. His curiosity of what laid around the city had peaked as of recent, so he set off in search of natural beauty around him. The giant structure laid before him, lingering with the stench of cats and dogs alike. None to fond of the smell, regardless, it may be worth the viewing. He entered the grand opening, marked by a small ramp and a looming distressed yellow bar hanging above by rusted chains.
Immediately the lasting smells of ‘marked territory’ coated his nose. ”Disgusting,” Dorian whispered to himself as his paw shot up to cover his nose for a brief moment. Taking in a quick deep breath, and holding it, he padded along fastened in pace. There was something alluring about the large, dusty metal traps to him. Dorian stepped by each, seeing how they all varied in sizes and shapes. A door was left open on a behemoth of a car. The interior differed in color shade from the outside, and the texture appeared of leather. Unknown of the name, it happened to be a favorite of Dorians.
Delighted, in an investigative mindset, he wondered over. Dorian decided to test for sounds, maybe there was life inside the car and he didn’t want to be the one to find it. ’Quiet,’ maybe it was safe to look in. Climbing the small step up, then once more onto the black leather bound seats. Finally taking a breath. Irresistibly, Dorian sniffed the chair backing before rubbing his side on the smooth surface. Stepping over the center tray, he peered out the dirty windshield as best he could. He took in everything he could, having sat in the front seat with his front paws standing on the wheel.
Suddenly, frightening himself, his whole weight was supported by the horn and the massive car’s blaring uproar of sound bellowed. ’Not good,’ the thought instantly raced to the front of his mind. With all the stir of scents, he couldn’t tell if he was alone in the building. Could they tell where the sound came from?’ Dorian would wait to see; he hid his body just under the seat, forgetting to keep his twitching tail under the seat with him.

The air was uncomfortably humid and sticky, although there were sharp pangs of wind that blew hard enough to make Amphire flinch. Veering around a street corner, sticking her side as close to the wall as possible, Amphire ambled her way down the dim, morning lit concrete. Oblivious to where she was actually headed, she had started to turn her head from side to side, investigating her surroundings. There was a loud 'clang' as a trashcan in an alley way right in front of her barreled over. Her back arched up, and fur on end, she tiptoed cautiously towards the entrance before she was trampled by two cats yowling and hissing at one another. Amphire, carrying a fit of her own, started after them, while she screeched hoarse curses, her vocals rattling in her throat in protest as she did so.
Amphire licked her front paw, before briefly swiping it over her head, her eyes narrowing into horizontal slits as she watched the fading silhouettes of the cats that had run her over. She figured; why waste her time with stupid cats, when she could be doing something important. But something important like what? She scoffed, before twisting her head back and forth, soon, the rest of her body followed the natural rhythm, as she attempted to physically shake off the recent memory of being trampled. At least no one was around. Turning haughtily on her heels, she strolled towards an unidentified destination. Rounding another corner, once again, Amphire, peered in to the wide entry way, her eyes wide as she took in the scenery.
Bunches and bunches of square metal boxes on wheels, of all different shapes and colors. Striding towards one that particularly caught her interest, she stretched her neck, and proceeded to sniff, and rub her cheek and side along it. Making her way towards a flat tire, she sniffed it, and pulled back, disgustingly. The stench of rubber was faint, but it still had an undesirable smell to it. Scrunching up her muzzle, she parted her mouth and gnawed on the tire before rearing her head up and gazing around in boredom. Amphire casually trotted around the car several times, deciding if she would see if something was inside. There were openings on the sides, big enough for her to jump through. Crouching down, her eyes fixated on her target, she propelled her weight forward with her hind legs, leaping into the interior of the car.
The orange dappled feline explored the inside of the car for quite some time, chewing, and scratching on the leather, although raking her claws against leather didn't have a very pleasant feeling. Amphire extended the length of her body forward in a stretch, whilst her jaws spread widely apart in a gaping yawn. Jumping into the back seat, she sat on the floor, before lazily crumbling into an awkward, but comfortable lying position. With her ears flat against her head, she slowly tapped the thick base of her tail against the seat, creating a soothing tone to lull her into a brisk nap.
. . .
An extremely loud, obnoxious, blaring noise rattled in her ears, before she attempted to spring on her limbs, and hit her head against the back of the seat in the process. Still in a sleep-drunken state, she hopped into the front of the car, from where the noise had derived from. There was a twitching form of a tail in front of her, and she struck her body forward in an attempt to bite at it. A high pitched hiss emanated from her body, before she followed the tail down to what would be a body, but unseen to her. Hunkering herself over the seat, she flung her front limbs forward in an attempt to claw at whatever was under there. Snorting at her possible failed attempts, she was now slightly curious to where the sound came from.
Amphire sniffed around, crawling onto the dashboard, and around the seats, before landing on the steering wheel, and the blaring noise that was created was crying out again. Amphire, jerked back, surprised. Her ears perked forward, alert, interested. The tabby perched herself on the steering wheel before placing a paw on it. Nothing. She dragged her paw across it. Still nothing. Now quite frustrated with herself, she whacked at the round object before it gave the sound she had been waiting for. "Cool," she beamed, excitedly. Amphire tried the button again, and rested her weight on it, before falling back into the seat, and resting her gaze on what would be the hidden cat.

A hiss followed Dorian under the seat, flinging his tail, tucking it into his body. He laid, quiet and still until the being that’d found him had seem to of lost interest. He’d let up his solid statued state only once the offensive attack, and snort/hissing had ceased. Squeezing through the back metals of the car, he found himself on the flooring of the backseat. He leap quietly onto the wreckage of the backseat, leaning over to peer at who had joined him. They seemed to be trying to re-create the awful thundering noise, Dorian remembered how he’d set it off.
She spoke, seeming riveted by figuring out how the booming sound now worked. All too please with herself, he watched as she rested backward into the chair. He watched her, appraised her, ‘maybe she’ll be worth my time.’ Not that he’d had much to do, having fed himself already and holding no other obligations to others. He peered closely at the female, had she fail to notice him just a foot to the back of her. He cleared his throat loudly, following with a ”hello,” he spoke in a cool gentlemanly voice.
He waited, seeing if she’d respond just as negatively to him as she had before, though she could see him fully now. He was larger then her, taller as well. Dorian knew he couldn’t underestimate anyone, even if they were smaller. One lithe move, a simple claw swipe, could land him with a scar. Vanity was all the world had, in his mind, and should he lose his perfect appearance then he wouldn’t be worth a breath of air. He’d be more then willing to leave the metal trap filled with bedding and caused boisterous noises, if she wished him too. Though, it wasn't often Dorian came across others, lacking scars at that.

After a short moment of time, of just sitting there, Amphire, heaved a ragged sigh. There was definitely something under there, and if it wanted to hide now after her waking her up, oh, it'd be taught a lesson. Amphire, narrowed her eyes before hunkering her top half over the seat, wiggling her hindquarters, as she eased herself as far over as possible. She didn't see anything. Scoffing, she twitched her left ear in quaint disappointment of something to entertain her for the moment. Amphire turned to haul herself out of the opening she came, before a raspy noise emanating behind her, startled her.
In a matter of seconds, the orange tabby, twisted fully around hissing, and gave off a yowl, before she swatted at the cat. In no real attempt to make contact, maybe just to persuade it to back off. "Hello." It spoke simply. Quite endearing, and inviting possibly, but Amphire was still too stricken about being snuck up on. With her fur bristling, she scrambled awkwardly onto the dashboard, her claws sliding across the surprisingly sleek surface. With her limbs clumsily extended under her body, she attempted to stop moving. Breathing unnecessarily heavy, Amphire, gathered her limbs, and carefully placed them under her body in a crouching position.
Still gathering her breath, Amphire gazed at the white and black feline, her ears pressed tightly to her skull defensively. Narrowing her eyes once again, the tabby scrutinized the male over non-too discreetly. He had a very masculine build, quite bulky, and, well, handsome. His colors weren't unique, but the pattern certainly was. Quite mismatched, and different unlike herself. While examining the male, her head perked up, and she rearranged herself into a lazy sitting position. He was quite beautiful. Thinking she had spent enough time gazing over the male, she caught sight of his eyes. Wow, she had never seen such a deep, dark yellow. Quite mysterious.
Casually casting her head to the side for a moment, as if disinterested, but just to cover up how long she was gawking at the male. It was no surprise Amphire thought of him as beautiful, she thought of mostly everything beautiful and gorgeous, except herself. Returning her attention to the male, she slowly licked her jowls, before gradually scooting down into a lying position, with her fore paws crossed neatly over each other. Scanning the male once more for any offensive nature, she twitched her whiskers, before casually sending out a response to the greeting the male had sent what seemed like a while ago. "Hello," she cooed, extending her neck out mockingly. She gave a fake-genuine smile, before raking her rough tongue against her leg.

Any advancement towards aggression deterred Dorian; he backed slightly from the female. Not showing fear, more a precaution, the same even look never strayed form his face. She crouched, though his gut never gave him any fear she would strike him. If she were going to strike him, even out of fear, she would’ve done it. Her paw swipes would’ve made contact, no cat was that terrible at aim.
She stayed, defensive, while his face never changed; only to blink. Discreetly his eyes ran up and down the orange tabby’s body. From what he could tell she seemed thin, easy on the eyes, and colors quite different his plain duel colored fur. Knowing if he showed no aggression she would soon calm herself. As predicted, the female set herself relaxed.
Dorian copied her posture, leaning backward against the torn leather. Lifting his paw he began cleaning himself, alternating and repeating between licking and wiping over his ear. He played casual, easy enough for him. She held no visual interest to him, though physical interest of a female never strayed from his mind. He chose to stay, not knowing how she would play into his life. The last female he passed had almost left him with a mark, mainly due to his personality.
He learned from that, never be too forward, or too coy, or too pushy, or too anything. Slowly he learned how to play each cat he crossed paths with. Just before his encounter with the female, he’d met a few mixed breed cats. Each feline he’d found had different thoughts, and mindsets. It intrigued him almost as much as the beauty he found in the world.
Dorian brought himself back from his thoughts, eyeing the female as she lowered herself. After a short bit of time she finally responded verbally to him. He flashed his teeth in a smile as a response, no where near genuine, but Dorian never gave a genuine smile to anyone. ”I’m Dorian,” he spoke soothingly. He kept a calm tone, no need to give any offensive or defensive infliction in his voice. Remaining in his relaxed sit, studying the tabby. ”And you are?”

The male's lips pulled back, exposing his teeth in what she inferred, a fake smile. Something she had given off moments ago. Amphire narrowed her eyes playfully, now interested in the male. "I'm Dorian." Hm. Dorian. It was different. Clearly not something stupid, like Petal, Muffins, or Fluffy. She inwardly seethed at the thought. The tabby blinked her eyes a couple of times, resting her attention back on the cat-Dorian. "Dorian." She said, as if tasting the word, she flicked her tongue along her jowls. "Dorian." Her eyes squinted as if she was having an internal battle whether she liked the name or not. Amphire rolled her tongue in her mouth, dramatically carrying on the simple act of exchanging a name, and averted her gaze, concentrating, before flashing her wide eyes back to Dorian, with an exquisite smile on her face. Apparently, she liked his name.
"And you are?" At this, she raised her head slightly, to eye down the black and white cat, known as Dorian. Her eyes darted back and forth from his eyes, to his face, and back to his eyes, before she stood. Positioning herself, so her side was facing him, she turned her head to look at him before clumsily sliding across the dashboard to the other side before ungracefully jumping off into the passenger's seat. In her actions, she had put too much effort into it, and her chest and face smacked into the leather, and the air exited her muzzle with a lazy 'Oof' . Catching her grip on the leather, she faced the male again, before haughtily shaking her head in attempts to play off her clumsy act. Hopefully it worked.
Amphire cleared her throat before lowering her head, and languidly stepped towards Dorian, with the impression of stalking him. She stopped at his side, and extended her neck to sniff him, before pulling back quickly. "Now why should I tell you my name, Dorian?" She questioned, positioning her head to scrutinize him. She tried to take another step towards him, but fell back onto her haunches, and again made no note of it happening. "What if you're a stalker, or a crazy, or-or, a killer!" She said, her voice rising slightly, as she dramatically rolled her head and shoulders whilst talking. "Well, I guess you wouldn't need my name.." She thought a loud, before lowering her head sheepishly.
Amphire looked to the side for a moment, to regain herself. Maybe if she just shut up for a moment, he wouldn't think she was mentally ill. No...she'd have to keep talking. She turned her head back to the male, and placed her paws out in front of her, before dragging her hindquarters forward. "I'm Amphire." The female purred for an extended amount of time, liking the way she said her own name. She cocked her head to the side, and blinked several times awkwardly in an attempt to bat her eyes. She looked like she was having a seizure. The tabby chuckled softly in attempt to cover up her actions, before lowering her head and tilting her head up, gazing at Dorian, waiting for his reaction.

Dorian’s rump still on the seat, his tail briskly brushed against the chair. He eye’d the female, she was awfully peculiar to him, nothing like those he’s met before. She repeated his name, allowing him to give an appropriate look of confusion. Quite conspicuously, his deep amber eyes watched her. Was she purposely like this? Or have I caught her off guard? It was entertaining to the male, his broad head tilted slightly as he watched her move.
The tabby flew across the dashboard, landing face first into the front seat. Quickly Dorian’s head flew to the side, looking away to suppress a laugh. She clearly wasn’t a graceful cat, but she did attempt to play the entire event off. The male’s chest puffed but he denied the laugh, holding his breath until he could stay composed. He stayed seated in the same spot, just watching the female. She placed herself at Dorian’s side, and quickly sniffed him. He kept his head turned toward her, as she finally addressed him.
Dorian listened to the female go on, scoffing. She had no reason to not trust, and he hadn’t given any signs of aggression. ”Another flaw in your suspicions; I could’ve killed you, if that had been my intentions, by now. And if that had been my purpose, why would I of announced myself?” Her quiet spoken thought proved she had drawn the same conclusion he’d been attempting to make. It was true though, he didn’t mean harm. Dorian sat up, proud that he’d held his own. He avoided eye contact, observing her from the corner of his eye. She was certainly quirky as compared to other felines he's met.
”Amphire,” his smooth voice repeated just after she’d said it. ”Well Amphire,” he spoke as his front legs extended out next to her. Arching his back, the male dipped into a stretch. Finishing with with back legs lengthening out, he stepped over directly next to Amphire's other side. ”It’s certainly a pleasure to make your aquaintance,” he purred out softly.

The tabby's eyes slitted as she listened as the cat mocked her. She had barely started to bristle by the time he was done talking. She had already doubted her suspicions, but she had spoken her mind anyway. She relaxed again, her shoulders dropping, she tilted her head upward, attempting to look down slyly at the male. "Well, how could a beautiful cat like myself," she had glanced to the side to catch a quick glimpse of herself in the windshield, and to no avail saw the boring orange tabby looking back at her, clearly not backing up what she had said. ",resist such a strong and handsome male as yourself?" She questioned slowly, a wry grin suppressing on her features. She casually flicked her tongue from her muzzle, and swiped it over her nose briskly, before shooting a toothy grin at Dorian.
Amphire stood, languidly tossing her tail around her hindquarters, as she beamed at the male again. "Come on darlin', it's not that hard to explain," she chuffed, gently extending her fore paw forward in attempts to land on his chest playfully. His head turned to the side, and she watched observantly, as he subtly tried to look at her through the corner of his eye. She tilted her head down, mischievously beckoning him to try something. "Amphire," she purred at the sound of her name, she gazed up and opened her mouth to say, 'Yes?' when the dual-colored male spoke again. "Well Amphire," she watched his legs extend next to her, she looked at Dorian, puzzled. He stretched his length out next to her, she watched the muscles roll fluently under his hide, and her features perked up, obviously enjoying the show he was giving her.
"It's certainly a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Dorian purred as he stepped next to her, as they stood side by side she couldn't help but match his purr with one of her own. On impulse, she closed the gap between them, her back arching as she attempted to rub her side along his for a brisk moment of time, before she froze in her tracks. What if this male didn't like being touched? What if he just lashed out at her? Had she crossed boundaries? They had only exchanged a few words after all. Although, he didn't seem like the type. "Uh, yours too?" she answered, almost as a question. Amphire slowly turned around in the seat, so her head was beside his. She casually looked him over, a grin tugging on the corner of her muzzle, before she extended her neck, and attempted to playfully tug on his ear.
She had reluctantly let go, and leaned back to raise a paw and bat at his head. She chuckled childishly, before bringing her paw back down on the seat. "So Dorian," she started, taking interest in her swinging tail, before looking back at him and continuing her question, ",what now?" What was there to do? It's not like she had anything interesting to talk about. And as if she was taken over by impulse, Amphire leaned her weight over, her fore paws outstretched in an attempt to wrap around Dorian's head, while she opened her jowls to gently gnaw at his ear again. Her tail started to flick back and forth excitedly, and she pushed forward in hopes to pin him on the seat.
If successful, she batted delightfully at his side, while attempting to roll on top of the male and gnaw at the nape of his neck. Grinning widely, she reached to slowly drag her sheathed paw across his face, with an expression of delight plastered on her features. Grinning widely, Amphire scrambled off of the male, and towards the door. She attempted to fling herself onto the opening, but slid off unsuccessfully. Trying for a second time, she grasped onto the narrow opening where a window once was, and leaned forward to peer down. But, to her surprise, she leaned too far over, and fell out of the car, and landed on her paws, of course. If it weren't for that built in cat device for always falling on her paws, she would've landed on her face.
Amphire shook herself off, and looked back up to the opening, hoping Dorian would jump out after her to continue the little 'game' she had started. She sat on her haunches and waited, looking eagerly up with wide, hopeful eyes. After a moment of impatience, Amphire meowed softly, before trotting up to the metal box, and placed her fore paws on it, and looked longingly upwards. Pursing her lips, she yowled loudly, with hopes he would possibly come down hearing her commotion. After nothing, she batted with her paws against the car, landing soft thuds against it, and called up towards him, "Dorian?"

The female played into Dorian’s wants, whether he believed it was his doing or not. He wanted her to want him, his ego forbid it any other way. Her fur brushed against his, freezing momentarily, was she second guessing her actions? It was understandable to him, they were mere stranger strike the knowledge of their names. For all she knew he could be a murderer, crazed, with a facade that he meant peace; and as far as he knew, she could be the same. A thin line a mutual trust grew from their actions, or lack of violent ones.
Dorian kept his eye on her, glancing to side to read the tabby’s facial expressions. His head leaned down, and eye closed, as she tugged on his ear. He wasn’t one for frisky, playful, behavior. It occurred to him, however, that that would be the only way to keep her attention at the moment.. so he thought. He hid the annoyance he found in her actions, allowing a small chuckle as he licked his paw and swiped it over his ear. His demeanor perked, and a grin tugged on his lips when she spoke his name. As long as she kept her focus on him, and didn’t put a hair out of place on his pelt, she had his attention. ”What now?”
He had no ideas, he’d only come to this place to occupy himself. The giant metallic boxes were interesting, but they all seemed the same in some way. They would surely lose their mystique, and Dorian would have to find something new to pass the time. He thought of joining a great pride he’d heard of, but battle... or more so battle scars weren’t his forte. So, wandering around Hexasol had become his latest hobby. Luckily for him, he’d found another feline.. one female that seemed as willing to inflate his ego as much as he’d like.
Brought back from thought, Dorian was taken surprise as the female wrapped her paws around his head. Again, playful in nature, and gnawed on his ear. Her weight, and unexpected attack, caused his front legs to give out to the side and landing him on his side. She nipped at the nape of his neck. Dorian put up a light struggle to get back to his feet, though knew he was in no superficial danger. She was so light-hearted, somehow managing to get Dorian to genuinely grin. Was he having fun? because of this female none the less. It was different for him, no one had taken a particular interest in jolly around him. He didn’t have to charm her to gain her interest, and this lively female had interacted the opposite then he’d expected.
Dorian made a few swipes at her, gentle, and claw-free; attempts to seem like he was trying to escape from her bombardment. Amphire took off towards the door; Dorian rolled back to his feet, watching the female as she slid at first, but managed up on the large opening. His ears perked, and his gaze was stuck on seeing where her eyes were looking. That was until the tabby leaned to far over, falling right from where a window had once been. Dorian’s reaction was slow, a lot of him was still processing the enjoyment he’d had play-fighting. It was quite unlike him to act so.. carefree. He’d been brought back to reality by a soft meow, then followed by a louder yowl. He trotted over the window, landing his front paws against the top. He peeked over just as Amphire called out his name.
He flashed a grin at her, then jumped to balance himself in the opening. Quickly, he leaped down next to her. ”You called?” He wasn’t behaving as himself, this side of him never showed. Dorian gave another wide grin before attempting to hop on top of the tabby. He attempted to copy her actions from earlier, this being new to him and unknown of how to go about play-fighting. After a few solid nips towards her ears, he bounded off towards a ramp near the back of the giant structure. Within a few seconds, he found himself another level higher and companionless. In one motion, he flung his torso around.. rump following in suit. He let out a playful meow, fixing his stance for a head-on attack, and waited for the female.
