"Talk"
It was early in the morning, a heavy fog hanging like a curtain over the land. It was so thick, that the spotted cat could barely see his paws as he walked along the land, not really seeing where he was going and not really caring either. Such was his distress as simple things that he usually found essential, like knowing exactly where he was going at every minute of the day now seemed of little help. So now, not only was he distressed, he was nervous too. The reason of his internal turmoil was a recurring dream he had been having. He always saw that terrible day, the dog attack. And then they would turn for him, and he knew exactly what was going to happen, but he always woke up. And it always left him tortured, because although the dream didn't go to the most terrible part of the attack, he relived it over and over in his mind afterwards, which was worse, because if it had been in the dream, he would have been relieved to wake up.
The cat shook his head. He couldn't lose his cool like that. He had to focus, be careful. There was a war going on, and it would be foolish to be caught of guard because of a stupid dream. Besides, he could deal with all of that later. He couldn't do anything now. He swallowed back the guilt, the shame of his actions, the fact that he had abandoned his two sisters to be killed by the dogs because he was a coward. He wouldn't a wimp like that. No. He had proved himself in other battles. He had become smart and cunning. He wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
His pawsteps careful and silent, the cat listened carefully to his surroundings. He was in somewhere open, as the sounds around him didn't echo, and, feeling the grass under his paws, deduced he was in a field. His ears perked as he heard small paws running along in front of him. He was downwind of the creature, and he opened his mouth to scent the air. It was a rabbit, which caused his mouth to water. Dropping into a crouch, the clouded leopard approached it slowly, his ears following it's movements. Closer and closer he edged, not seeing the creature but knowing where it was, until he was near enough. Pouncing into action, the cat gave a burst of speed, his powerful hindquarters giving him the propulsion needed to run after the swift prey. Luckily, he had caught it off guard, and easily caught it between his teeth. After a few kicks, the rabbit died, caught in the deeply penetrating teeth of the predator.
He wanted to eat it up in a tree, but he continued walking and there was no tree anywhere. After a moment, the ground changed under his paws. It had become rocky. He jumped in surprise as a rock fell next to him from above, but then froze as he heard the sharp sound echo on walls above and beside him. He seemed to be in a cave. Normally, he hated enclosed spaces, but this one was big enough for him to feel comfortable. He continued forward, the ground sloping gently downward. The fog started to thin and in a few minutes, he could see where he was going. Where he had stopped, a small hole in the wall let some amount of light in, and his night vision compensated for the rest. Laying down, the cat dropped his kill on the ground, and listening intently for any other creature, he started to eat.
