i can't remember, but i can't forget you.
Dark clouds rolled across the sky as the wind whipped violently through the port causing the boats that still floated to creak and groan as they shifted in the water. Thunder rumbled ominously overhead and fur was set on end from the crackling lightning that streaked haphazardly across the sky. The sun had sunk down some time ago, and the already dark sky had only darkened more with the arrival of the storm clouds that gathered along the massive expanse of sky. Waves lapped against the sides of the rocking boats, slowly becoming more and more violent as the storm grew in power. Many animals had already run for cover so the canine that now moved slowly down the port was the only sign of life in the large port. His eyes held an angry glint as he moved faster, not wanting to allow his fur to become sodden by the impending rain.
Radley zeroed in on the large cruise ship ahead of him, eyes trained on the boards that lead up to the opening in the side of the floating mass of metal. An annoying niggling started in the back of his head, and panic filled him as he quickened his pace. He couldn't have an attack out here in the open, he was so vulnerable when it happened, his limbs would refuse to move for hours at a time and the pain that was generally accompanied with the attacks wasn't something he recovered quickly from. A large gust of wind knocked him slightly to the side and he pushed himself into a sprint, the little tugging in the corner of his mind slowly growing to a sharp stabbing pain as it tried to force him to pay attention. His paws hit the boards leading into the ship and relief began to flood through him, but he couldn't relax until he was inside somewhere away from the weather and other creatures. As he entered the side of the ship darkness engulfed his frail figure, curling around him like arms welcoming him into a cold embrace.
Taking a sharp right he padded down the long hall, keeping his left side pressed gently against the wall in hopes of finding a room he could bunker down in. The cracked paint snagged at his fur, breaking off of the wall to log itself in his thick coat as he wandered through the hall, his steps becoming slower as memories surfaced in his mind until his paws stopped moving all together and he slumped to the ground letting out a soft, pitiful whine. A sweet scent filled his nostrils, filling him with happiness and intense emotions of love before three distinctly female voices chorused his name, the pain in them evident as they begged for his help, all asking for him to save them from whatever horrible fate had befell them. Spasms shook Radley's body as he covered his ears, trying to block out the sounds, but these weren't actual voices that he could just block out, they were all thing he'd experienced once before. He hadn't a clue who these females were, or what it was that he'd done to them, and that pained him almost as much as the snatches of conversations or faces that plagued his feeble mind.
Just as soon as the attack started, it was over and instead of intense, crippling pain the small male only felt a dull throbbing in his skull. Radley managed to shakily climb to his feet and a buzzing filled his ears before he heard the noises of the storm outside. Rain pounded against the side of the ship as the wind buffeted it from side to side. He took a few steps down the corridor, dragging his tail along the wall this time, paws scraping the ground and muscles twitching with the effort it took to drag his pathetic self down the hall. Right now he wanted nothing more than to find a bed and curl up for a long rest.
