A long day of running with little breaks had a sleek medium sized cat panting as she came to a stop near an old abandoned log cabin. If there had been any humans, they would have a called a baby leopard and run. Of course, she was a leopard but she was a clouded leopard. She was a smaller version of her cousins and her name was Saphira. She had been on the run looking for any signs of her brothers and sister. Shaking her fur, she looked around for any sign of movement. She could see birds nesting in trees but, nothing else. She then crept closer to the log cabin, keeping her claws out should someone be around. Peeking around the open door she looked to see a small little room where a fire had died out. Sniffing around didn't find her anything so she continued to investigate.
When she had checked all the rooms, she sighed and decided she would stay there for the night. Hungry, she padded back outside, making sure to mark her territory as she left. After catching a nearby rabbit, she carried it back to the cabin. Another successful hunt and a full belly, she stretched, yawning as she did. Feeling tired, she decided to head to bedroom where she snuck under the covers, conviently still there and in somewhat good condition, curled into a ball and fell fast assleep as soon as her head touched her paws.

{ Grizzly;; It wasn't often that the male found himself within the boundaries of the forest, but he'd been wandering and just wandered right into it. He hadn't realized how beautiful a forest really was, even if fall was ending and winter was taking over. Only a few trees still had a plentiful supply of leaves, but they were brown and soon they'd die off. Grizzly hated winter, because it limited his travels. Even if he was a Maine coon, it would take him forever to walk through a good layer of snow. Thankfully, snow had yet to come; though the chilly, frosty wind had arrived.
Soon, the wind blowing against Grizzly became too much and he decided that he'd need to find shelter for the night. A large brown object about a mile ahead, caught his attention. When he arrived at it, he could already smell the remnants of another feline... but he didn't know whether or not the feline was still inside. Proceeding carefully, he padded up the stairs, being as quiet as he could. The door was halfway off of its hinges but it still did a wonderful job at protecting the inside from the wind.
Sliding through the halls, he never spotted the feline until he smelt her. Grizzly peered his head into the bedroom, scanning the place, before noticing the bump in the blankets. He figured the cat must be trying to get as cozy and warm as possible. Also, he noticed that the cat wasn't exactly a small cat either. Sitting in the doorway, he let his fluffy tail curl around his lower body. He let a yawn out before making a slight noise, a meow almost; to warn the cat that company had arrived. Now he just needed to introduce himself and make it known that he wasn't a threat. Well, he wasn't ...as long as she wasn't.
"Hello." he announced, almost sleepily.

Stirring out of a rather peaceful nap, Saphira lifted her head to figure out why she had woken up. If she hated anything with a passion it was being disturbed from a good nap. Looking around what she could see without moving the blanket, she was tempted to go back to sleep before she heard a voice say "Hello". Now fully awake, Saphira uncurled herself and removed herself from the warmth of the blankets and looked to see a cat in the door way. Shaking herself, she padded over to the edge of the bed and cocked her head at the new comer. Seeing it really wasn't much a threat from the size of the intruder, she relaxed slightly.
As she looked at the small, what could only be a domestic cat of some breed, Saphira tried to figure out what to say. She wasn't know to be exactly pleasant after having just been woken up. Still, she lay down on the edge of the mattress and crossed her front legs before turning back to the cat. It seemed innocent enough but so were the strangers that ripped her family apart. Shaking her head to ride herself of the depressing thoughts, she lowered her head before deciding to introduce herself.
"Hello. My name is Saphira." she said, flicking her tail lazily. She wasn't exactly in the mood for fighting so until this cat showed her it's intentions. She would stay on the bed and wait. She was rather lonely but she was still not prepared to take any chances. Even if the cat was a bit on the small side. No, she would see what the cat had to say before deciding on a line of action.

{ Grizzly;;
It's always been interesting to the cat as to why almost every time he smells an animal, he automatically has to go and announce himself and how he poses no threat to them. It was like a routine for him. As far back as he could remember he'd always followed this routine, perhaps even when he was a little kitten. Of course, the routine back then was probably much sloppier as a kitten but now he had it down to an art. An art that he swore kept him out of trouble, out of fights.
Grizzly really couldn't get a read on the medium cat to whom he'd introduced himself. She looked shady, like she was debating making a attack. He wasn't a fighter by no means, and he'd most likely just make a run for it if the feline tried to come at him. Though, despite his worries, the medium sized cat chose a neutral way of sitting and soon introduced herself to be Saphira. "Hello. My name is Saphira." she said, a bit more relaxed looking. Grizzly's mind was set at ease when the white flag had been raised and Saphira somewhat dropped her appearance of a challenge.
The freezing air would still slip in through the cracks of the house and roof, making Grizzly shiver and make his teeth chatter almost silently. His winter coat was just now starting to thicken up, but it'd be another week or two before he would be a little better protected from this frosty weather. Shaking himself as to shake off the cold, Grizzly met Saphira's eyes. "Nice to meet you, Saphira. I'm Grizzly. I just wanted to make you aware of my presence and that I'm no threat." he replied, with a friendly grin on his face. Though he was a heaping 18lbs, perhaps even heavier now that he's older, Grizzly really was no threat. He always assumed he could be a threat if need be, but there had never been a need. Was it strange for a cat in Hexasol to have never been involved in a fight? It's not like he'd stayed a hermit crab nor had he stayed out of trouble either, he was just really good at sensing bad vibes. He learned that when he felt a bad vibe, the best thing to do was to just get his cat arse out of there. Grizzly was no dare devil. He was an adventurer, but one who preferred to keep his life as long as he could so he could explore as much as he could.
Shifting his body weight, he let out a small yawn before scanning the bedroom that Saphira had chosen to rest in. It made sense that she'd come to the bedroom, where only a small portion of the cold air was actually hitting her. Grizzly would most likely head to the attic and cuddle into the tiniest nook he could before entering a long slumber. Though he'd have to check out the attic first, for all he knew it could have a huge air draft. "Saphira, you didn't scan the attic did you? I think that would be the perfect spot for me to try and mimic hibernation." he asked, laughing at the end of his question.

Saphira tensed up slightly when the other feline started to speak, but instantly loosened up when Grizzly announced he had not intended to scare her. She nodded in acceptance and decided that the feline was of no real threat to her and she should move. Slowly she got to her feet and walked over to the right side of the bed. Taking a deep breath, she took the chance and with feline grace hopped off the small bed and landed perfectly. Shaking herself, she trotted back over shyly to Grizzly so as to not show signs of threat and then lay down like she had on the bed. She could see much clearer that the cat was a bit bigger than her original thought and in no way was a small cat. ‘Never judge a cat by its size.’ She thought as she took in Grizzly’s appearance.
She had to admit that he was certainly charming standing there, looking very much out of his comfort zone, not that she wasn’t, but still it was amusing. Deciding that she had the upper hand if things went wrong, she made the decision to try and befriend Grizzly. When Grizzly asked her about the attic, Saphira felt like someone had dumped ice water on her. She shook her head. He was just trying to be polite. Still, she had seen the attic and it had several large hole and was no place for anyone.
‘What was the polite thing to do here?’ she wondered as she thought about what to say to the new comer. She certainly wasn’t bothered that he was there with her, in fact, she welcomed it. However, there weren’t many places for him to stay either.
After struggling internally with herself, she came to the same conclusion. With a yawn and a lazy flick of her tail, she said, “I’ve explored most of this old house and the attic is probably one of the worse parts of it for holes. However, we’re two mature felines so if you’d like to sleep in here with me, you are welcome to. Besides, you look like you need to warm up and get some food in you. Why don’t you rest for a bit and I’ll go rustle up some meat for the both of us.” Finished, she looked away from Grizzly feeling somewhat proud of herself. She had said her piece and now it was up to the other to answer her.

{ Grizzly;; After reading what Saphira had said about the attic, Grizzly felt sort of bummed. Attics were his thing. They were his favorite and they were safer. Though when she mentioned them both being mature adults and being able to share the bedroom, he perked up a bit. He struggled not to chuckle at the 'mature adult' part. Mature was the last thing he considered himself. Overall Grizzly was very mature and smart but he almost wished he was still an immature kitten. Back then, it was easier to snag friends. He wondered if he should mention his disability to Saphira; she didn't seem like the type that would suddenly take off because of it. Except, now he wondered if he would make her think he could hear fine. Was it rude to do that? He figured some could take that as foolery. Ending his mental debate, he kept his eyes on Saphira who was now turned away from him.
"I don't mind sharing the room at all, that's nice of you to offer, thank you. And you really don't have to find food if you don't want to. Either way, thank you." he replied. It was extremely kind of her to offer getting him food. It seemed like she was going to get it anyways considering she was already turned away. He leaped onto the bed, just to get comfy. If she ended up not getting food, he wouldn't mind. He wasn't too terribly hungry anyways.
Sighing, he decided he'd wait to see what she chose to do before mentioning his deafness. A few moments of fake normal felt nice to him, lasting a bit longer wouldn't hurt. Though really he doubted it would phase Saphira. She'd probably just become more aware of her facing him when she began to talk.

Saphira sense something was off with Grizzly but felt it was of no importance and simply nodded before leaving the room and toward the front door. Taking caution to make sure no one was around, he scented the cabin once more and then took off. She hadn't gone far in her search when she tasted blood in the air. Following her instincts, she followed the blood trail and came upon a fresh deer carcass. Slowly, she padded closer to the carcass and noticed right away the scent of wolves. Looking around, no was around, but deciding the risk was too great she left and continued her search.
After a while and no luck, Saphira decided to get a better view of the forest and started to climb a tall pine tree. Tired from a long climb, she managed to land on a thick branch and looked around the area. It was very quiet for a forest scenery which concerned her slightly, but she pushed it out of her mind. She looked around and was surprised to spot a young, injured fawn walking around. Had it not been snowing and getting colder, she would have left the fawn alone. But circumstances were changing and so, using all the stealth she had, she descended the tree. Jumping down, she scented the air for the fawn and continued to follow the scent. A few minutes later, she crouched down and peeked around a bush to see the young fawn licking at it's wounded flank.
Slowly, Saphira inched closer, digging her claws into the ground so as to not make any noise. When she was in prime range, she took a deep breath and then launched herself onto the fawn, surprising it. It tried to dart, but was too late and the fawn was weaker from the blood loss. They both crashed to the ground in a tumble of fur as Saphira hit her mark. As the fawn struggled under her weight, she grabbed it's throat in her jaw and the body went limp. Picking herself up, she shook herself and then tried to pick out where the cabin was. Lucky for her, she was about a metre away. Tired but proud, she groaned as she grabbed the fawn and began the long process of dragging it home.
An hour later of tugging and pulling she made it to the log cabin and was finally able to put it down when she had reached the front hallway. Smiling to herself, she marked the area around it and then proceded to enter the bedroom. Using her last bit of energy, she hopped a little clumsily onto the bed and said, "You're in luck. We'll be having deer tonight."
