They’d taken a somewhat peaceful place in Hexasol as their territory. The shopping arcade wasn’t too close to either of the prides of the city, and from the fourth floor they would easily be able to see if someone tried to get near them. Vanessa loved to have a good view of things, so this place was perfect for her. And not just that – if something unfortunate should happen, the fire escapes made fine escape routes if someone should come too near. This was good for the Amazon’s safety, and even though she was sure that her sisters were more than capable to defend themselves, it was still important for Vanessa to know that if the unlikely should happen, they had several ways out. The silver coloured cat sat in a widow and looked out on the city. It was noon, so the frost had been melted by the sun hours ago. But she knew it wouldn’t last like that. Soon enough frost and snow would cover the ground and it would be hard to find prey. They needed to fill up food stores as well as any pride needed to do, just to make sure they wouldn’t starve on unlucky days. She lashed her long tail as she thought, green eyes scanning the city which stretched out beneath her. Yup, this was much better than just sitting in a tree – though that felt great too. When she first had fled her pride she hadn’t been used to see buildings and had been awed by the sight of the big constructions but she’d quickly grown used to it, so she hadn’t been that surprised when they’d come to Hexasol just a week ago. The Russian Blue stood up and looked behind her into the restaurant that had been designed like a diner from the 50ies. The black and white coloured walls with posters of smiling, short-haired women had cracks several places while the black bar and the white shelves behind it collected dust. The restaurant was really a place which would use a helping hand, but all in all the multi-stored shopping arcade was in a fine shape. Putting her forelegs in front of her, Vanessa started to stretch her long body, but the sound of paws on the floor interrupted her and she looked across the diner to its door which led out to the rest of the arcade’s fourth floor. ((OOC: It’s crap and I’m tired but here it is; OPEN THREAD FOR ALL AMAZON MEMBERS ))

She was in awe of what she saw the moment she first stepped into the city. If the young feline hadn't run with her mother and her friend when they had the chance, she would never had known that places like this even existed. Tamera wondered who could have built the many tall buildings and houses she saw on the way to the shopping arcade, the building where she was now exploring the many abandoned shops.
Tamera was exploring an old pet shop. She discovered the items made just for cats and was climbing some of the cat trees, and accidentally knocking some over. After losing interest in the trees, the young Russian blue discovered the pet beds. They were dusty, but still comfortable enough to sleep in. 'Maybe everyone could sleep here.' She thought to herself as she quickly moved out of the shop and looked around. 'If they don't find better places to sleep that is.' So far, the pet shop was the only place she had explored after leaving her mother.
'Speaking of which.' She thought as she continued to look around. Where had Vanessa gone to anyway? After her past betrayal, and because Tamera didn't see herself as a strong fighter, she tended not to leave her mothers' side very much.
She choose a random direction to look for her mother, sniffing at the entrance of doors until she finally caught Vanessa's scent at the diner, but she couldn't see her.
"Mom?" Cautiously, the young feline stepped inside looking left and right.

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/blackmiddle_zps496fa800.jpg]The place was grand. The building was large, many stories in height, built in concrete. The architecture was ornate, but not overly so, still in the more practical style. The square design made it easy to survey, for there were many windows on all sides of the building. They gave a clear view onto the streets below, if need was that they would have to look to the outside. As the ebony cat walked quietly into the building, her fearsome yellow eyes flitted over the hallways and the different shops, making a mental map of the building for later use. The she-cat was already noticing all the nooks and crannies that made good hiding places, letting her eyes slip over the structure, taking in the different access and exit points. There were many, which was a blessing, which meant many different escape routes if it became necessary. Some had a mechanism that needed to be activated so that they opened, but with the right technique, they could be opened. The black she-cat walked to the nearest fire exit, looking at the bar that needed to be pushed so that the door would open. With a graceful jump, the feline pounced onto it, making it lower and opening the door. Purring in satisfaction, the pitch cat jumped back onto the ground silently.
This was the new home of the Amazons, the gang she had joined only recently. It had been almost a week now. The she-cat didn't regret her choice. As much as she hated to admit it to herself, she would sometimes get lonely, doing the job she did. The only contact with others she did have, when not manipulating them into giving her information, was the clients she helped by killing and spying for them. Now, she had several new “sisters”, and although she didn't really agree with the hating males, she had to admit she was rather happy to have contact with females of her own species for a change, without it being related to assassination or spying for them. Besides, the females in the group did exactly the same job as her, and she relished the opportunity to learn from others and perfect her technique. Vanessa, the leader the gang, was one that she quite liked. Her mind was logical and methodical, much like her own. The black she-cat continued exploring the place, sniffing for the scents of the others. She caught the scent of Tamera, the leader's daughter. Although young, the she-cat had much potential. Her mother would train her well, there was no doubt about that. Vanessa doted on her daughter, and that was probably her only weakness.
The ebony she-cat continued walking towards the source of the scents. Finally, she came into view, walking through the door of the arcade. Tamera and Vanessa were already there. ”Hello.” her clear voice resonating in the silence as her emotionless greeting was sent forth. Her emotionless yellow eyes travelled from mother to daughter as she walked closer, keeping a respectful distance. She still was unsure of how to act, but only time would make her at ease.

The sound of paws was soon followed by a voice which Vanessa easily recognized. A warm smile appeared on her lips as her eyes met those of her daughter. She jumped lithely down from the window she’d been sitting in and greeted her shiny jewel with a voice as warm as her smile. ”Tamera.” She stopped in front of her younger reflection to softly rub her head against her daughter’s cheek. Her emerald eyes caught the sight of the scar which a male once had given her, and even though it’d healed well, she still hated the male for hurting her daughter. She should’ve killed him on the spot, but she’d been too concerned about Tamera’s condition to think about proper revenge. Surely she’d frightened him for life, but he didn’t deserve any less – no one should ever dare put an evil paw on her daughter.
”You were looking for me sweetheart?” she partly concluded while looking at the young feline. It was then Vanessa caught the sight of a black creature in the corner of her eye. She turned her head slightly to look at the newly arrived figure, but no wariness was found in her eyes. After all, though this ebony she-cat only had been one of her Amazons for a week’s time, Vanessa still recognized the sound of Black Widow with ease. Having gotten the right training, it was quite easy for the Black Russian to part the sounds of different individuals whom she knew. She dipped her head in greeting as Black Widow emerged, not being too suspicious at the new member anymore. Black Widow proved to be a fine assassin – she’d already gotten a lot of training before joining the Amazons and was therefore a great warrior. In the beginning, Vanessa had been slightly worried about this, knowing that the ebony female could be a dangerous enemy if she proved to be on their wrong side, but even though the female didn’t share their point of view against males, she still seemed to be a quite loyal member. She would definitely be a great cat to have in their team.
”Are you finding yourself comfortable?” she asked Black Widow in a slightly solemn tone. They’d been here for a week’s time by now, and Vanessa personally enjoyed all the different possibilities they had at this place and of course hoped her sisters did the same. But it wasn’t just the place which she asked about. Among the lines, she also wanted to know if Black Widow felt at home with the other Amazons, if they were “taking her in” you could say. Usually they were good at accepting new members, but Vanessa always made sure to ask from time to time. Because apart from her daughter, her sisters were the most important thing in her life, and as their leader, Vanessa would make sure no one felt left out – new or old member alike.

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/halmiddle.jpg] The silver tabby feline bathed in the warm sunlight that shone down from the midday sun. Halcyon pondered her thoughts in silence, resting on the roof of their new home. She was pleased they had chosen the arcade for it was practical in many different ways, for example would be excellent to hide from their enemy upon the four different layers and the numerous shops filled with aging merchandise. Then of course there was the fact that from up here, the Amazons could see nearly the entire city. From where she lay now, by the very edge of the tall building, the Ocicat could see the layout of Hexasol not to mention a few cats and dogs slinking here and there. In fact at that very moment in time, her large forest-green eyes watched quietly as a large doberman padded along the street below. Instinctively she peeled back her dark lips, lashing her tail from left to right but made no sound. He was no threat from all the way up here but Halcyon resented his proximity to their territory, dogs were hardly welcome here. If he dared to place a foot near their Arcade, he would rue the day he was born. The calculating female had been brought up to despise the canine race, and though she disliked following the teachings of the pride she had been born into, Halcyon could not deny her primordial loathing of the species. Voices below and within the shopping mall itself distracted Halcyon slightly, causing her pert triangular ears to twist backwards. A frown flitted across her skull as she questioned what could be occurring, that was until she realised it must just be the gang conversing. They had recruited a couple of members along the journey, and the second in command assumed they must be getting to know the rest of their new 'family'. The five year old grimaced minutely at the word that produced an array of shivers down her long spine, and even bristling her hackles. In her mind there was no such thing. Halcyon knew however that she should go down and introduce herself once more, show her face and yet it was so tranquil up here. Still she was intrigued to discover more about her new gang mates, it was her duty to suss out whether they could be truly trusted or not without becoming completely paranoid. Yawning widely, the silver female stretched out her muscles as she rose to her small paws and turned to head for the fire exit door. Silent as a church mouse, as rapid as a winter breeze, she slipped into the upper level of the arcade before locating the cats. Startlingly green eyes of liquid ivy focused upon the scene a few metres away, standing in the large open doorway of the old diner. Halcyon of course recognized her childhood friend and leader, Vanessa rubbing her daughters head. The Ocicat could not help but shudder as the sight of Tamera brought back haunting memories of what those males had forced upon them both. And yet it was those hard times that had made them who they were today, they had not let themselves be broken by the ignorance and arrogance of the opposite sex. It had taken many years to overcome the prejudices but now everything had changed, the tables had turned it was they who were in charge now. Yet Halcyon could still not quite comprehend the near-irrational and irrevocable love Vanessa held for her child. She could never see herself reproducing, it was such a feminine matter. It was at this moment that she spied another cat, a lithe dark figure emerging from the shadows and presenting herself in front of their alpha. Ah of course, Black Widow. She signed up last week, excellent. The ebony assassin was a superb addition to their new gang, as she was already brilliantly trained and could most definitely pass on information to them all. Halcyon may be stubborn and proud but she was certainly no fool, and understood that to develop one must accept the advice of others. Gathering herself together, she flicked her tail over her head and smoothly glided across the empty floor to approach them. Padding forward and sitting gracefully beside Vanessa, Halcyon curled her lengthy tail around her paws. She dipped her attractive muzzle in greeting at them all, her piercing eyes locking onto Black Widow before glancing at her old friend. The silver tabby's cold blunt voice filtered into the silent air, "Vanessa," then at her offspring, "Tamera," and finally, "Black Widow. How pleasing to meet you again." Sitting straight and poised she acknowledged the blankness in the females eyes and nodded. Indeed she knew how to look out for herself and as long as she didn't turn out to be a spy for an enemy faction, they would get along just fine. [[ ooc ; ooh yay! words ; 814 ]]

It didn't take long for her mother to come into view, jumping down from a window she was sitting in. Tamera returned her mother's warm smile with one of her own as she walked closer to her. She happily rubbed her cheek against her mother's head as she answered. "I was just exploring. I didn't know where you went." Movement in the corner of her eye and the sound of another voice caught her attention.
At one side there was Halcyon, her mother's childhood friend and the second in command of the Amazons. She turned to look behind her and her vivid green eyes met with the form of a black cat, Black Widow. One of the newest members of the gang. The younger Russian blue offered a friendly smile to the black feline before speaking. "Hello Black Widow." Despite the fact that this feline didn't have the same view of males as most others, it wasn't hard for Tamera to show kindness to her sisters.
Tamera turned her attention to Halcyon, who was now sitting next to her mother. She nodded in greeting to the ocicat. Tamera actually admired Halcyon. She admired her intelligence, something Tamera thought she didn't have too much of. Black Widow, and of course Vanessa, had skills worth admiring also. Black Widow was a skilled assassin, while her mother fought off the male who had given Tamera the scar on her shoulder. This was Tamera's goal: to become just as smart and strong as anyone, especially any male.

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/blackmiddle_zps496fa800.jpg]The lithe ebony feline sat on her haunches, curling her long tail around her paws. Her fearsome yellow eyes flicked from Vanessa to her daughter. The Amazon leader had no suspicion in her eyes, which was something that the she-cat would personally find very hard to do. But the leader had much wisdom, and she wasn't as guarded and distrustful of the world as Black Widow was. Part of her admired the leader for that. The world was cold and bleak when viewed with such cynicism. Vanessa dipped her head as greeting, and the inky she-cat dipped her own in return. Hello Black Widow. The greeting came from Tamera, a friendly smile on her lips. The she-cat dipped her head to her in greeting, her eyes flashing a friendliness that the she-cat didn't often demonstrate to others. The companionship in the gang was surprising, and the she-cat kind of liked it.
The black she-cat's ears flickered backwards as muted paw steps sounded from behind her. Turning her head to look behind her, the ebony feline dipped her head in greeting to Halcyon. The grey she-cat was tough, and her calculating nature made her a very good assassin. Black Widow, how pleasing to meet you again. The she-cat's yellow eyes blinked. She was still unused to the friendliness in the gang. But she would get used to it. Eventually. Another glint of friendliness flashed through her usually emotionless eyes. She sensed she would get along with Halcyon. And the others, for that matter.
The ebony she-cat turned back to the alpha as she spoke again. Are you finding yourself comfortable? The emotionless yellow eyes looked back into the leader's own, a hint of respect and friendliness glinting in them. Her coldness could come across as rude sometimes, especially when she wasn't pretending. She could easily play the part and be friendly and joyful, but that wasn't her. And she didn't want to lie to her new “sisters”. The female gave a small smile. ”Yes, thank you,” answered the assassin, ”Might I say the choice of building for home base is excellent.”

-----
Kaylee wasn't entirely sure what the point of these "gangs" were, but hearing the name Amazons being mentioned in hushed voices around her community, she couldn't help but be intrigued. A group of felines, females like her, that acted as vigilantes for hire? It sounded like chaos waiting to unfold... and wherever there was chaos, Kaylee was present to bask in the afterglow of blood and death.
She carried a large bone in her mouth, cracked and splintered like wood, as she entered the arcade building. What a strange place to have a secret base, she thought, but it would do. Just so long as she could find a spot to move her collection of skulls too, she would do just fine in this shelter. Biting down on what appeared to be the femur of a large dog, she bounded to the top floors of the building.
Kaylee was not a graceful or beautiful cat by any means. She was dirty, from body to soul. Dried blood clung to her fur and the scent of carrion lingered. Her teeth were stained yellow and her eyes filled with a dark, sinister lust for blood. She had proclaimed herself a god of death many months ago now. How had she not seen it before? She was meant to kill. She was meant to guide beings to the other side. Like a reaper. She was a reaper.
A small gathering of cats caught her attention, and she paused only momentarily to take them all in. A mother and a daughter, presumably the leaders of the ragtag group, and a couple of other housecats she wasn't familiar with. Out of everyone here, she was the biggest, the most threatening. Kaylee liked that a lot.
Crunching down on her bone once more, she tasted old marrow before tossing the broken limb like it was little more than a feather to the side. It skidded across the room and hit a wall. That was where her collection would be from now on.
"This is it? These are the famous Amazons?"
|
she seemed more emotionless than skeptical, though by the rumors, she had thought the group would be... far more numerous. "They call me Kaylee. Curiosity brought me here and disinterest might make me leave unless you're as interesting as those ol' rumors sounded." [/blockquote]

OOC; bare with me while i figure out kaylee's character cuz i havent played her much ;;''

Having greeted Black Widow she now saw that her second in command and childhood friend, the ocicat Halcyon, now sat by her side, tail curled around her paws. She smiled to her friend when she acknowledged her, happy to have her by her side. Halcyon was much bigger than herself but it wasn’t just for her size that Vanessa was happy to have her at her side. They’d been friends for a long time and when Halcyon had come back to their pride, she’d supported her choice and left the sexist pride with her and Tamera who’d only been six months old by that time. How quickly time could pass by, and yet she still suffered from nightmares due to the things which had happened to her. Especially if Tamera wasn’t close by. She wouldn’t want her daughter to feel as helpless as she’d felt when she’d been about her age, and it was partly that fear which kicked in during the night if she didn’t know where Tamera was. The scar on her daughter’s shoulder was proof enough that it once had been close, too close, so the grey cat’s words eased her a little. It just meant that Tamera was keen on staying by her side and wouldn’t wander about as she once had done it.
Listening to Black Widow’s words, she turned her head slightly to look outside the window. ”I’m glad that you like it. This place gives us many possibilities, I think we’ll all turn to like it. A great view over the city isn’t the worst thing to have,” she added with a crooked smile, looking upon her sisters again. But their little happiness therapy was then interrupted by the sound of someone unknown approaching. The frame of a rugged carpet of a lynx appeared in the entrance to the diner and Vanessa’s eyes turned into toxic slits of green. The skull which the newly arrived feline had had in her mouth was thrown away and a confident smile tugged in the left side of Vanessa’s mouth as the lynx revealed her harsh words. ”Indeed we are. But disinterest you say? Well, my dear Kaylee, if you hope for something interesting, this is certainly the place to be,” she said, taking a few steps forth. She was much smaller than the young lynx, but it didn’t bother her at all. What was an assassin who was scared of bigger animals?
”But mind you, we’re no entertainment service,” she said, her voice having a harsher edge to it. ”We’re only interested in either serious members or clients, so if you’re one of those, you’re free to speak your business. If not,” she continued, her toxic eyes taking in the other feline’s shaggy frame ”- you will leave and thereby do yourself a favor.” Tail waving behind her, Vanessa awaited the other female’s answer. She wouldn’t accept insults thrown in her sisters’ heads, but if this feline truly had an offer to them, she wouldn’t threaten the lynx. At least not too much.

Tamera sat on her haunches and wrapped her tail around her paws, content with listening to the older felines talk for now. The shopping arcade was a suitable place for the Amazons to live in, from what the young Russian blue had seen so far. There were many abandoned shops to either hide or rest in, there were exits in case they would need to escape and, even though she spent a short time there, the roof of the large building was a perfect lookout for for anyone who might cause trouble. She looked around the room they were in now. This could be a good place to store food, or maybe hold meetings.
'Speaking of troublemakers.' She thought once she saw a rugged looking lynx appear and toss what looked like a femur to the side, making it hit the wall and floor with an almost hollow sounding clatter. With only one look at the larger feline, Tamera could already tell she probably wasn't going to like the lynx, who called herself Kaylee, if she actually did join them. She looked calm, but it was obvious, if you looked close enough, that she was now wary of the lynx. Tamera stood back up when her mother walked closer, alert and ready to help defend her mother if she needed to.
Did this stranger think she could come and do as she pleased? They were smaller but, that didn't mean they would allow the stranger to take control. Tamera imagined Kaylee to, possibly, be just as bad as the male who gave her the scar on her shoulder if not worse. She glanced at Halcyon and Black Widow before turning back to her mother and Kaylee.

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/halmiddle.jpg] Halcyon noted the spark of warmth in Black Widow's, and the respectful nod in her direction. The gray female twitched her ear in acknowledgement, and observed the ebony feline as she addressed their leader. She in turn agreed with the assassin's statement and glanced around their new abode, indeed it had remarkable potential and they would fit in here well. The deputy could imagine how they would melt into the shadows come nightfall, slinking from one shop to another, behind chairs and around the corners. Yes, it was perfect for them. The tabby glanced at Vanessa, catching her smile and returning silently. The Russian Blue was probably the only being in the entire world that warranted such open acceptance from Halcyon, they had grown up together and suffered the same pain, they understood what true friendship was. They were loyal till the end. Halcyon spoke after them both, "It has great potential-" Before she could finish her sentence, she whirled her head around to the right for she had scented somebody approaching. A female lynx and relatively young by the smell, accompanied by a strong whiff of decay. Halcyon glanced coldly at the direction of the stairs, awaiting the appearance of the intruder. There it was, bounding to the top and pausing to study their presence. In the Lynx's mouth hung a cracked limb, which she chose to crunch down upon before lobbing it at the nearest wall. Disrespectful rat. A low hiss sounded from the short-tempered second in command, though she did not deem the medium-sized cat to threatening enough to rise to her paws. Through narrow eyes she stared frostily, a stern glimmer noticing the self-assured arrogance in the newcomers eyes. It seemed she was inexperienced, a wiser cat would recognize that size was not everything. Kaylee's critical tones caused the fur on the back of her neck to rise but still she did not approach, instead she allowed her leader to deal with the minor problem. Halcyon smirked at Vanessa's curt words, deciding finally to near the Lynx. Though she was missing the very tip of her tail, she was still able to twitch it slightly as she stood beside the Russian Blues. Scorching green eyes took in the unkempt fur of the feline, and the seeming uncaring nature that oozed from her every pore. Despite this however, Halcyon saw something in this girl, she must have come here for a reason. Unless she was incredibly bored, stupid and sad. It was not intelligent to drive a possible new member away, but on the other hand this was their territory and they would be treated with a degree of respect, if not she would pay with pain. "I suggest you declare your business here immediately, unless of course you wish to experience just how interesting we really are." Her voice was tinged with venom but remained as cutting cool as usual. [[ ooc ; cruddy post is cruddy words ; 484 ]]

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/blackmiddle_zps496fa800.jpg]Black Widow looked in turn at all the females that were present. They weren't many, but she was confident that soon their numbers would grow. The word was already out on the street, and Black knew that soon some other members would want to join. They would just have to make sure that every member was trained and and fit for battle; they couldn't afford weak links at the numbers they had now. But the warriors they already had were very well trained, and there wouldn't be any problem on that point.
I’m glad that you like it. This place gives us many possibilities, I think we’ll all turn to like it. A great view over the city isn’t the worst thing to have. Black turned her head, looking out of the window as the leader answered her comment. The city sprawled in front of them. They had a view into many streets below, and that would be essential to see if anyone approached. As she was looking, she could see some dogs and a few cats walking around below them, looking very small from where they were.
The black feline twisted her ears around as the faint sound of pawsteps reached them. The steps were rather large, more like a medium sized creature, and definitely feline. No canine could walk with such silence without their claws scratching at the floor. The cat approaching was probably in the size range of a serval, or a caracal, or a lynx. Halcyon had sensed the new arrival as well. The newcomer appeared at the top of the stairs, and immediately Black's fearsome yellow eyes examined the feline. There was an air of arrogance to the feline, her coat matted and stained, her eyes uncaring. But her eyes. . . The ebony feline knew immediately that this feline was rather crazy. Delusions of grandeur probably, judging by the confidence in her eye and the disrespect with which she crunched down and threw the bone she was carrying across the room.
Despite being rather large, the lynx was little threat to them. There were four of them, highly trained, highly specialised assassins, and Black knew that if they ganged up on the lynx, she stood no chance. Black kept herself seated as the newcomer came forth, and little did she do when the harsh words rolled from her mouth. Her emotionless yellow eyes drilled into the young lynx.
The leader responded smoothly to Kaylee's disrespectful words. This lynx better make her business clear, or they would have to deal with her. And that wouldn't be good for all of them.

She was greeted with disdainful stares and harsh words, but that seemed not to dissuade the hybrid feline at all. In fact, her eyes only seemed to glow brighter, perhaps a hint of admiration, as they each in turn looked at her with no fear. It was rare to find a creature that didn't run from her right away - and even rarer to find a group of them. While Kaylee was primarily solitary, and she certainly enjoyed the terrified looks of her victims when she picked them apart bit by bit, she was not so completely far gone that she didn't crave some form of companionship.
Needless to say, group of roguish felines that killed for hire sounded like just her cup of tea when it came to anything remotely close to "friends." And so after Vanessa spoke, Kaylee sat down, respectfully if not a little fidgety from a surge of excitement, and spoke, "I assure you I'm not here to play... games. However, I won't lie. I will be... very entertained by the actions of this group."

However, when Halcyon spoke, Kaylee couldn't help but curl her lip a little bit in irritation. Perhaps she was a hypocrite, for thinking the tabby rude when she herself entered with such an air of arrogance, but she would forever hold a grudge against the smaller feline now - and that was a grave mistake on Halcyon's part... or so The Reaper thought. "My business is my business. However, if I must point out the obvious in the situation, I want to join you, tabby cat. Your rudeness reminds me of my father..." she narrowed her eyes to slits at Halcyon, imagining what Jayden would think of her. The result made her laugh, but it was light, too light for a creature as morbid and sadistic as Kaylee. With that, she dismissed the fellow feline as unimportant and insignificant and focused her attention back on Vanessa [/blockquote]

OOC; jakls;g finally got this out im sorry its so late

"Speech."
The lynx sat down which made Vanessa slightly calmer about her intensions, but she didn’t show. She was still greatly wary of this strange looking newcomer who was partly lynx and partly something she couldn’t quite place. Her green slits scanned Kaylee as if she waited for her to say she was joking and just here to mess around. ”Games are for fools,” she muttered darkly in a tone which would be implacable for anyone but Halcyon. Her second in command was the only one here who knew about the “games” her former mate had played with her in the forest along with his friends. ”Amateurs who seek nothing but being slaughtered. But I might still be able to give you some of the entertainment you seek,” she continued.
The mix’s lips curled up in a snarl as Halcyon spoke behind them. She knew her friend couldn’t keep her bluntness hidden and it was something she’d learned to accept. Therefore, she didn’t flinch or anything like it when hearing her words, but only flickered her tail nonchalantly, letting the lynx speak her mind for a moment. But her insulting laugh became too much. She knew Halcyon would have a meaning about this insult and if she didn’t stop them now, they would most likely just continue all night – unless one of them got her throat torn out before twilight. Perhaps it would even be interesting to figure out where to place your bets, she thought coolly, never really having been good at joking. But she knew this wouldn’t get them anywhere. ”I will have no quarrels in our midst”, she said, her voice sharp as an arrow cutting into the soft flesh of a heart. She had too much patience to be losing it by now, but she still indicated that she wouldn’t be crossed. She was by far too strict of a leader to just sit by and watch others throw senseless mud at each other. Friendly bickering was something else, but this mindless tossing around verbally could be sorted out in a much more useful way. A way where they also would get to know Kaylee’s strengths and weaknesses – to see if she really was someone they could use.
The air was thick, Vanessa sensed the tension emerging from the other females, and she knew that they, just as well as she, wasn’t liking the stranger much. But Vanessa wasn’t going to just cut her off. A bit of raw muscle in their gang could be valuable and this was something Kaylee could contribute to beside her feline stealth. ”You surely know how to stir the air,” she continued with the hint of a purr and turned around while still eyeing Kaylee. ”But even with your rude behavior, I’m not one to just dismiss a possible Amazon member without knowing what I’m turning away.” With that she jumped on top of one of the black tables of the diner, looking down on the other felines. She sat down and wrapped her long tail softly around her body, continuing to speak while looking at the lynx. ”Let us give Kaylee a chance to show what she’s made of. Who knows, perhaps this shagged frame proves to be a diamond in the rough.” Her voice was a soft purr as she spoke thoughtfully and a little smile played on her lips. ”Halcyon, Tamera, Black Widow. Which one of you would have the honour?” She now looked on the three felines which stood between the newcomer and herself on the table. She didn’t like offering her daughter the possibility of fighting the lynx before them, but she wouldn’t make her daughter stand out. Tamera was fully educated, a fine assassin, and she couldn’t hide her away from the world. This could be a good way for Tamera to show her that she didn’t need to worry too much about her daughter. And after all, it wasn’t like she’d asked the felines to fight to the death – she’d just inclined that she wanted to see what this Kaylee could offer them. If something should go wrong, and the stranger should play dirty, the other three of them were there to kill the female lynx before anything dire happened. But even though the lynx looked rough, Vanessa doubted she was stupid enough to put herself in danger by doing something stupid. Looking down at her three sisters again, she waited for one of them to take up this little challenge.
((OOC: I might be liking this leader-thing a little too much – muhaha I’m going to take over the world! xD But yearh, any of you Amazons can now volunteer to have a little playfight now – except for Smiff who doesn’t have a choice ^^ xD))
