PERSONALITY |
Cinta is a loner who is trying to fit into the life of a pack. She’s very independent which can make it hard for her to listen to the ideas of others. But no matter how little she listens to others, and no matter if you like it or not, you have to admit that she’s good at fighting and hunting – both things which has made it possible for her to live on her own for more than two years. Her good abilities only boosts her cold confidence of “you know I’m always right”, and if she should make a bad decision, she acts as if she doesn’t care. She’s very guarded about herself and her life before she joined the Tempest Pack. This plus her independence can make her seem cold, but the truth of her guarded personality is that she hides a lot of things which she isn’t proud of at all. Some of the ugly things which happened in her life turned her very unforgiving and hateful toward felines, not to mention herself.
She’s very honest with others and pretty much always let them know what she thinks about them – which can be seen both positively and negatively. The only thing which she doesn’t like to be honest about is her past, with which you will be met with an “it’s none of your business” comment. But apart from this, Cinta isn’t a female of a foul mouth. Actually she likes to be classier than that and likes to have a certain gracefulness to her personality without being snobbish. You can say that some of her gracefulness is founded in her very calm nature which makes her seem brave and calculating in situations which might make others freak out. Because even in pressed situations, Cinta is capable of keeping her mind clear and always unwilling of just giving up.
As for the company of others, Cinta actually likes to be in a pack. And even though she can seem to dislike clingy personalities, she actually likes how the members of the pack take care of each other which is much different from when she lived on her own. This is why she wants to be a hunter instead of a soldier in the pack. She wants to participate in the big battles since she hates the felines, but in the meantime, she wants to contribute to the pack’s strength by help feeding those who can’t fend for themselves because of different reasons. But if you give her a compliment, she will have a hard time accepting it, always saying that she’s just doing her job. So getting close to Cinta can be tough, but you will be sure to have her full loyalty and assistance – even if she has acted coldly toward you and you didn’t think you were anything special to her, Cinta will be there, suddenly standing by your side. And if you dig deep enough, maybe you will find what she once were; a cheerful pup, a good friend, a loyal partner, a loving mother.• likes | To have a good view over things (also literally since she likes spending time on rooftops etc.), the feeling of being stronger when you have others around you (though she doesn’t like to admit how much she actually enjoys being in a pack), puppies, being able to help others
• dislikes | Her self-hatred, to be incapable of taking care of those she holds dear, felines
• goals | To kill as many felines as possible (hoping to make up for the losses in her life)
• fears | To lose more loved ones, that her goal won’t give enough fulfillment in her life
• strengths | Fast to learn, independent, good hunter and fighter, loyal, calm
• weaknesses | Not very good at listening to others’ ideas, not very good at opening up to others, not the biggest of canines, not good at letting herself relax and having fun, her self-hatred
• mental disorders | None
APPEARANCE |
Cinta stands 20 inches tall at the shoulders which make her a quite big female for her breed, but while it’s big for her breed, it pretty much just gives her an average dog size. She’s also quite average in her weight, so at those two things there isn’t anything special about her. What makes her more special is her white coat which pure colour is broken by her light brown ears – a quite typical feature for the Kintamani Dog. Her white coat is comfortable in the warm months and even though the winters can become cold, Cinta’s coat makes sure that she doesn’t have a too hard time with keeping warm in the cold of winter. Her eyes have a rich amber colour which – just like her ears – breaks her white appearance. She doesn’t have any noticeable scars, only a few small ones on her chin and legs.
Cinta moves with a certain gracefulness, liking to show that she’s proud of her appearance and ability to take care of herself. So it’s definitely not her appearance which has developed the nagging self-hatred which she hides from others.• height |20 inches (at shoulder)
• weight |45 pounds
• fur colour |White and light brown
• eye colour |Amber
• scars | No big ones, just some small ones on her legs
• noticeable features |Her light brown ears
• physical disorders | None
HISTORY |
Cinta’s father was killed by Iris felines when Cinta was only a few months old. This meant that her young mother suddenly had to fend for six puppies on her own in the deserted plains. While she could have chosen to join a pride within Hexasol, Cinta’s mother instead tried to do things on her own. But she failed in her attempt which proved to be fatal for her and her beloved mate’s offspring. Her mate’s death left her deeply depressed, making it only harder for her to fend for her six three-month-old puppies. Two of Cinta’s brothers weakened because of the lack of nutrition and both of them died only a month after their father’s death.
This left Cinta’s mother frustrated, turning her from caring, to depressed to violent. If the puppies didn’t do exactly as they were told (or didn’t say things exactly like she wanted them to), she would take them by the neck and shake them until they didn’t dare to do anything but what she wanted them to, and from time to time she also threw them towards rocks, leaving Cinta and her siblings terribly hurt for days. Her mother’s unpredictable and violent behaviour turned Cinta rebellious. When she was six months old she started to leave her mother and siblings, only for mere minutes, but then the minutes became an hour and at last, she would leave her family to be alone for several hours every day.
In the beginning, her mother was furious and would bite her over and over again or deny her food, trying to stop her daughter’s disobedient behaviour, but since Cinta kept wandering around as she pleased – and only got home later and later, Cinta’s mother stopped to do anything about it. This way, Cinta quickly developed her independent behaviour by wandering about alone. Her siblings didn’t dare to go with her – not even if she asked them to and not even after their mother stopped punishing Cinta. It seemed like they were just too scared to go with her, so being alone started to be natural for her. She pretty much only spent time with her family when her mother gave them hunting lessons or when they slept. But even though Cinta wasn’t being punished physically anymore, her mother would still deny her food from time to time, thereby indirectly forcing Cinta to be quick to learn so she could hunt by herself and thereby get something to eat. So Cinta was the most serious of her siblings when it came to the hunting lessons, and even though her mother never praised her, she kept on doing well, knowing that good hunting abilities would make it possible for her to leave her family before any of her other siblings were ready. And she really longed for it – getting away from everything so she could do whatever she pleased.
The time came when she turned one and a half year old. By this time she were often away from her family for two weeks in a row, and when she realized that she was doing fine on her own for so long, she decided to come back to her family only to say goodbye. Her siblings, whom she almost didn’t know anymore, said they would miss her while her mother only seemed to be glad that she went away permanently. The family which had been safe and warm when her father had been alive had turned cold, depressed and scared after his death. Already by realizing this, Cinta started to grow her hatred towards the felines – they were the reason that her caring mother had turned cruel so that her and her siblings had been scared of her, and they were thereby also the reason for Cinta’s lost cubhood. By having a depressed and violent mother, Cinta hadn’t had the freedom to be the cub she’d needed to be.
She travelled around in the outskirts of Hexasol, living on her own for several months. She never ventured into the city, knowing it would be too dangerous for her – after all she was very young and wandering about alone with white pelt would only make her more vulnerable than necessary. But one day she met another dog while hunting, one who after their encounter didn’t want to just leave her alone. And even though Cinta found the Irish Setter male irritating at first, she soon learned to like his company. He could make her laugh and feel relaxed, but Cinta was still sure that she didn’t need him in her life. As cliché as it sounds, she soon realized that she was wrong. One day while hunting, Cinta didn’t know that she was the hunted. Two bobcats from the Iris Pride attacked her when she was focused on her kill, but luckily the Irish Setter male came to her rescue – killing one of the bobcats and hunting the other away before they could give her any major wounds. From that day on, Cinta started to develop feelings for the male who didn’t just make her feel happy, but also made her feel safe and loved – things that she hadn’t felt for a long time, not even at home. Cinta fell deeply in love with the male and they settled down together in the Skeleton Caves at the foot of Strangler’s Mountains. But when Cinta told the male that she was pregnant, he let her down.
Waking up alone one morning, Cinta didn’t understand why he’d left. In the beginning she hoped he would come back, but as the sun set that day, Cinta knew she wouldn’t see him again. She felt heartbroken at the loss – they’d settled down, they’d mated. Cinta had truly thought that it would be the two of them. But there was nothing to do, she wanted the puppies and unlike her mother, she chose to raise them successfully. She would be a good mother, not the depressed, violent one her own mother had been.
The puppies came when Cinta was barely three years old, making her a young mother just like her own mother had been. And in the beginning, everything went as it should. She loved her five little hairballs, they were the jewels of her life; all healthy and strong, Cinta was determined on preparing them well for the world outside the cave they lived in. The happiness of the little family also lasted for a long time, but when the puppies were almost one year of age, the family’s peaceful life shattered. For a third time, felines of the Iris Pride came to ruin Cinta’s life – almost as if on cue. Coming home after a hunt, the all too common scent of Iris felines lingered in the air outside the cave. She gave a trying bark, but no one responded and already before seeing the scenery, Cinta already knew what was awaiting her inside the cave.
The Iris Pride had taken her father and left her family into a depressed shadow of what it’d been when he’d been alive. They’d attacked her when she’d been out hunting, and now this; killing her precious puppies when she hadn’t been there to defend them. This was enough for Cinta – now it was time to join the war against the felines.
