PERSONALITY |
Kynn really doesn’t care anymore. He’s the kind of guy you’ll find napping in the backseat of a car or lumbering through the streets with a sour look on his face. He doesn’t care much for the conflict going on in the world and would much rather take a seat with a bone and watch the scenario play out like a movie on the big screen. Moody, and rather wasteful, Kynn leaps at any opportunity for food, whether that means killing something, or scavenging. The thing is, once he’s found some food worth protecting, he’ll take a few nibbles and be on his way, leaving whatever his meal was to rot. Out of his littermates, he was the largest and he definitely uses his size to his advantage. He’s the big bulky type, and isn’t afraid to muscle his way out of a bad situation, though when he can, he’ll try to talk his way out of it. Confrontation is something he eagerly tries to avoid. Kynn doesn’t bother with companionship, and because of this, he doesn’t mind being alone. In fact, for the most part, he’d rather be alone. Companions slow you down, fight with you, and throw your life on the line because they’re too afraid to risk their own. When he does find company, however, he can be very loyal and cooperative…in a lazy kind of way.[230 words]• likes | Kynn loves his sleep and freedom more than anything.

APPEARANCE |
Kynn is a perfect example of the rare King Shepherd. He’s robust, long bodied, and evenly muscled throughout. He has a short compact muzzle with a set of solid teeth designed for fighting. He has rich dark chocolate eyes that lay on his rather blocky head. With his body relatively being one shade of tawny brown, it darkens to black on his muzzle, round the rim of his short ears, and just above his eyes. The bright fur around his body is always long, and even longer around his neck. With it being so thick there, it’s hard to see the bare scar tissue that was caused by a chain that had been too tight and his skin grew around it. He has a medium length tail that curves up, like his close German Shepherd relative, but his has longer fur. With a broad deep chest and stocky legs that are good for running, he is a large lumbering impressive dog that has an attitude to match his rugged appearance.[170 words]• height |27 inches at the shoulder

HISTORY |
Kynn’s purebred King Shepherd Mother was bred to another purebred from England 6 years ago. She gave birth to four puppies, and after a few months, they were sold out to various places over the world. Kynn was the only one in his litter to have been sold to someone in the United States. He was bought by a young girl full of life and promise, and his life with her was grand. She trained and competed him in Dog Shows where he won many ribbons and trophies, eventually sired pups, and soon he became well known in the large city he came from. However, after he turned 5, a few men broke into her house and stole Kynn, knowing he was worth a great deal of money due to his rare breed and competition record. After a week, the men were prepared to sell him, but ads in the newspaper and a few on the television showed up about the missing canine, so there was no way to sell him because he was too well known. So, they decided to keep him until the commotion calmed. After a few months, the panic about the missing show dog hadn’t ebbed, and since the men craved the worth of Kynn more than anything, they had to keep him longer. They had thrown him outside and chained him to a tree and over the year with the chain being too tight, it cut into his skin. Over the course of the next few months, his skin grew around it and healed in a mottled revolting way. The chain was rusted, and even though Kynn was a undernourished dog, he had clawed and chewed the chain enough for it to finally give way. In the dead of the night, he crept away, was found and treated by the humane society, and was returned to his owner. A few weeks later, the disease hit, and his beloved girl had died in her sleep. Kynn had no choice but to abandon her corpse, and he noticed that were more dead people then living, more animals than humans. He now walks the streets as a loner, observing from a distance the battle that has rung out between canine and feline. He has no desire in involving himself; he’d rather be a spectator any day.[388 words]

SAMPLE |
The King Shepherd was tired. Tired, cranky, and—eerrrggglllrrhhh—hungry. The canine trudged through watered down grass, the frigid air caused the water to be cold which in turn, made his paw pads ache. Passing a tree, he scraped his claws on the base to help rid him of the thick mud between his toes before continuing in his way. The day was bright, the sun threatening to blind him, yet he stuck close to the trees which provided heatless shade. Kynn raised his large head and let his thickly furred ears lean forward with eager excitement. Ah, he was right. Out in the distance he had heard what sounded like claws scrambling against wood. Turns out, the wood instead of being a tree, was an old abandoned log cabin. That would provide adequate shelter for the time being. Besides, the large dog had been on his feet for the past week, looking for civilization. He had yet to see what Hexasol had to offer, as he was still traveling from his home. This was the first house type structure he had seen in weeks, and he was dying for a soft blanket to lie on. Kynn paced himself as he moved toward the cabin, his dark brown eyes scanning the ground for foot prints while his keen ears listened for followers. The only sound that could be heard was his hearth thumping heavily in his chest, and the sweet pitchy singing of the birds in the trees. Kynn let out a hefty sigh, his breath visible in front of him. The Shepherd watched it for a moment before it evaporated into the chilly air. The canine snorted and continued on his way, glancing behind him every now and again.[290 words]
