So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. In the shadows of the cemetery, hardly anything seemed to stir. Not a leaf nor a twig; not a rabbit nor bird. But through the shadows of the stones, there was a figure that seemed to the defy the stillness of the area that surrounded it. It held a canine shape, that of a domestic Australian Shepherd. Most of the fur seemed to be a dark brown hue, except the hues of caramel brown and white that decorated the female dog's face and underside. Her movements were slow, but random. Almost as if she was just wandering about, without a care in the world. What a rather stupid thing to do, specially under the circumstances of the current war between species.. But as of right now, she was just here to explore. The thick scent of other dogs hung in the air anyways, which meant no troubles for her, as far as she was concerned. She lifted her head from the ground slightly, taking in a deep breath of the crisp night air. Some might have said the night was more dangerous than day, but the phrase was deeply flawed and set in superstitions. Therefore, she did not bother to schedule her wandering for when the sun was up. She'd rather be fully awake and active at night, and that made itself evident in the energy that seemed to be beaming from the said shepherd as she made her way through the stones. Even in an eerie place such as this, under the cover of night, she still managed to keep a grasp of the energized bloodlines from which she descended. Her tail lay low behind her, held limply as she carefully waltzed down a lone of stones. The names and worn down carvings on the graves caused the curiosity to stir deep within her. She'd known what such places were for, but if it hadn't been for the sudden disaster that struck humans, wouldn't they have run out of places like this to bury their dead? A puzzled expression slowly appeared on her face, washing from one side to the other as she brushed her nose on one of the graves. It still had the faint scent of the humans that had once passed by, laying flowers as if to honor their dead. What strange creatures. Devil cocked her head slightly to the side as she examined the grave, soon turning her attention to lay her reddish-brown gaze on the misty layout of the cemetery which lay before her.

{ Gravity } A dark shape leaped through the shadows of the concrete buildings, powerful strides carrying the wolf forward at a dangerous speed, as he avoided fallen trash cans and other debris with an agility that seemed... unlikely, if not impossible, for a creature his size. Joy surged through his mind as he enjoyed the mere movement - his body singing a song of moving muscles, pumping blood and rushing adrenaline. As he flew through the streets his thoughts kept circling the reason he was on his way through the night:
Someone had breached the lines.
It was pure coincidence that he had been there when the report rolled in. Normally a Soldier or two would simply take care of things, but tonight, Gravity had stepped in and declared he would handle it himself. No one was really surprised - everybody knew that this Warden liked to get involved. As he ran he marveled at the beauty of the simplicity: Someone was trespassing on his lands. He was the Warden. He was going to remove this someone.
And so the hunt had begun.
He had been told she was at the cemetery, and indeed - the scent trail lead him directly to the place of dead, where once the living had come to visit the deceased. In the end Death had come to turn the entire city into his own personal graveyard, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new. Without slowing Gravity leaped up on a rock and from there over the ramshackle iron fence, landing on soft paws on the other site. Hah! Who ever said that canines can't be nimble?"
Gravity had never been one for stealth, and tonight his adrenaline-pumped body wouldn't accept being forced into the slow crawl of a lurker. But here in the spring no dry and crunchy leaves covered the ground, and even his large body slipped relatively soundlessly through the tall grass. It didn't take him long to find the female, who didn't seem to even attempt to hide her presence. Fool. He ran towards her and jumped up on a nearby stone that had been toppled by either weather or animal, so that his shape rose above her like a wraith come to punish her for disturbing the rest of the dead. Gravity had always had a flair for the melodramatic. He crouched low with the front part of his body, the fur along his spine bristling and tail held high. His lips drew back to show white fangs that stood in deep contrast to the darkness around him, and a snarl left his throat.
"You are trespassing on ground that doesn't belong to you."

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. The female lifted her head slightly, nostrils twitching faintly as a new scent started to linger amongst those of the dead. The new one was definitely alive, though--and it was that belonging to canine, a wolf. The scent, however, was far from unknown. It rang certain bells in her memory that gave her hints towards where she recognized it from. Great. She'd crossed paths with traces of that very scent when she'd first breached the territory lines. Not that she really gave it much thought at the time and place when she'd ventured in, but with the looming doom at hand, her thoughts began to race. The shepherd's ears perked slightly as her body grew rigid, all movements ceasing to exist except those of her nose and her ears. However, soon enough, the said beast made his entrance--and a rather dramatic one at that. Her eyes instantly shot up towards where the other canine stood, running her gaze over the snarling creature. At first impulse, her instinct would have been to run and evade any trouble and scandal whatsoever. But something within her wanted more, it pushed her towards curiosity and playfulness. Perhaps she'd play a trick on him, perhaps she'd simply follow his orders, or perhaps she wouldn't speak at all and pretend she was a mute. Hah, now wouldn't that be interesting to see. "I can clearly see it is not my territory at all, nor was I trying to claim it." She said, her tail giving a slight flick as she lifted her previously relaxed posture. He wanted to play tough? Got it. A slight smirk tugged at the corners of her mouth, adding a hint of mischief to her previously neutral face. She subtly lifted a paw, using it to move towards the side and slowly begin to circle him. "So indeed I am trespassing, and I'm assuming it belongs to you." she said, giving a subtle nod of her snout as if to aknowledge his military-like disposition, and the territorial vibes he was practically exploding with. "However, I have a question for you, sir.." Devil approached one of the nearby stones quietly, her footsteps lacking most sound as she made her way through the crunchy leaves and twigs that lay scattered across the cemetery ground. "When a gravestone falls, when a tree branch breaks off, when the grass turns green and the storms shake the earth.." She started, her expressions beaming with the malice and devious antics worthy of a Joker. The shepherd gave a sudden leap, her agility being comparable to that of a feline's as she landed lightly on the top of one of the gravestones, now standing at the same height, if not higher than the anger-stricken male that stood a few feet from her. "Do they ask your permission first?" She asked, her tail falling about her ankles as she stood. Her devious expressions slowly receded into their almost emotionless home state, as if she expected a serious answer to her inquiry. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Gravity noticed the impulse running through the body of the dog, that slight flinch as her instincts screamed to her to turn and run; instincts she obviously ignored, as defiance took over. Ironically, facing up to him was probably the best decision she could've made - if she'd turned around and fled, it would've been a declaration that she had taken on the role of prey, and he would've hunted her down as such.
Of course, just because it was the best decision between the two choices she had, still didn't mean that it was a good one. A good decision would've been not coming here in the first place. As it was now, no matter what she did, she was still nothing but an annoyance needing elimination - an itch he needed to scratch.
The ears of the wolf flicked a bit forward and then back, as he listened with clear annoyance over her smirk and taunting body language. The self-confidence of this dog surprised him, and her defiance intrigued him, used to obedience as he was. He was a wolf who had gotten used to the fact than when he said "jump", people were halfway through the air before they even thought to ask in which direction. Now this wolf had suddenly met a dog who simply looked at him, cocked her head, and asked "what for?". It fascinated him... and made the embers of his smoldering anger threaten to burst into flames.
Surprising even himself, he felt a low laughter leave his throat and split the silence of the cemetery. His chest vibrated as the deep laugh rolled over the tombstones like the rumble of thunder. "Now, don't be a fool little one. I'm not presumptuous enough to assume authority over Mother Nature." His voice was for the moment oddly deprived of the anger he had felt at her taunt, and he actually found that he was honestly amused at the situation of standing here, discussing philosophy with a trespasser. "I do not claim to rule every bird, leaf or stone on my territory. I only claim the rights to rule my own. Of which category - and I'm truly sorry to be the one to bring you such bad news - you belong." With those words his body burst into action, as he leapt from the stone to the grass. Two powerful strides carried him over the short distance that separated him and the stranger, and the powerful muscles of his legs flexed, claws digging into the soft ground, as he took off and bounded for the canine above him. He had already noticed her agility and speed, and he didn't actually expect to catch her unawares, so he readied his body to either land on the tombstone, or use it as a leverage for further pursuit.

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. Devil flicked her ears slightly, growing somewhat amused as he seemed to examine her defiant personality. Needless to say, the very trickery she was best at had landed her in many situations such as this before. She was hardly a fool when it came to first encounters, unless it was with one of the felines. She destested those things.. but they seemed to be on the same page of mutual understanding when it came to playing games. Her attention was grasped from her thoughts quickly as the wolf's deep laugh rolled out, echoing over the tombstones. What a hearty laugh for such a serious fellow.. She nodded her snout slightly to his words, almost as if to assert that she was listening. At least he wasn't cocky enough to believe that he trully owned the land--which was a relief and somewhat of a fresh encounter from the past leaders that she'd crossed paths with. His next words however, were a bit more challenging--and followed by quick action to which she responded almost instinctively. So, she was a canine, therefore under the definition of what could be considered his kingdom..No news there; however, part of her seemed to both refuse and accept that he had authority over her, despite the fact she'd willingly ventured into his lands. "Well, that's quite a relief..but if you pardon my curiosity, sir.. When did I agree to your claim?" She questioned, cocking her head lightly at the thought. However, her question was left unanswered as the wolf took sudden motion and headed right at her. The shepherd's legs quickly arched and sprung from the gravestone, landing her on one horizontal to it. From there, she hardly took a breath before bounding off again, this time leaping down to touch the ground and heading upwards again, landing lightly on the top of a gravestone which was diagonal to his. The tips of her snout seemed to tug upwards once again, giving faint hints of the smirk that rolled within the surface of the trickster's thoughts. "Shall we dance?" She asked, a coy tone lurking within her otherwise serious remark. Irony how her birthname had manipulated itself into her personality.. Not that she minded. She didn't rest there, however. Though she stopped at the second gravestone, she knew the wolf would respond with the same impulse which he'd previously shown; therefore, her reddish-brown gaze remained locked on those of Gravity's, almost as if reading right through his authorative nature. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Gravity landed heavily on top of the tombstone she had left mere moments ago. He almost laughed out loud again, as the words of the trespasser reached his ears. Oh the nerve! "Such refreshing defiance. Pity I have to beat it out of you." Perhaps the most surprising thing, was that it was clear how he actually meant what he said. It wasn't a boast attempting to frighten her, or a weak attempt to assert his control over the situation, it was a simple statement of facts. He did like her, but that didn't change that she had to meet her punishment when he caught her. And in his mind there was no doubt that he would... eventually.
A tip-tap sound of claws scraping across stone followed in his wake, as he jumped from the tombstone to the ground, grass and leaves giving way underneath his feet. He had always loved the feeling of earth underneath his paws, in opposition to the hard rock the humans had decided to cloak their city in. Crazy creatures. His lips drew back to reveal his fangs in the grin of a predator. "Agree? My my, aren't you the arrogant one! This is no business deal, little one. You were mine as soon as you crossed that border." His movements were slower now as he approached her, stalking through the grass, his grey pelt melting easily into the darkness, though to the sharp eyes of a canine he was still clearly visible. He narrowed his eyes slightly, wolfish grin once more marking his features. "Alright then little one. Let us dance the dance of muscles and paws, that we might in the end sing the song of tooth and blood."
And with those words, he bounded after her once more.

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. Devil remained her gaze locked on the other canine, arching an eyebrow slightly as his laughter rolled across the tombstones once again. Was she that funny? No, definitely not.. He was probably just amused at the resistance that her devious little spirit seemed to be gleaming with; and this was her soul purpose. Her ears pricked slightly once more as he spoke his next words, claiming that he would have to beat the spirit right out of her. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that he held the potential to break most bones in the shepherd's body; however, instincts assured her that she'd be quite the hassle for him to catch. "I see," she said, realizing that she had indeed practically relinquished her self-dominance over to the brute as the first paw had crossed into his territory. But, she wasn't going down without a fight..Not yet. Who did he think he was, anyways? She hadn't been here to cause trouble until he'd waltzed up almost as if awaiting a challenge, and Devil wasn't one to leave people empty-handed. "So..hypothetically speaking, does that mean you get off your high horse the second you leave your territory borders?" She asked, giving a slight grin at the thought. There was going to be some kind of quarrel anyways..she might as well see what he was like when he'd crossed out into an unclaimed world. Perhaps he'd be a fish out of water..or, perhaps he'd just remain the same. The curiosity remained unanswered as he eagerly agreed to her proposal, soon lunging towards her once more. Her body responded instinctively as it'd done previously, almost as if she didn't need her mind to guide her movements as she leapt off of the stone. Her claws sunk into the soft earth as she landed, hardly making a sound before she was up in the air again, this time leaping on one of the larger stones, the ones that held the large, intricate tatues of what humans called angels. Without a second's thought, she leapt up once again, making her way up to the head and shoulders of the statue and securing her footing in the crevices. "My, oh my. Tell me, do you know how to fly?" She said, giving a rather wolfish grin as her eyes lowered their gaze back on the ground, which lay five to six feet below where she now stood. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Bloody hell, that dog was a never-emptying well overflowing with questions. Though most of them appeared to simply be hidden insults, there seemed to be a twinkle of true curiosity in some of them. A question in her eyes she never voiced out loud - the question of "why", as if his actions confused her. In turn, this unasked question confused him, as everything about this situation was clear and simple in his mind. Could she not understand? Did she not see? She had wandered into Tempest territory, and this had to be punished, lest they would soon become known as softhearted. If that occurred, they would in time be overrun by a horde of loners, and after them would come the Pride.
And Gravity would sooner die than allow the Pride to walk his lands.
The question of the female dog went unanswered, as he was already flying through the air when she voiced it. As he had expected she was long gone when he reached the stone, but this would not stop him. Instead of coming to a halt on top of the tombstone the same way he had done with the other, he twisted his body slightly so he landed on the edge, muscles contracting and pushing him away from the rock, as he took off once more before gravity could reach him and pull him down. As he used the side of the tombstone to change the course of his jump, he felt the stone give way underneath his paws as he leapt after the smaller dog. Simultaneously as he landed on the ground mere feet behind the female, he heard the tombstone topple over and crash into the earth behind them, uprooted by the impact with the heavy wolf. Undisturbed by the loud crash he bounded after the dog, following her up on the large stone, his jaws snapping shut inches from her tail - so close to his target, yet still his teeth only bit into air.
Gravity didn't follow after the retriever as she darted up the statue like another of those blasted felines. Despite his confidence he wasn't stupid - he knew his own boundaries, and trying to follow that dog would most likely result in a short flight and a broken leg. Therefore he merely cocked his head and watched her, as she settled on the shoulders of the human creature with the eagle wings. Sitting there, her shape dark against the moonlit sky, she most of all resembled a crow perched upon the shoulder of the statue. A memory of an old human rhyme whispered from the back of his mind. One's for sorrow... His tail twitched in slight amusement at her taunting call. "All creatures may fly, if nothing else then for a brief interval of time. It's the landing that always proves the problem, isn't it?" He started circling the base of the statue, never removing his gaze from her shape. "But you see little one, I don't need to. You might be out of my reach for the moment, but you've also backed yourself into a corner. Oh true, it's not that far down - a leap a canine as agile as you will easily be able to make. But how long do you think such a flight will take you... one second, two seconds? In opposition to a bird, you cannot change course in mid-flight little one. You want to let it come to a test if you can fly faster than I can react?"

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. Most of what she'd encountered in this new, foreign city was well out of her range of understanding, and judging from the somewhat annoyed look in the wolf's eyes, Devil could tell that this failure to understand was somewhat puzzling the wolf as well. She examined the way he carried himself yet again, almost as if looking for any flaws.. A loophole in his character, anything that she could use to pick at the real personality behind his otherwise determined alpha state of mind. However, all her inquiries had run dry so far.
She peered down from the statue on which she perched, running her gaze over the cemetery that lay below her. Her gaze shifted over the gravestone which had toppled over as a result of the large wolf's pressure on it. If he could unroot a heavy stone such as that, and send it falling down to earth.. She could only imagine the force that was building beneath the surface of his actions, yearning to be used against her. She lifted her nose to the sky slightly, looking up at the vast skyline that lay over them, cloaking the earth in its shimmering darkness. She held her attention there for a while, listening as Gravity spoke but letting her mind wander. She was well out of his reach, even if she'd pretty much cornered herself.. She could stay up here for a while longer. Sooner or later, one of them would give in. Should she be the first to go, she'd simply have to wait to catch him off guard before making her move. His taunting question soon ripped her attention from the night sky though, causing her to lower her head and watch as he circled the base. Could she make a leap faster than he could sink his teeth in? Perhaps.. She had no doubt in her mind that the large wolf could react just as quick, if not faster, than she could land and make a run for it. She kept her lips sealed as he talked, keeping any answers sealed in the vicinity of her own mind. They were going to be here a while if he continued circling her with his consciousness fully set on making the catch. His previous words, however, were the ones which seemed to echo through her mind. Oh, what a marvel it would be to be a bird. To defy gravity and change the course of direction in mid-air.. But alas, it wasn't a feasible goal, therefore pointless to daydream of.
"What's your name, anyways?" she asked, watching his movements as he circled the human statue. Ironic how things came to be. A devil sitting on an angel statue, out of reach for the moment from the grasps of reality. Her chest heaved lightly, letting out a muted sigh as she sat, perched between the pair of angel wings.

{ Gravity } Alert and ready Gravity kept circling the statue, movements slow though his body was ready to explode into action as soon as the dog made a move to jump. He had to force his muscles to relax as his body fought his mind - urged him to jump, to attack, to do something. Adrenaline still surged through his veins like a quick poison, at the prospect of the battle that in his mind was inevitable, and he wanted to get to it goddamnit! Urging himself to patience before he did something stupid (like trying to climb after her), the timber wolf flicked his ears in an annoyed manner. If this was a game of determination, then so be it.
For a moment she actually caught him off guard, causing him to momentarily halt his prowling as he shot a surprised look her way, his astonishment perhaps the most open emotion he had showed her that evening. "You say you don't know? Well that is a first. Have you been living underneath a rock, or are you simply uninterested in the going-ons of your home? A newcomer, perhaps?" He cocked his head slightly before he resumed to circling the statue. "They call me Gravity, and I am the Warden of the Tempest Pack, in case you are ignorant of that too. And what name do you go by, trespasser?"
Gravity circled the statue one more time, an owl tooting in the distance and breaking the silence that otherwise cloaked the graveyard. Then his eyes took on a thoughtful look, as he once more sought out the gaze of the female. "Tell me one thing - why did you come here? Your quick tongue aside, you seem to be no unintelligent dog. You must have known your presence would not go by unnoticed?"

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. Weary eyes followed the male's movements, watching as he seemed to be in a battle against his own impulses. She cocked her head lightly as she watched him, growing somewhat amused by his contradicting gestures. She nodded her snout softly as he questioned her, a grin somewhat tugging at the corners of her mouth as he asked if she'd been living under a rock. Ha! She hadn't spent the last two years hiding out in a cave..but she was indeed new to the city. "Yes, a newcomer. I've just recently waltzed in here, and you're the first canine I've crossed paths with so far. It's a pleasure to meet you, Gravity." She said, emphasizing a few words almost as if to make it known that this situation wasn't exactly what she imagined to be welcomed with. Her tail flicked behind her slightly, staying relatively close to her body so that it would still be out of reach if he decided to risk the odds of making it up the statue.
"My name's Dance with the Devil, though most dogs just call me Devil." she said, following his movements with her eyes as he circled the statue once again. Her expression changed slightly as he finally questioned why she'd crossed paths into his territory. Frankly, she hadn't really had any intentions other than following the curiosity that came from hearing about the canine and feline war that raged here. However, she came up dry when trying to think of ways to explain that. "I've been wandering alone for a while.. I figured it was about time to see what other animals meant when they spoke of a war between species here. I knew my presence would be picked up instantly, but I also knew it was a canine territory. We're against them together anyways, right?" She explained, giving hints to the undertow behind her otherwise careless actions. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } ... Oh bummer.
Gravity closed his eyes briefly, a quiet sigh leaving his throat before he opened them again. Well, he'd always had a natural talent for first-hand impressions. Sitting down on his haunches he directed his gaze back at the female... Devil. "What kind of name is Dancing with the Devil - who calls their pup that?" he scoffed, mostly to give himself another couple of seconds to chew on the information he had just been given. The grey wolf had a look of tired annoyance painted on his features, and the brown-tinted ears flicked once forward before returning to their upright position.
"You should learn to guard that tongue of yours Devil. If you make a habit out of waltzing into the territory of strangers, you better learn to be damn polite while doing so. He gave her the same reproaching look he would give a misbehaving pup, as he refused to take all the guilt of this awkward encounter. "The first thing you need to know about Hexasol is that, yes, there is a way going on between the species, but it's far more complicated than that. It's not just "us" vs "them". There are several factions - pacifists who refuse to participate in the fight, loners who simply don't care who rules the city, and even cowardly creatures who claim that canines and felines can live side by side." Even if his face was impassive, his voice dripped with contempt, and it was clear that the mere thought disgusted him. "And here you come, a strange dog, waltzing into what is clearly claimed land, not making any efforts to explain yourself or even be respectful. So excuse me if I didn't live up to your idea of a warm welcome."
Gravity rolled his eyes towards the sky. But then he made a wry face and sighed again, averting his eyes to a vague point in the sky above her head.
"... though, I might have acted too hastily." The words came through clenched teeth, and it was clear that that little admission hurt more than if she'd buried his teeth in his neck and twisted. But fairness required him to at least acknowledge the fact that he was partly guilty. His eyes returned to hers. "Will you come down? You have my word that I shall not harm you."

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. "I'm not exactly sure, someone who wants the pup to grow up to be a troublemaker, I guess." she said, cocking her head slightly at the thought. Her name was rather odd, now that she gave it some thought.. However, it hadn't been up to her. As far as she was concerned, it had a certain mischievous ring to it that she liked. Her attention was quickly grasped from the context within her name as the wolf started explaining, and doing a bit of scolding as well. The very thought tugged the corners of her mouth into the familiar subtle smirk that'd been present a while ago. Though, she tried to disguise it as best as she could. She figured that smirking at a stranger's scoldings--specially a warden's--is on a somewhat more dangerous level than when you did it to your parents.. She nodded once again, aknowledging as he started explaining more about the city and the on-going war between the several groups that populated it. Strange little town.. She thought, arching an eyebrow at how once upon a time, they had all lived in somewhat unision; and with the extinction of a mediating species, came this raging war that seemed to pour out of hell itself. "I wasn't expecting much of a warm welcome in the first place..but thank you for agreeing that there might have been unecessary force," She said, grinning slightly as she picked up on the resistance that manipulated itself into his expressions, almost as if every word had left an open wound on its way out. However, she wouldn't take advantage of the occasion and rub his nose in it, since he could probably retract his words just as easily, and return to their previous game of cat and mouse--or, warden and trespasser. His next words stirred some uneasyness within her. He wanted her to come down off her perch and join him on the ground once again. But, was that necessary? She could stay on this perch for a while longer, it didn't bother her much--but perhaps the thought of having to talk to something that stood higher than him was getting to him. Eh, not like she had anything to lose; and alpha's usually kept their word anyways.. "As you wish," She said, lifting herself from her previous sitting position and stretching her legs slightly. Her eyes shifted their gaze away from Gravity, looking at the floor that lay around the statue and taking an agile leap down from its shoulders, soon landing back on the grass with a small thud. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]

{ Gravity } Gravity chose to ignore the smirk she tried to hide, but the shine of which she couldn't quite remove from those amber eyes. He told himself that the fact that she at least tried to disguise it had to count for something, and he chose not to make a fuss about it - for the sake of peace, and for the sake of her health, if nothing else. Besides, he didn't want to ruin the tentative politeness which had been established. That canine had a tongue that matched her name. He sniffed at the thought, while he watched her nimble shape leap from the statue to the ground below her, landing as softly as an autumn leaf floating on the wind. Gravity knew that with his compact body he would never achieve the same agility as her, and he couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of jealousy. He banished the feeling as soon as he recognized it.
"Follow me." With those words he turned his back to her and padded in a half-circle around the statue, through the grass as he aimed for the entrance to the cemetery. Both his tone and body language clearly portrayed the message, that it had been no suggestion - she had no say in this. The wolf might have changed his behaviour to one more polite, but he was still the Warden and she was still on his territory. While she was here, she would obey him. It wasn't so much an attempt to be arrogant or demean her - it was simply something he saw as a matter of course.
"So, what brought you to Hexasol? Simple curiosity, or something more?" He asked, not looking over his shoulder, but simply taking it for granted that she had followed him. But his voice held honest curiosity, and it was clear that she had actually managed to catch his interest.

So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never because a dance with the devil might last you forever.. Devil shook her head lightly, almost as if to disperse some of the shock that'd resulted from the impact of landing. As agile as she may have been, every force in the planet had an equal and opposite reaction--causing there to be a bit of an aftershock. Now standing on the same level as him, she realized was somewhat shorter than the large wolf; but that was to be expected due to the breed differences. her ears pricked slightly as he gave the comamnd to follow him. Under any other circumstances, her main driving instinct would have been to ask why, but she bit her tongue at that question in this situation and set off after him, keeping her curiosity to herself. Surely there must be a reason he was leading out of the cemetery, perhaps he was taking her back to the edge of the lands, or to meet some of the other dogs.. Either way, she didn't much mind. If anything 'bad' was going to happen, it would have happened the second she'd reached the ground. She continued to follow the wolf quietly, staying a few feet behind him but following closely nonetheless. "I'd say the main reason was curiosity. I wanted to see what the city was like, what the situations were like.." she said, trailing off a bit as they started to approach the cemetery gates. She tilted her head slightly, causing her halfway-floppy ears to simultaneously turn in one direction. "maybe even help out.." she added, this time in a lower, far more subtle tone. Yes, it was true--though curiosity had lead her all this way on the illusion of adventure, deeper instincts had driven her here due to the fact that she wanted to be a part of something again. Back where she'd been raised, she'd always been part of a family--a group of dogs that worked together, even if it was for something as simple as keeping large groups of cattle from separating. It still had an aura of belonging to it that she missed now. For the past year or so she'd been traveling the country, alone for the most part. The feeling of going solo wasn't a bad one, though it did leave behind a bad aftertaste of thoughts. || Dance with the Devil[/blockquote]
