Question about breeding

Hi!

If a feline or canine are a member of a pack/pride and wants to mate with another, does the character in the pack/pride then have to get permission to mate from the alpha of the pack?

Or is it up to the specific pack/pride to decide if everyone is allowed to breed with each other?

Just if the pack wants to avoid weak offspring or if they want every member they can get. I just thought about how it is in the wild - therefore the question (:

As far as I'm concerned, permission isn't needed, unless it is a rule in the pack/pride/tribe rules, which I don't think it is in any (:

Just to elaborate a bit, then as a member you don't need permission from the alpha, to have your character mate with someone outside your pack. YOU are free to have your character mate with whomever you want.

Of course, IC there might be unpleasant consequences, depending on what pack your character is in. If your character is a part of the Lexis Tribe, you won't have any problems, seeing as they allow relationships between the packs. If your character is a member of the Tempest Pack or the Iris Pride, you'll probably get a couple of problems with the alphas. At least I know that Gravity wouldn't be quite happy about it, seeing as a relationship with someone outside of Tempest, would result in the loyalty of the person being split between the mate and the pack.

So yeah, OOC you're free to do whatever you want, as long as you're ready to have your character deal with the IC consequences. But then again, what's a site like this without a little bit of drama? ;D
