Rain, rain, RAIN.
The bitter weather seemed to have soaked through to Diego's brain. After all, it was the only thing that seemed to happen anymore; the only thought running through his mind. If it stopped raining, it would start again within the next hour. If it stopped raining for more than an hour, that meant you had managed to find shelter somewhere in these forsaken grounds. Considering every tattered roof had at least one leak, if the dampness didn't drive you crazy, the constant drip drop of a breach in the ceiling would. You couldn't win in conditions like this.
Additionally, the torrential downpour had caused a rising water level in the lower parts of Hexasol, an area Diego currently found himself in. In areas the shepherd mix had to wade through the murky rainwater up to his chest, in other places it was even higher. This inconvenience made travel slow and tedious. Every movement took twice the effort for the same amount of speed. Diego, being the opportunistic fellow he is, patiently accepted the earthly challenge and used it to his advantage. This way it would be easier to train his muscles and only be an even better addition to Tempest. He had yet to prove his true worth to his home pack, and more importantly, his parents.
If there was one thing Diego could languish in, it was the fact that the world smelled so much fresher. Even without humans running around polluting the planet, the world could get kind of stinky after long periods of drought or little rain. The snow had suffocated the land, but now the rain was back to replenish. Now it was only a question of if any vegetation could grow in such unexpected conditions. For right now, the smells were dull and the tarmac burned his nose, but once this rain came to an end, Diego knew that Hexasol would have a beautiful summer. He couldn't wait, amongst other things. One particular dog still reappeared in his mind from time to time...Stella.
Diego immediately brushed the thoughts away. He hadn't seen her in ages, and he needed to focus. There were a countless amount of skills he could improve today. The main concern however, was finding something to eat. Due to the water filling up their underground burrows, many small prey animals had fled to higher ground. Unfortunately for Diego, he was sniffing around on the lower areas, so his first goal was to climb higher. Travel would have been incredibly faster if Diego could have leaped from roof to roof, but chances were the surfaces were slippery and not strong enough to hold his weight. For right now, it seemed the shepherd mix was stuck wallowing around at ground-level with the water up past his heels.
ooc; wow, i'm so sorry how long this took
