Feather
2 years • female • Norwegian Forest Cat • Lexis
PERSONALITY |
Feather has always been reserved and quiet, even though she surrounded her self with others, she almost never speaks unless spoken to first. Her father, Talon, would always call her very mature for her age, and Feather agreed, but she mostly thought it was because of her nerves. Feather's nerves often get the best of her and she will freeze up in the most important moments, no matter what the situation. The only person Feather seems to be able to fling words at with ease is Talon.
Feather has a reluctance to act with her instinct. The sudden act on your impulse feeling scares Feather and if she acts on it, she feels out of control, something she can't stand. Because of this fear to act, she finds it hard to fight, hard to pick the right moment to attack or the right move at the right time. If Feather is given time to think a move over, she can execute the move with ease and perfection, it is only when she is told to attack quickly and at the moment she makes mistakes. When hunting, she finds stalking the prey especially easy, she's able to watch and wait for the perfect moment. If they prey manages to run, she's already thought it through and knows what to do and when. Though if she stumbles upon a piece of prey by mistake, and it starts to run, she is unable to catch even the slowest morsel. The fear of acting on impulse is not only limited to survival activities, but emotions and actions with other cats as well. If Feather is presented with a problem that she must act on immediately, she begins to panic and cannot solve the problem.
Because of her past experiences with love, Feather refuses to believe love is real. To her, love is just attraction and when a cat looses the feeling of attraction, they loose the "love" too. The only thing Feather believes in is the love between family members, even though she has yet to experience the feeling towards anyone other then Talon. Feather decided at an early age that she doesn't want to fall in love, fake or not. Love is fake and she doesn't want to go through the heart break her father did. She never wants to become dizzy with love or get clouded over eyes.

Feather is scared of many things, most of them to do with her family and love. Feather is scared of love, if she finds it, even though she believes it would only be attraction. She fears she would lose the feeling of love, or the other person loses it, and become like her father. She also has fears that one day she will become like her mother, always looking for an argument, letting it drive her self to the point of exhaustion. Her greatest fear though is to do with her sister, Ash. She can see the hatred and sometimes jealousy, in Ash's eyes and Feather fears that this will be driven to a point to no return. Feather knows that Ash hates her, Feather only hopes that the relationship can one day be saved.

Her greatest want is for her and Ash to become friends, or even for Ash to stop hating her, and for Feather to stop being jealous. Her other want is for her mother, Dawn to come back. Ever since she left, Feather wanted her to come back.
APPEARANCE |
Fur;; Feather has light gray fur, so light that when Feather was born, her mother thought it was silver. After close examination though, Feather learned that her fur is a soft gray, with a sharp gray at the tips. Her fur is short and never tangles, this helps when she is standing atop the cliffs staring at the ocean.
Build;; Feather has a small build. Her body is small and low to the ground making it easy for her to run against the wind and rain.
From head to toe;; Nose; Feather's nose often crusts around the edges during the spring and winter. Its soft pink is often getting poked by tall, sharp grass, and it brings water to her eyes.
Muzzle; Feather's muzzle is small and is rounded. It often gets water droplets on it and Feather fails to notice, so she is seen walking around the camp with a damp and fluffy muzzle.
Eyes; Her eyes are a light icy blue colour, her most distinguishable feature. They're high-set, large and almond shaped.
Ears; Feather's ears are the same color as the rest of her fur but it appears lighter because of their soft and fuzzy look. The insides of her ears are a fuzzy gray color and the hairs are long, covering most of the inside.
Neck; Going down her muzzle, to her neck, and down all the way to her belly is soft white fur.
Belly; Feather's belly is like her neck and muzzle, the soft white fur travels all the way down her body, ending just before the tail. Her belly is thin and often concave even during the Summer.
Fore-legs and Hind-legs; Feather’s hind-legs have always been strong because as a kitten, she’d often climb down to places only climbing up can get you out of. All of these small adventures strengthened her hind-legs because she often had to jump place to place. She very rarely used her fore-legs to climb up the rocks. Now that she’s an apprentice, she needs her fore-legs for more things, but they’re too weak to do much of anything.
HISTORY |
Z E R O Months
Even the best of cats can show their bad side. Dawn was a very outgoing and rambunctious cat, always talking to the toms and always looking for an adventure. Her last adventure was taken too far and more than one cat was hurt in the process. Dawn found her "love" in a tom named Talon. Talon was a very nice, kind and loving tom who loved kittens and would always protect those in need. This love bloomed greatly in Talon and he would do anything for Dawn. Soon Dawn was expecting kits and every thing changed. Dawn slowly turned against Talon, not trusting him and shoving him away.
Dawn started to argue with Talon, and he had argued back. During one of their worst fights, Dawn had sharp pains in her stomach and she soon realized that she was kitting. Talon forgot all of his anger to help his mate, but she sent him away, refusing to let him watch. Her anger was still strong when her kits was born, one kit was named Feather, the other Ash. Dawn refused to let Talon see the kits for almost a moon. Dawn argued that Talon would trample on the kittens, harming them, but Talon was a well balanced cat and there was no reason to fear trampling. When Feather was old enough to leave her mother for an extended time, the first thing she did was run to her father and that had upset Dawn greatly. While Feather was always with her dad, Ash refused to leave her mother's side.

When ever Talon was around Feather ran straight to him and almost never left his side. Talon did not mind, but Dawn really didn't like it. Feather had a habit of walking one tail length behind Talon when he was moving around Hexasol. It was with her father that she met many loners and on a rare occasion she'd meet someone from Lexis.

It was with Talon that she ate her first kill, practiced her hunting moves and learned to fight. He was her best friend and she was beginning to leave his side less and less. Because of this, along with Feather running back to her mom and talking about her day, that Dawn became harder and less likely to talk to Talon and Feather. Soon, the only person Dawn spoke to was Ash.

Dawn finally went into a depressed state and Ash was still the only cat she would talk to, and even that was becoming less and less often. The only thing Dawn ever had energy for was fighting with Talon. Feather and Ash never spoke, Feather guessed that Ash secretly hated Feather for being on Talon's side.

The small amount of hatred grew in Ash and the large amount of jealousy grew in Feather. The two sisters almost never spoke and only interacted together when they absolutely needed to. Feather felt guilt over the next few weeks, but Ash felt no regret in hating her sister.

Dawn and Talon were reaching a breaking point, only really staying around each other to raise their kits. Feather and Ash were now beginning to argue themselves and the entire family was becoming a mess.

When Talon saw that his daughters were now old enough to support themselves, with Dawn's help, he decided to take Feather and leave. He had talked to Feather for some time before they left together. Feather hasn't seen Dawn since.

Feather was trained extensively by Talon. She soon became great at hunting and an average fighter. Talon taught her the basics and everything and focused on Feather's stronger points.

Now old enough to care for herself she and Talon parted ways. Feather was sad when this happened but accepted this as a part of growing up. What she didn't expect was to never see Talon again. No one in Hexasol had seen him ever again, most assumed he left town.
Soon after this Feather decided to join the cause and become apart of Lexis while unknown to her Ash joined Iris.

Feather is searching for Talon, Ash or Dawn. She hasn't seen any of them for a year and is wondering where each is. Talon is her goal, no one in Hexasol has seen him in a year.
SAMPLE |
Feather took a deep, calming breath as she padded through the cold and snowy streets of Hexasol. She was tired, cold to the bones, and each step was painful to take. But she took every step and endured every pain with the hope of finding her father. Talon had been missing for over a year now, Feather refused t believe that her father had up and left her here in Hexasol without consulting her first. When they had parted ways he had promised that they would see each other again. Feather hung onto those parting words with all she could. She loved her father dearly and missed him painfully with each breath she took.
Feather turned the street corner and came to another dead end. There were no immediate signs of life here and she wouldn't be surprised to find a frozen mouse underneath all the snow. It was almost unnatural to live in weather like this. Personally Feather was okay with the cold, her thick fur was made for this type of temperature. However, she knew that many cats and dogs in Hexasol were not as fortunate and may freeze to death if the hunger didn't claim them first. The silver she-cat turned around and made her way through the snow again, her original paw prints now covered by fresh snow.
She was looking for her father for the umpteenth time today. Every day started the same. She would leave her nest and begin her journey through the city of Hexasol. She had a strong mental map of the city because of this, she traveled to a new part of town everyday. Occasionally she came across someone who knew her father but like herself they had not seen him for a year now.
The silver she-cat braced her self against the wind and turned into a familiar part of the city. Maybe it was time to go home, try to get warm, and hunt for a meal. Hunting for something in this weather could take all day, she may even go hungry tonight.
She knew that her father would know what to do, he had lived through many more seasons than she had and even knew what the world was like when the humans were alive. He could guide her to survival.
Feather looked to the white sky and watched the snow fall towards her. She couldn't stop looking because giving up was like believing he was dead. Her father was not dead. She would find him one day, no matter how long it took.
