[scrolly:h(270),w(258),sy] "Speech." She was a nobody, she was nothing to Tempest, Iris or Lexis, they didn't even know she existed. Not that she was complaining, to be honest Natiri wouldn't of had it any other way. She could not imagine what it must be like for her best friend, Denim. No matter where he went, the legacy of his mother and father seemed to follow him. At least Iri could blend into the crowd of canines that made up the infamous Tempest Pack. She was nothing special and never would be, her father had never led an army to rip the enemy open, led them to their deaths. Her mother had never forced another being to murder and consume their own children. Sometimes she wished that she didn't know everything that she did. She wished that maybe her parents could have been a lone peaceful couple far away from all this drama, away from Hexasol. Would it have changed anything, would Natiri have been any different? Who knows.
Light hazel eyes flickered open as the faint dawn light began to seep through the broken windows, and the beautiful long-haired she-dog yawned silently. Natiri stretched where she lay, upon an old faded curtain that had fallen to the floor beneath the window. She licked her chest fur tiredly, before placing her muzzle upon her paws once more. The bitch was tired, tired of thinking and worrying, tired of staying up all night pacing because she couldn't sleep. Now she longed to sink into the warm depths of dreamland but of course, within no time at all the Asylum would be a hive of activity. She sighed quietly, relishing in the silence that hung in the pleasantly cool air. Natiri wriggled further down into the material, trying to force herself to fall asleep but still it evaded her. The female lifted her head once more, shaking it softly and turned to watch, through the smashed open window, the gloriously beautiful summer sunrise.
Natiri lifted herself almost reluctantly from her warm bed, padded out into the hall, down the stairs and out into the early morning. It was still relatively dark though the sun's rays were now beginning to make an appearance across the land and the fresh crisp scents of the dawn invigorated Natiri. It was with a slight spring in her step that she set off into the city. She let her paws carry her forth, lost in thought and so it was with mild surprise that she found herself heading straight for the railway tracks. The very first meeting place of herself and Denim. The female smiled peacefully, slowing to a walk and choosing to sit down beside one of the old carts. The golden rays shone clearly down upon Natiri and she basked silently in the morning sunshine, listening to the sounds around her and watching the swallows dancing against the backdrop of the magnificent early blue sky.

"Speech"
Hektor twitched in his sleep. On of his occasional nightmares was beginning to spread its dark fingers over his dream world, perhaps brought on by the stale scent of felines in the place he was sleeping. Dark eyes flashed open, a mixture of fear and anger burning in their expression. Hektor looked around quickly before realizing that the cat had been in his dream. He should have known, since it was the first cat he ever killed. Some might say murdered rather than just killed, but Hektor never used that word when a feline was killed. It was for the good of the planet that cats die. In his eyes, they were the scum of the earth, the lowest of low.
The large dog stretched, standing up from his previously comfortable position. The sun was just beginning to rise over the world, shining pure morning light into the abandoned train car where Hektor had decided to rest the night before. Hektors eyes glanced around. He had been following the rusted tracks for a few days now, but hadn't really found anything of interest. His stomach growled, reminding him that his last meal was eaten on the night he found the tracks. A silent yawn escaped his powerful jaws as he jumped down from his shelter. As his paws hit the ground, he squinted his eyes, letting them adjust to the greater brightness outside. His mild hunger prompted him to lift his nose to search for signs of prey, but his nostrils were met by a more unexpected scent; another dog. The breeze picked up, and immediately, he knew where the dog was. The scent mark placed it directly on the other side of the train car.
Hektor quietly lowered his head to glance under the train car. Sure enough, there sat a tri colored dog. Hektor crept around the car, careful not to alert her to his presence. Luckily, the breeze was in his favor, so it was unlikely she had caught his scent yet. Suddenly, he made himself seen by stepping out of his hiding place. "Who are you?" he said, voice gruff and low. His body was held with confidence, but also a bit of distrust. Hektor never put his trust in anybody without a good reason. He stood completely still, waiting for a reply from the stranger.

[scrolly:h(270),w(258),sy] "Speech." Mild, hazel eyes gazed upwards in a thoughtful manner. Her heart leaped at the thought of simply being able to walk away into pleasant morning without looking back, without worrying what her family would think or do. Of course, her boisterous siblings and her less-than affection parents irritated her beyond imaginable belief at times but at the end of the day .. they were all she had, and they held a fond place in her heart. Despite this, Natiri liked to spend as little time with her parents, brothers and sisters as possible. Their views on the world were narrow-minded and their answer to everything was violence and aggression. She was bored of lying to them, pretending to go alone with it all when really she just wanted to get away. The long-haired female felt almost as though she were drowning, suffocating in the stifling tense air. It would only be a matter of time before she would be required to actually do battle with the Iris Pride, she hoped however that the day would never come.
She was distracted by the padding of heavy paws to her left and the she-dog's head whipped round, rising to he feet immediately. Natiri stared at the newcomer, taking one slow step backwards for she recognized the pure strength in the large brute's shoulders. Her nose told her he was not of Tempest blood, therefore he must of course be a rogue. Had he been working for Iris, there would have been small signs that would have given him away. Iri did not notice such clues, and so relaxed a little. All the same loners were known for being somewhat sly characters, caring only for the skin on their own backs. Though not that she could judge, for the bitch would put her life first before all else; but wait. What about Denim? If he was in trouble, would she risk her health and safety to aid him.. well of course, her loyalty to him was unconditional and even the idea of her best friend and confidant being in danger made her heart skip a beat.
Iri blinked slowly and coldly, her eyes expressionless now, empty bar the calculating iciness that gleamed in her light mocha eyes. She did not move a muscle now, standing as though she were locked into position and the female merely flicked her ear at his intrusive words. Well, to any normal canine or feline asking whom one is would not be in the slightest bit abnormal and yet Iri was not like everyone else. She was guarded and studious, not allowing anybody close to her unless she was fully sure they could be trusted. Even with Denim she had her moments. So then. If she was so mistrustful of the large dog that glared before her, why the bark were her paws tingling and her pelt burning? She could not help the silent tempest that raged inconspicuously within her mind. She had never experienced such bizarre physical sensations before, and therefore Natiri did not realize this was her body's way of telling her that she was attracted to the male.
For a while there was a heavy silence. Iri was not fussed, she did not feel the desperate need to fill the quiet tranquility though she did finally sit down. Her eyes flitted to a swallow that danced above the pair of them delightedly, so free, so happy. Her gaze softened somewhat and a half-smile tugged at her pretty face. And so the silence continued on..
COMPLETED.
