------three • female • canine • german shepherd + chow mix • n / a • n / a------ PERSONALITY | Andy’s a bit of a mix of different personalities. She has a genuine love of the things around her, and it sometimes seems like she’s always high on life, or that her mind isn’t functioning properly enough to tell her which things are dangerous, and which things she can play with. From the start, she was never really one to shy away from the sword, and that trait is consistent in the way she treats everything. If she’s curious, she’ll go after it; if she’s angry, she’ll fight it – verbally, or nonverbally. If she loves or trusts, she’ll approach it slowly, then take the fall, no matter how deep it may be. It’s her most fatal flaw. Everything she does, she tends to give it her all – she’ll never walk where she can run, she’ll never jump where she can fly. She’s easily saddened and discouraged by the words and judgments of others, and tends to take all things personally. Sometimes, it seems like the only times that she’s ever truly free are when she’s getting an adrenaline rush from doing something risky, or braving the wind in a sprint across an empty field. Being reckless is her main strength and weakness, and it often makes her wonder if she’s too unconventional to survive in the dog-eat-dog world that everything’s eagerly turned into.
• likes | little trinkets, like gems and old human jewelry; parkour, swimming, and adrenaline rushes. • dislikes | loneliness, freezing temperatures, feeling trapped or caged. • goals | to have as much fun as possible, even if it threatens to shorten her life in the long run - quality over quantity. • fears | falling into a frozen lake, lasting pain and illnesses • strengths | agility, speed, undying loyalty to old friends, and a thirst to do what others shy away from. • weaknesses | at times, she can be hot-headed in bad situations. she has a problem letting go of old alliances, and will forgive even the bloodiest deeds in order to continue a friendship. • mental disorders | n / a - she's simply a little dog with a big personality.
APPEARANCE | She's right in the middle of what a mix between a Chow and a German Shepherd should look like. Her fur is tan, with various lighter and darker colors scattered about to make it seem like a faded, lighter version of a red fox coat. Her eyes are a light, caramel-like color to match the rest of her body. She stands a bit smaller than the average German Shepherd, but she makes up for it with smoldering facial features that hint at her bloodlines. Her fur can grow quite long and fluffy in the winter, though it sheds like crazy once spring comes around and the weather gets hotter. Her body build is lean and agile, from many years of running and jumping on and through things that she shouldn’t have approached to begin with.
• height | 21 inches • weight | 52 lbs • fur colour | tan, with a reddish tint on her face and back. she has darker, caramel-colored fur on her ears and the tip of her tail, as well as some black and white fur on the tip of her snout. The area around her eyes is a shade of dark brown, and the fur on her chest and stomach are a lighter shade of tan. • eye colour | amber • scars | she has a few scars on her sides from mild hunting injuries, but they're faded and hidden under her fur. • noticeable features | her coat kind of resembles a faded, lighter version of a red fox's coat. she has a bit of a southern drawl. • physical disorders | n / a HISTORY | There once was a prized Chow Chow named Bonnie; she was a show dog belonging to a New York woman called Jennifer. The woman was always overworking herself with dog shows, and headed down to Savannah, Georgia with Bonnie to try to have a good time before a dog show in a neighboring state. Unfortunately, that was when the virus hit – and sparing people was certainly not in its instructions. Without an owner to look after her, Bonnie took to the streets, trying to make sense of what was happening to the world around her. She wandered the city on her own for a year or two, braving the strange feline vs. canine war that seemed to take over the city streets. Quickly getting sick of the violence, she decided to take on a new adventure, and headed off into the countryside – the swamps, woods, orchards, and meadows of Georgia. They were harsh and unwelcoming, specially with their snakes and other dangerous reptiles. It wasn’t long before she came across the likes of a hunting dog named Red, a German Shepherd. Southern charm and hospitality took the two the rest of the way, back to Red’s lifelong home on a horse ranch. A year later, the unlikely pair was blessed with two pups – one female, and one male. They named the girl Andy, and the boy Harley. Down where they were born, it was heaven on earth. A river ran by the side of the ranch, washing up on the red-dirt banks. The horses had gone feral – forming a herd just as wild as their ancestors’. It was a little, Southern oasis, away from the battles of the species that raged on in the cities. Red, Bonnie, Andy, and Harley were a happy little family, living with a few of the other hunting dogs that called the ranch a home. Together, they braved the predators that threatened their haven, and chased off anyone who wanted to spread the war into their neck of the woods. When the pups were about two years old, Red took them hunting in the nearby forest. It was an experience like no other, and it both scared and thrilled the yearlings to the bone. Andy quickly became an adrenaline junkie, and wanted to do it more and more, seeing it as a fun experience, while her brother saw it more seriously. She enjoyed the way it felt when she was chasing something, and when whatever she was trying to catch started fighting back, while Harley was in it only to bring back the food to the family. It quickly seemed that, as the months rolled by, the two siblings couldn’t be any more different. It took several squabbles and a few more hunting trips until something finally sparked the fire that’d drive them apart. It was a hunting trip like any other, just the three of them stalking down a buck to feed them for a few more weeks. When they caught sight of it, Andy eagerly jumped in, giving it her complete attention and focus as she charged at it. What she didn’t expect, however, was that it would instantly fight back, rather than running off and tiring itself out for a while. Her father, seeing the sudden change of events, leapt in to protect her, getting slashed on his side by a few of the deer’s antlers in the process, and being forced to limp away from the battle, dripping blood as he found safety underneath a nearby tree. That time, Andy’s reckless habits had gone too far. Harley was furious, taking off to make sure their father was alright, with Andy following quickly at his heels in worry. However, he didn’t let her get close whatsoever. He yelled in anger, chasing her off like a rabid animal, while their father beckoned him to stop in the distance. But he didn’t – he didn’t give up the chase for quite a while, only retreating when he was sure that the careless burden that was his sibling was not intending on going home. Though her father survived the injuries without lasting damage, Harley stood watch at the door of the old barn for weeks, his stone-cold eyes peering into the shadows of the woods, almost as if he knew he was glaring right at his sister, daring her to return with her thoughtless antics. And so, with a heavy heart, Andy left the ranch, in search of anything that could ever match the warmth of her childhood home.
• season born | a very hot, humid summer. • place of birth | Savannah, Georgia • family | A show dog named Bonnie (Chow chow; mother), a hunting dog named Red (German Shepherd, father), and a brother named Harley (chow x shepherd) • memorable events | going hunting with her father, looking after the feral horses on the ranch, being chased away from home by her brother, and coming across Hexasol on her 'road trip'.
