"Speech."
Once again, the traveling Beagle was out exploring. He still found the countryside more exciting than the city. The country was also a bit safer than the city; everyone had to watch there backs for possible assailants. For Beni, he would have to be cautious of any felines that he met, any of them could be an Iris cat. He was lucky enough to not run into any Iris cats so far. But, the only reason he had chosen to live in Hexasol was because of the war. That's what he thought anyway. There was something about Tempest and Iris tht intrigued him. What it was, he didn't know.
A blizzard had stopped earlier and, despite the cold, the traveler headed in the direction of the falls. He wasn't looking for a relaxing swim in a pool, especially since it was freezing now, but he wanted to see what he could find there.
Everything was silent as he approached the falls, he was slightly confused by this. By now he should have heard the sound of water in the distance. When he finally arrived at the waterfall he could see why.
Just as he expected, the water was frozen. All of the water from the waterfall was frozen in place, connecting to the pool below. Slowly, Beni approached the pool and put one paw on the frozen water. It was hard as stone. He carefully stepped on the frozen water and tried to steady himself. It was safe to walk on, but somewhat difficult to balance on. As best as he could, the traveler walked over to the frozen waterfall.
(sorry it took so long. and sorry it's not very good)

It was around this time of the year Caramell was thankful for having such a thick coat. It didn't help keep her paw pads from going a bit numb, however. She didn't pay much attention to her paws, though, just on random things in her surrounds. Anything to keep her mind off of the thing that caused her to want to travel away from Lexis for the time being.
As the small leopard mix padded through the snow, large paws causing the snow to crunch with every step, she listened carefully for the sound of the waterfall. She had expected to hear it by now, but there were no sounds other than the crunch of snow and a lone bird singing in the distance. It was dreadfully cold out, it would be awful if the falls were frozen over. A look over worry crossed the feline's faces and she picked up her paced.
Just as she had fear, the water was frozen over. Even the constantly moving waterfall was stiff from the top all the way down to the bottom. If a body of water this large and fast flowing had frozen, the lake and river probably were as well. This winter was certainly going to make getting a drink of water a task. But maybe the ice could be put to other use.
Caramell made her way to the edge of the water, wasting no time setting a front paw down to test it. Yep, frozen solid. She picked up her paw and turned away, moving several paces away. She crouched, wriggled her behind a bit, then bolted herself towards the ice. A few moments later, she was skating across the slick surface with a smile plastered on her face. Once she hit the other side, she repeated the process and began going back and forth across the ice.
Around the fourth time, she caught something out of the corner of her eye. She turned and sure enough, there was a small canine stumbling on the ice. While she wasn't paying attention, she crashed into the side of the water, ending up halfway under the snow. She wriggled a bit and pulled herself out, covered in snow. She turned her attention back to the dog, padding back out onto the ice. She made sure to stay a safe distance away before calling out to him - you never now how mean someone might be. "You look like you're having a bit of trouble there, need some help?"

"Speech."
Though he fell a few times, he managed to make his way across the pool and to the frozen waterfall. He looked around one side of the frozen wall of ice and smirked at what he saw. What's a word to describe this, cliche? Just as he thought, hidden behind the frozen waterfall there was a cave. If the water had still been moving, the cave probably would be too dangerous to get to, even if someone had already seen it before.
The traveler slowly tried to move away from the frozen water and toward the entrance, curious about what could be inside. Was it big and connected to different areas and other waterfalls? Or was the traveler in for some disappointment and the cave was only big enough to house a mother bear and cubs? It wouldn't hurt to look anyway.
The sight of something sliding around on the ice drew the beagles attention away from the cave. He put his shoulder on the wall of ice to balance himself and turned to see what it was. There was a feline, having fun and happily sliding around on the ice. Beni couldn't help but smirk at the sight.
"I'm fine, thanks for the concern." He called out to her, his Italian accented voice could be heard clearly. "Come closer if you want to, I have no reason to hurt you. Come see." He said as he turned and gestured to the cave entrance. "Have you seen that before?" He said, once again looked behind the wall.
(another bad post, still getting used to his personality)

Caramell tried to follow the small canine's gaze, but she couldn't even catch a glimpse of whatever it was from where she was standing. She tilted her head some, but that didn't work either. She turned her attention back to the dog when he began speaking, a look of interest crossing her face at his accent. She gave him a friendly smile and nodded. "Alright," She purred, straightening her head.
She tilted her head again when he invited her to come closer. Usually smaller animals weren't this comfortable around her, she guessed this was a good sign and that she should be comfortable around him too. She could tell by his scent that he was a loner, so maybe she really didn't have anything to worry about.
She slowly padded forward, large paws helping her keep her balance in the ice. She stopped and sat down a few paces away but in clear view of what he was trying to show her. There was a cave behind the waterfall. 'How dreadfully cliche,' She thought. 'If only there was sort of secret base for a group of loners hidden inside.' She chuckled silently to herself, then turned to the dog. "No, I haven't. I guess one could have guessed it was back here though," She grinned. "Is there something inside you need, or did you just stumble across it?"
Oh, how horribly rude of her. Usually she was more polite and introduced herself to new animals. "I'm Caramell, by the way. Daughter of the late Lexis leader, Rabba." She chirped proudly.

"No, I haven't. I guess one could have guessed it was back here though,"
Beni couldn't help but giggle. He wasn't the only one who thought that then. Maybe he wouldn't have been the first to look behind the frozen waterfall either. "I found it just now. Something told me to look back here."He said, still smiling and looked to the feline.
He inwardly scolded himself for not introducing himself sooner. He waited for the feline, Caramell, to finish speaking before introducing himself as well. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Beniamino, Beni for short. Just a dog who loves to travel." He didn't know much about the lexis tribe, other than they were possibly without a leader at the moment, but he did know that they were the more peaceful pack within the city. He couldn't help but pity the Lexis tribe in their current situation, but there wasn't much he would be able to do to help them. He wasn't really the leader type anyway.
He turned to look at the cave entrance and started to move forward. "Come on, want to go check it out?" He said before sliding on the ice, like Caramell had been doing, toward the cave. Beni smiled when he looked around the inside, it was just as he hoped it would be.
It was somewhat large and wide, kind of like a dome, and at the back of the entrance was a dark, wide tunnel. He padded to the back of the cave and into the tunnel. There was a little light provided by the outside but it got darker further down. Luckily, the beagle would be able to see where he was going almost perfectly. Slowly, Beni walked down the tunnel, looking left and right and up at the ceiling where he could see stalactites firmly attached and hanging above them.

The clouded leopard mix nodded her head as he spoke. "I wonder if any other travelers have thought to look back here," Looking around, she could see why, if no one had in fact found it before. Unless the falls were frozen, like they are now, it would be far too dangerous. Anyone who tried would probably be swept away in the current and knocked around on any rocks. Caramell shivered at the though, turning her attention back to the small dog.
Caramell gave him a friendly grin. "It's nice to meet you as well, Beni." She purred, deciding against trying to say his whole name. She's probably butcher it to no end, which was never a polite thing to do, and her father taught her to always do what's polite. She hoped her father would be proud of her.
"Come on, want to go check it out?"
"Oh yes, that sounds lovely!" Caramell chirped, following the canine along the ice and into the cave. Her brown eyes scanned the walls and ceiling on the cave as soon as they were inside. She mouthed a quite 'wow' as they padded though the cave and towards the tunnel at the back. Her eyes adjusted to the lack of light the further they went, making everything perfectly visible, though she wished there was actual light so she could see the sights better.
The feline stared in wonder at the stalactites hanging from the ceiling, having never seen such a thing before. "It's gorgeous," She whispered, not daring to tear her eye away, as if they were going to disappear the moment she did.

He was half expecting another cliche as the two walked through the tunnel. He was expecting to see bats flying overhead and out of the cave in fear, but this whether was probably too cold for them. After a few minutes of slowly walking through the dark tunnel, the beagle could see light getting brighter and brighter the closer the cat and dog got. Soon he exited the tunnel and entered another cave, one much larger than the first one they walked through.
There was a hole far up on the ceiling, allowing sunlight in to illuminate the dark cave. The walls were made of a type of stone he had never seen before. This unfamiliar stone made up most of the cave, which looked large enough to house maybe a small or medium sized pack. At the back of the cave were two more tunnels. They were just as dark as the one they had emerged from but, they were larger and wider.
"Who would've expected to find this." His italian accented voice echoed through the cave as he approached one of the walls. Part of the wall stuck out like a seat or a bed. He put his forelegs up on that part of the wall and sniffed at it. He couldn't find any signs that anyone else had been here. If anyone had already found this place, their scents had probably already faded by now.
Beni inspected the stone and noted how smooth and cold it felt, ice maybe. He could hear wind blowing in from the hole in the ceiling, so maybe that's what it was.

To the small leopard's relief, there was not a secret group of maniacs hidden within the cave. Unless they just hadn't gone far enough in yet, but there were no scents or signs showing that any other animals had been in here for a long time, if ever.
As the two animals wondered further into the, Caramell's eyes were fixed onto the walls and ceilings, soaking in all of the detail and beauty. While her attention was elsewhere, she did note the change in lighting as it got brighter. The feline's eyes widened as the exited the tunnel, the size of the cave they had entered catching her off guard. Her eyes scanned the entire cave, taking in the whole scene. The hole in the ceiling made for a perfect source of light, which shined beautifully off of the stone. The two tunnels at the back caught her attention, and she suddenly felt very adventurous.
She turned towards Beni when he began speaking, slowly shaking her head at the canine's words. "Certainly not me," She purred, eyes beginning to roam once more. She padded off towards the back of the cave, curious to get a look at the two tunnels. She stopped a good distance away, craning her neck to peer into one of them. The hole only offer so much light to the tunnels, making it hard to see what she was looking for.
Sitting down, Caramell turned her head to where the small canine was inspecting some stone. "Beni," She called, voice echoing off of the walls, catching her attention, and nearly making her forget what she was going to ask. "Do you think these tunnel meet somewhere?"
