Few prey animals were surviving the cold snap; they were few and far between - as a result of the food shortage, Carousel's already low weight was continuing to drop. She was only grateful for the fact that her thick, if short, fur was keeping her warm so long as she stayed inside of the old human constructions that made up Hexasol city. It wasn't easy however to survive in such conditions as those created by the heavy snows that fell outside, especially not with her leg being the way that it was. Instead, Carousel remained in what was one of the underground car parks but was now more like a graveyard of metal lumps for which Carousel neither knew the purpose of nor understanding for their location. Carousel had found herself a small car that had what would have been used to put a child in, a seat on top of a seat - and although it puzzled her the warm blanket that lay inside of it and made her attempt the jump and she had somehow managed to haul herself into it and curl up. What she didn't expect however was the sound of a bell from underneath her as she shifted to become comfortable. Her ears perked up in curiosity. The sound though did not come back again as she stilled and so she laid her head on her paws and shut her eyes, trying to forget the chill that had hit her when she had left the building that day to search for water earlier that day. Sadly, she had encountered no new faces, no one new to swish her tail at and plead with for for. She supposed that most others with any sense were staying inside too - a wet coat was hardly a good thing to come by in the winter and going out in the snow was a guaranteed ticket for one. Only a fool would try it. Carousel's green eyes glanced around as a purr of amusement rumbled in her chest at the very thought of it..and it was then that the face appeared in the door. |
