(This thread is meant to be a kind of flashback. Everything that happens here is when Sly is younger than 9 months. Sorry if that's not a good enough explanation) It was kind of like he was half asleep; his mind didn't register much. He could only hear the sound of water, he was freezing, and he felt like he was floating. He would have thought that he was dreaming but, he felt a sharp pain in the side of his head. He lost consciousness again for a few moments until he felt teeth dig into his flesh and pull. The young male still didn't register what had happened, and he didn't wake up until he could feel solid ground under him.
The young feline slowly opened his eyes and finally became aware of his surroundings.
He slowly rolled over onto his belly and finally acknowledged his headache. Slowly, he moved his head left and right to look around. There were buildings of various sizes in the distance, and he could see something, a cat or dog, wandering the streets. Next to him was a river with slow moving water and chunks of ice floating with it. His fur was soaked, and he was still freezing.
'I was in the river? Why?' Fear and confusion could clearly be seen on his face once he realized he didn't know anything; he couldn't remember who he was or why and how he got here, wherever 'here' was.
He finally turned his attention to the female in front of him but, he didn't say anything. No doubt this female before him was the one who rescued him but, it was obvious that he was frightened and confused. He stayed where he was, laying on his belly looking up at the black cat and waiting to see what she would do.
(Black Widow fist, then the others later)

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/blackmiddle_zps496fa800.jpg]It took a few seconds for her heart to start beating again, she was so scared that the kitten in front of her was dead. The apprehension made her insides cold, like her blood had suddenly turned to frigid ice. Her normally cold and harsh yellow eyes were now fixed upon the little body, wide and for once, frightened. She bent over the little kitten, pressing her black nose to his frigid skin, listening for a heartbeat. She held her breath. Yes, it was faint, but it was there. A sigh of relief escaped her, and she withdrew her head. The young feline opened his eyes and looked around, feebly, slowly, becoming aware of his surroundings. Not willing to frighten the youngster any more than he was already, the female stepped back slightly, sitting on her haunches and waiting for him to recover more before she could do anything else to warm him.
She had been collecting the town rumours, infiltrating the gathering places that canines and felines alike used, charming and manipulating her way into their trust. A few interesting notices had reached her ears, and she had called it a day, setting out into the still-snowed in streets back towards Amazon territory. An ordinary day like any other. As she had passed the river, she had paused, letting her gaze slip to the other side, watching the blocks of ice bob in and out of the frigid waves. Suddenly, her eye had been caught by a mottled golden form being thrown around by the current. She didn't know what possessed her to immediately bolt towards it, running along the ice, her sleek black form flying through the air until she was in a fit position to pick up the little kitten, but she had never felt her heart racing like that in fear. Never. Careful not to fall in herself, she had pulled him out by the scruff.
There was confusion and fear written clearly on the kitten's face as he looked up at her. Laying on his belly, shivering, the kitten turned his brown eyes to her, waiting for what she would do, and a wave of compassion and softness washed over her, so strong, of the likes she had never felt before. In truth, it scared her. But for the kitten, she kept her face free of fear, yet she was unable to keep the tenderness out of her eyes. “Hey there. Are you okay? Are you hurting anywhere?” she asked, her cold voice soft. She inched closer. “How about we get you to safety. Can you stand?”

He continued to lay there, on his belly, shivering from the cold and from fear of what could happen to him. He relaxed a little when he saw her expression, but he couldn't keep himself from shivering.
“Hey there. Are you okay? Are you hurting anywhere?”
He decided to give this female his full trust. After all, he had nowhere to go, if he did he couldn't remember where it was. He lifted a paw to gingerly touch the spot on his head that had hit a stone sometime before being pulled from the river. "My head hurts." That was all he said as he stared at the ground, trying to remember what happened before waking up at a riverbank.
Nothing, he was drawing blanks. He had to have a family right? They were probably worried sick about him. Unless the female before him was his mother. Sure they didn't look the same but, there were plenty of offspring that didn't look exactly like their parents.
“How about we get you to safety. Can you stand?”
He put his paws underneath him and, slowly, pushed himself up. The pain in his head made him slightly dizzy, causing him to stop halfway up. He looked like he was ready to pounce on something. After a moment he was on his feet. He was still shivering and he stumbled slightly, but he would still be able to walk.
He looked back at the black cat again, his earlier fear and confusion now replaced with curiosity. Maybe they were related and he had nothing to worry about? He thought that maybe she was his mother but, he couldn't remember, no matter how hard he tried.
"What's your name?"

| [atrb=background,http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae113/gimble2355/blackmiddle_zps496fa800.jpg]The kitten relaxed slightly as he looked at her, which immediately brought a sense of relief to the female. At least she wasn't scaring him out of his wits any more than he already was. Looking him over, the female checked for injuries, broken bones or any other indication that he was hurt, but luckily, everything seemed in place. At least she probably wouldn't have to carry back into Amazon territory. The kitten wasn't that large, but looking just under a year old, he wasn't small either. She doubted she could have transported him all the way there.
My head hurts. He lifted a paw to his head. The female looked into his eyes, trying to assess if there was any risk of concussion. Somewhat focused, his eyes still seemed slightly in the vague, and a wave of worry washed over her. There seemed to be something wrong, but with any luck it would sort itself out after rest. “All right. A little rest should sort that out,” she said in her most reassuring tone of voice, “What's your name?”

Hoping that starting a conversation would help the kitten to recollect himself, the female asked the first question to pop in her mind. The female watched as the kitten tried to push himself up. “Slowly now,” she cautioned. In a few moments, the kitten was on his feet. He still stumbled slightly and his balance seemed a little off, but still, she wouldn't have to drag him back. Pushing herself to her feet, the female placed herself close to him, so that he could lean on her if he needed to. He looked at her with a new curiosity, his fear and confusion now seeming to vanish. What's your name? Her yellow eyes softened, happy to see him conversing and unafraid. “My name is Black Widow,” she said, “I'm taking you to the Amazons, where you will be safe. It will be warm there, and they'll have food if you're hungry.” A flicker of worry flighted through her as she thought of the very chilly attitude her sisters had towards males. She shook the thought away. Right now, she had more pressing priorities. Like getting this kitten to a warm place before he froze to death. -------------------------------------------------- words; 376 muse; 7/10 tags; Mika with Sylvester and Amazons! <33 notes; D'awww xD [/blockquote]

"Speech."
Black Widow was doing fine, more than fine actually, but Vanessa still tended to doubt her from time to time, even though it was something she did not show. The black feline wasn’t hostile against males as the rest of the gang usually was, but that wasn’t reason for Vanessa to question Black Widow’s loyalty. Vanessa knew that. And as long as no ill rumours of the black female wandered in the streets, the Blue Russian chose to not question Black Widow openly. She was good in her profession after all, a thing which Vanessa treasured dearly. They needed more of her kind. With more felines of her kind, the Amazons would grow into a strong pride.
But when the black she-cat hadn’t showed up in time, Vanessa had chosen to personally look after her. Trotting in the snow covered streets, the grey female soon caught Black Widow’s scent. She’d clearly been on her way back to Amazon territory, but something had made her change course though. What has she been up to? she wondered as her narrowed, green eyes followed the trail of Black Widow’s scent. She’d been sitting in a meeting with some Iris Pride members this morning, and two old males - who apparently saw themselves as much more important than Vanessa and her sisters – had gotten on her nerve. If they weren’t satisfied with the Amazons getting a part of the Iris Pride’s prey, they had to talk to Alexander, not her.
Letting such two stuck ups getting on her nerve was unprofessional, she knew it, but she chose to check up on Black Widow anyway. She could just have gone down to the river to get something to drink… in that case, a little friendly chat with one of the newest members of her gang couldn’t hurt. She picked up her pace to a steady run, almost expecting Widow to come toward her from Laredo River. She wasn’t a big cat, had never been it, so the snow easily flew around her ears as she softly bounced in the white powder.
She soon saw the black frame of her gang(ster) sister, which made her slow down to a soft trot, but as she saw Black Widow wasn’t alone, she came to a complete halt. A kitten Serval, probably about a year old, rise by her side. It looked confused and had a hard time getting on its four. Water dripping off its dappled fur told her it’d been in the water. But Vanessa didn’t care about the spotted feline’s wellbeing, because her nostrils soon caught an all too familiar scent. The Serval was a male. Kitten or not, what was Black Widow doing with it? Even supporting it so that it easier could stand! She walked closer with quick, angry steps. What in the world did Widow think she was doing? They hadn’t seen her yet, but as the black female mentioned bringing him to the Amazons – even giving the young male some of their food – Vanessa couldn’t shut up any longer. ”Oh no, you won’t.” Her voice lashed in the air as an attacking snake as she emerged the two felines. Now standing in front of them, the grey female stopped, her toxic green eyes looking up and down the male serval before it was Black Widow’s turn. ”Widow… What. Is. This,” she demanded, emphasizing every word as they slithered over her lips.
((OOC: Lol, gangster sister, I couldn't help it xD))

“What's your name?”
Either he was too busy focusing on standing up or, he just didn't answer. He was still drawing a blank, and his headache really wasn't helping. He shook the excess water from his coat once he was on his feat.
“My name is Black Widow,”
Black Widow. Once again, he tried to remember something, anything at all. The black felines name wasn't ringing any bells, even if he had known her before now. He looked down at the ground, looking like he could burst into tears at any moment. It was obvious he hadn't met her before, otherwise she would know his name, and he wouldn't have too much to worry about.
"I don't remember." He said, almost whispering. He sat down, still staring at the ground on the verge of tears. The young serval didn't hear what the black feline said after that but, he did hear another voice, one that was much harsher and, obviously, angry.
He looked up to see a grey feline approaching them. When the new female was looking at him, the young male was, suddenly, on his belly again, making himself look small and much more nonthreatening.
He slowly moved over to Black Widow as he cautiously watched the grey feline. Why was she so angry. Did he do something to her before now? Once again, he failed to remember anything.
He, fearfully, looked up at Black Widow, making sure she wasn't suddenly angry with him too. He turned his attention back to the angry grey cat, fear still visible on his features and eyes welling up with tears.
