There was pretty much no wind here. The ground was as dry as a bone and the air was still. Although Spring had only just greeted Hexasol, the temperature was high. It was as if Winter had never placed it's cold hand on to the deserted plains. The dingo was perched on a boulder, her pale brown eyes gazing out over the horizon. It was an amazing view. The sun high up in the sky, forcing great amounts of heat on the sandy ground. There was not a single white cloud amongst the blanket of blue.
Billie let out a deep and thoughtful sigh as she continued to gaze out over the flat lands that surrounded her. Her body was still except for the slow paced pulsing as she breathed. Her ears didn't twitch and her tail didn't wag. She was deep in thought. The female would come here often, it reminded her of her past life in Australia. Billie thought about her home lands alot. The hot air and the dusty land was very similar in Hexasol to that of Melbourne but it just wasn't the same. The scents were different and it was just...better. It was home. The dingo let out a second sigh as her thoughts continued to focus on Australia.
Finally she managed to detour her thoughts away from her memory of her home as a small black beetle scurried around in front of her. Billie just smirked at the tiny insect. She lifted one small white paw and placed it down in front of the beetle, causing it to crawl over it. It's tiny legs tickled and she shook it off her paw. The dingo grinned a menacing grin before pressing her paw down on the tiny beetle, crushing it instantly. Billie was quite a mean canine but who cared about one tiny beetle? She wasn't going to eat it, the very idea disgusted her. She just found it a fun activity to do. There were beetles like this in Australia and she would usually do the same thing there is she managed to find one.
The sandy coated canine finally scrambled to her paws. She stretched out each limb and yawned before licking her lips and glancing around. She sniffed the air thoroughly, nothing really that interesting catching her attention. The two and a half year old just sized a final sigh before hopping down from the dusty gray boulder. Billie glanced down at her paws before making her way through the plains, not really heading anywhere in particular.

"Speech!"
The air was hot and space stifling with a claustrophobic feel. Spring had just begun to replace winter yet already it was this hot and for a dingo who grew a thick winter coat the shedding was terrible. Sitting down on the dry dirt his golden foreleg came up to scratch at his side sending plumps of long winter coat into the air. This had been going on for days and already he was sick of it. Shedding itched and waking up to everyone complaining about your fur in their nose was a little more than annoying not to mention a tad embarrassing. Satisfied Diablo stood and shook, more of his long golden fur going into the air.
If you asked him why he was here he would ignore you because in truth he didn't know. Most dogs had skirted this place before but only on occasion had Diablo even ventured into here. This was a place of snakes, heat, and no water, who would bother coming to a place with no prey. Slowly walking Diablo couldn't determine why but he just felt comfortable here even with his coat being much to thick right now for it. It felt right, it felt like home.
Scuttling in his side view caused the dingo to pounce on a lizard which had stupidly crossed its path. Holding the limp sandy colored thing the golden wild canine trotted toward a nice rock shelf of shade to lay under to eat his snack. Laying on the cool dirt of shade Diablo made quick work of the little thing and once there was nothing left he stretching out his front paws then flopped onto his side. Closing his eyes to hide the auburn eyes beneath he rested. Mouth gaped a bit he softly panted to let out a bit of heat as he rested. It was nice to rest in a place were he knew he was alone.
His rest was long and fulfilling but a single scent sent Diablo to his feet. He knew that sent. His younger days had been filled with it with no way of escaping and he had not smelled it sense. Not an old sent, not one carried by the wind, nothing. Now it drifted to him new and strong. On hasty paws he made his way from his hiding spot to the top of the rock out crop looking out hoping he would spot her. He could smell her, he swear he could. Doing a three sixty sweep his ears working like radars but he still couldn't spot her. Skin tingling with excitement the dingo who rarely spoke or showed any emotion whined.
He couldn't see her, where was she.?! Standing tall Diablo raised his head and opened his jaws to let out a long high pitched howl. He tried to keep the desperation from his voice but it was no use. The howl was out of pleading, pleading for an answer, pleading for her to come to him. Another one. He was not alone. A female dingo.

The sand beneath her feet left small paw print shapes as she walked, amusing her ever so slightly. She had learned from a young age that she should enjoy the little things in life and this was one of those moments. She continued to walk at a slow, steady pace, different thoughts drifting through her mind. The main thing being her vivid memory of her home and her family back in Australia. When she was first taken to the zoo in Hexasol, she would howl and whine until she passed out. It's what the humans would call crying themselves to sleep.
Her memories were disturbed however when a long, high pitched howl made it's way across the plains. Billie instantly recognized the call. "No way..." The dingo's ears twitched and her eyes darted around her, trying to catch a glimpse of the dingo that made the call. The last time she saw another dingo was back in Australia. Yes she was sent a zoo but she was left in her own enclosure. The humans called it 'quarantine'. After glancing around for a few moments, the female tilted her head back and howled in response. It was similar to the male's call but was shorter and of a higher pitch. Billie finished her howl before heading in the direction she had heard the male howl. She wasn't usually so eager to respond to a male's call but when the male in mention was a dingo, she just couldn't resist. She had longed ever since she came to Hexasol to find another dingo like her.
Finally she spotted him. She had hopped over some small boulders but finally he was in her sights. After spotting him, Billie let out a series of small barks to catch his attention. She had been striding over at a reasonably fast pace but now she had slowed down quite a lot. She held her head high as she approached the male, letting him know she wasn't on for any funny business and that if she had to, she would attack. By the howl he had made though, it suggested he wasn't looking for a fight, but for a companion. As she got closer, Billie could make out more of his physical features. He was slightly larger than herself and his coat had more sand color to it and less white markings. His muscles were quite prominent through his thin fur and he had a certain attractiveness to him.
"I heard you're howl." Was all Billie spoke as she got close enough for them to hear each other. She didn't get too close though incase he was just using his howl as a scheme to get her to approach him. She looked the male up and down. Yes he was a male and yes he was a dingo. Just because he fitted these tags, didn't mean she would go for him but he really did have quite an attractive appearance. If only he had the personality to go with it... Billie shook the thought from her head. What was she thinking? She'd only said one sentence to him, why was she thinking those type of things already. The female took a deep breath and removed the thought from her mind and just focused on what the fellow dingo was going to say.

"Speech!"
He had been right! Not that Diablo thought he was crazy and just smelling things but we all doubt our selves and even here this dingo had not been sure of what he smelled. Her call was like music to his ears and Diablo found his paws shifting with excitement looking around trying to spot her. Ear perked and twitching the dingo began pacing on his rock out crop eyes traveling over the barren place. Her barks drew his attention immediately and his auburn gaze fell on her with adoring eyes. A dingo, not some half breed, not some dog, no a real dingo striding toward him at a fast pace.
Bouncing down from his perch to meet her he stood at the rock base and instantly noticed when her steps grew slow. She was hesitant of him and Diablo could understand that. It was hard to trust in a world like this one. Shifting uncomfortably he tried to seem as unaggressive as possible with out looking like some submissive ninny. Smiling his tail wagged in a soft sway and with slow long steps he walked toward her. Air coming in through his nostrils Diablo couldn't help but intake as much of her scent as he possibly could. It wasn't just the fact that she was female which drew him to seek her out, it wasn't just the idea of her being female and him a male that made him want to get closer to her. It was the idea that he had found someone like him, someone he could happily call friend, call a pack mate. The dogs he shared his life with now deserved none of what he had to give and he knew that. If this dingo was as lonely as him he would be happy to be a friend to her or frankly what ever she wanted him to be.
Standing a few yards away Diablo sat down to show he wasn't going to attack her. The last thing he wanted was to get to close to give her ear a lick or flank a nuzzle and have her take off his ear. Being raised in the company of dingo females taught him they were as fierce and quick to bite as any male. So he gave her respectable space. If she came forward to great him he would be over joyed but if she preferred her space Diablo was perfectly happy just skirting around her.
“I'm glad you did,” he replied genuine happiness in his rough deep voice. His eyes ran over her taking in her form. She was a lean fit woman very admirable, her pelt was golden with quite a few white markings on her but that hardly bothered Diablo. Never was he an emotional man but looking at this piece of work in front of him he had to say it was quite a beautiful thing to behold.

The female's eyes remained focused on the male in front of her. She watched as his excitement built as he noticed her and she couldn't help but smile slightly, her tail picking up the pace as it wagged behind her. The last time she'd ever seen a dingo, let alone a male was back home in Australia and that was a few years ago. Billie rarely got excited over things but this situation was an exception. She could feel herself take a few steps closer to the male as she watched him lower his rear and sit down. She usually wouldn't be so intrigued by a stranger either but again, this case was a definite exception.
“I'm glad you did,” Billie's ears twitched as she heard the male speak. She nodded her head shortly after, so was she. Her mind floated through thoughts as she pondered over what she should reply with. She didn't really want to come clean out with her name as he was still a stranger but somehow, she felt closer to him than she usually did with other canines she had just met. "So, what brings you here?" The dingo asked, immediately regretting it. She knew immediately what brought him here. It was her scent. "I mean, what were you doing here in the plains before you howled?" She added in an attempt to correct her mistake.
As the two and a half year old dingo got closer to the male in front of her, his markings and other smaller features were easier to notice. He was larger than she was and their coats were quite similar, except he didn't have as much white markings as she did. Billie continued to observe this fine specimen of a male as she waited for his response, a clear expression of excitement written all over her face.

"Speech!"
Diablo watched the female before him and tried to keep the predator from his eyes. Yet the dingo couldn't help but show just a glamor of it. Here in from of him was a female dingo and he was o' so excited to see her but he watched her move and he couldn't help but marvel. As she moved closer he didn't move but his tail did. It wagged betraying his excitement and he couldn't help but squirm a bit wishing he could get up. He wanted to lick her, he wanted to nip her ear then run, to play because he was so excited to have finally found her.
She was one of him, she was what he had been looking for. A being worthy of his attention, his friend, a worthy pack mate. Looking at her with amber eyes he really had to focus to answer her question. Looking down he chuckled then looked back to her with a smile. Small talk, how lovely, at least it was a good way to get to know someone. “Nothing... This is what I do all day. Nothing. Walking around looking for something worth it,”
|
he said with a smile. All that had spilled out of his mouth and he could hardly believe it but he didn't care. He didn't care he had just ripped open a little part of his soul and set it at her paws because he had found the one thing he had always been looking for sense he had broken out of the zoo. He chuckle, “I'm sorry.” Standing he walked toward her slowly. “I don't care if you rip my ear off for this because I'm going to do it anyway,” he said slowly. If she allowed he would get just about nose to nose with her then with speed he'd lick her ear and run. “GOTTCHA!” He turned tail and ran as if his tail was on fire laughing. Running through the desert land he weaved through shrubs and leaped over rocks swimming in the euphoria of finally having found what he had for many years been searching for. Billie walks. Billie talks. Billie's thoughts.
Billie simply couldn't believe what was standing in front of her. It was a dingo. A real dingo. Not just some petty half-breed but a real, full-blooded dingo. The female's body was itching with excitement and her tail continued to wag at a faster rate than it had ever done for a really long time. The last time she had been this happy and this excited was back when she was a little pup and her father brought back her first solid meal. She could still remember the taste as the hare touched her tongue for the very first time.
Dashing back to reality, Billie had an expression of pure joy and delight. It really felt like a dream. “Nothing... This is what I do all day. Nothing. Walking around looking for something worth it,” The female's pointed ears twitched as she heard the male speak. His voice wasn't what she had expected though. It didn't have any sense of Australia to it. Despite this, Billie didn't stop her frequent wagging for one second. Who cares if he didn't have the accent. He was still a dingo, and a rather attractive one at that.
“I'm sorry. I don't care if you rip my ear off for this because I'm going to do it anyway,” The two and a half year old tilted her head to the side, a confused but playful expression on her features. It was at that moment that the male had slowly started to approach her, making Billie feel a bit uncomfortable. What was he going to do? She just watched the male closely, not wanting to be distracted for a single moment. The two wild canines were almost nose to nose when she felt something moist touch her ear. It was his tongue. “GOTTCHA!” Before she had time to react, he was off in a flash, his body had spun around and was racing in the other direction. "Hey!" She barked in a high-pitched tone. Billie had no choice but to go after him. She quickly hopped to her paws and bound after him. Her pink tongue hung from her jaw as she chased after the male in long strides. She felt like a puppy again, playing with her brother. Except this time, it was a male she had no relation too and this excited her.

"Speech!"
Running through the desert Diablo felt amazing. He heard her bark and pranced as he ran. Though it felt amazing to run with this woman hot on his tail he was to distant from her. This was fresh and new to Diablo so how could he distance himself from her when he had just found her? Turning to her he lowered his front end with his tail wagging excitedly. Jumping up he jumped around her once prancing on his toes around her. He was just being playful with her because even if he was a man and she a woman and Diablo found her beautiful this wasn't about that. If they were the last ones like Adam and Eve this guy wasn't about to make her feel like it. Weirding her out was not what he wanted to do.
“Come on,”
|
he said with a smile. The sun was hot on Diablo and though it wasn't to bothersome to a dingo he still led her to the small bit of shade a shriveled dead tree gave. Sitting down he smiled his tail still moving watching her waiting for her to sit as well. “So,” he started casually his rough deep voice softly flowing through the space. “What brings you all the way out here? I mean I haven't seen you around Tempest so do you live out here?” he said looking around to motion to the barren land around. He didn't know her name yet but she seemed to be skirting around it. That hadn't been the first question she had asked which was a usual first question so that made him think she didn't want to share names quite yet. Diablo was willing to play her game, let her lead and shift the situation at her will. A dominant man he was but right now was different. If she was happy he was and she must be because his tail just wouldn't settle down. [/blockquote]

Billie walks. Billie talks. Billie's thoughts.
Billie had never felt like she had a connection with someone after her family in Australia and it almost felt unreal. 'You're with a dingo Billie. A real life dingo."She just simply couldn't get over the fact that there was someone like her. She knew she kept thinking those sentences over and over again in her mind but she just couldn't believe it. It was like a dream come true. He raced after him with long strides, eager to catch up with him. He wasn't that far ahead and when he slowed down and began to prance around her, it made the constant smile on her features so much larger. She was grinning from ear to ear and she just didn't want to stop this feeling. She giggled as the male bounced around her, her tail wagging frantically behind her like a little puppy. She would never in a million years believe that she would be able to feel so happy and content in the company of a stranger. But then again, never in a million years did she believe she would be in the company of a male dingo.
“Come on,” Billie had heard the male speak and he began to lead her over to a dead tree where there was shade. She didn't feel tired or feel that the weather was bothersome but she just wanted to do what he did. She followed after nodding her head. The two and a half year old canine watched as the male sat down underneath the shade and Billie immediately mimicked his actions. She took a seat beside him, only an inch or two away. She would never get this close so soon with any other canine but there was just something special about this male, other than the fact he was a dingo.
“So, what brings you all the way out here? I mean I haven't seen you around Tempest so do you live out here?” Billie kept her gaze focused on the male's deep brown eyes, her tongue hanging from her lower jaw. "Oh I'm not in the Tempest pack, I'm just a loner. I just go where I want, when I want." She replied with her strong Aussie accent. Billie constantly thought about introducing her name, but she was still reluctant. Maybe if he was to speak of his name, she would respond with her own. "The name's Billie by the way." She blurted out, going against her intentions. She just felt she was close enough to this dingo to let him know her name, after all, if she could sit within inches away from him, she should be able to speak her name. She scowled to herself mentally and just looked at the male, her tail beating furiously against the sandy ground, her amber eyes focused on him.

"Speech!"
Diablo had expected her to sit with him yes but maybe across from him, or a few feet away from his side not how close she came to him was not expected. It was not an unpleasant surprise he would be happy to say and he showed it. Shifting his weight toward the female Diablo closing the gap between then so that his golden flank leaned against her own. It was nothing more than a little signal of affection. Never in the asylum would Diablo simply sit next to a female and lean against her in a very innocent way of affection, but with her he wanted to give affection. He wanted to be a friend to her if she would allow him that.
Smiling he watched her and couldn't help but notice she seemed to be acting very similar to him. Her tail wagged, her tongue hung and he mirrored her doing the same thing. Both dingo's seemed to radiate with joy this evening and solely because they had each other for company. It was the innocent joy that follows the feeling of belonging, the feeling that you are not alone in this unforgiving world. As the female looked back at him he felt no need to waver his gaze. If it had been a look asking for a fight, he would have averted his eyes out of respect but here they were all to glad to look at each other with friendly gazes.
A loner. Diablo could not help but chuckle. She was stronger than he was in the fact that she could stand the lonely existence of someone with out a pack. Diablo had tried that life and only found it to be unbearable. Living on your own with no one around, no pack, no structure, and even if they were just dogs they gave the simple little perks of companionship. A place to stay with out having to fight for it every night, a person to keep you warm in winter, the same faces you can learn and know because you see them everyday are a few nice quirks. “Lonely way to live, don'tcha think?”
|
he asked. This dingo had no love for dogs and their soft ways, but like any canine with instincts he was drawn to some sort of pack. Did she not feel the same? A name. Finally a name blessed his ears that she had given him to call her by. At least he now had something to call her by, something to know is her name. He licked her ear playfully, “Diablo is mine.” Many found his name funny, especially the felines in town that came from down south. They would be perched up on their rooftops out of his reach and mock his name speaking their foreign tongue and laughing. Diablo's name was not of his choosing. It was given to him by his father who had heard the humans call his aggressive pup the name. He knew not what it meant but once the dingo had gotten into the real world he had learned how fitting it truly was. [/blockquote]

Golden eyes watched eagerly as the dingo shifted his body. The female could feel his flank lightly touch her own. She usually would have flinched but she didn't, it actually felt good. This was probably the most affection she had shown any canine since her family in Australia. If her tail could be beating any faster, it would be at this point. The male beamed with joy as he leaned against her and Billie couldn't help but do the same. The two canines were similar, not just because they were both dingoes either. Billie had never really felt so connected to a canine before and she like it, it was nice.
Shortly after mentioning the fact that she was a loner, the golden coated female noticed that it had puzzled the male slightly. “Lonely way to live, don'tcha think?” Her large ears twitched as she heard that question. She had never really thought of it in that way before but now that she thought about it more, the male was right. She did get lonely. "Well I have to admit, it does get lonely at times." Billie spoke slowly as she continued to think about the question. "But I've never really been part of a pack before. The largest group I've ever been part of was when I was with my father and my brother back in Australia so I guess I'm used to it." Glancing back up at the male, Billie just realized what she had said. She spoke about elements of her past, something she had never done with another canine before. It just proved how comfortable she felt around this male.
A gentle lick on the ear distracted Billie from her memories if she could, she might have actually blushed. “Diablo is mine.” Diablo. It was unusual name but it carried a sense of intimidation and power. Looking at the sandy ground for a moment, Billie lifted her body and returned the playful lick to the ear. She couldn't believe she had just done such an action but it felt right. Her tail continued to wag as she stared in to Diablo's golden eyes. "Diablo. I like it." She replied with a gentle bark.

Speech
Her warm flank against his own even in the heat was not an unpleasant feeling. It made him feel more connected to her, as if she were really there not just some figment of his imagination made by some funny colored mushroom he just so happened to eat and he didn't remember doing so. She was really here beside him, and he really did have another dingo at his side. Though this was such a happy moment Diablo could not help but wonder when it would end. When would she attack him, when would he over step a boundary he did not see, or he would find the catch? Diablo didn't know but he hoped it would wait just a little longer, give him a little more time to enjoy this.
Large ears perked toward her he listened to her speak. He hung on her every word and could not help but notice the thoughtfulness she held. I have to admit, it does get lonely at times. The words she admitted made Diablo's eyes soften. You have no idea how I feel. I feel the same, He thought looking at her with soft eyes. Loneliness was one pain this dingo could not endure. It ate at his soul and ripped him apart from the inside out. She was stronger then him. She could survive it. You will never be lonely again he made a silent promise to her.
Listening to her Diablo looked at her in surprise. She was from Australia? She was from where they all could be traced back to! He was born in a zoo to a mother and father who had been born in a zoo but his grandparents had been wild born. They had been brought in as a breeding pair for the zoo then others from breeding centers were brought in to fill out the pack. Billie was the purest of them.
A little switch flicked on in Diablo's head. He couldn't let her go. He had now found her, she was the best of them and he wasn't about to let her slip away from him. He had to go back to the pack and didn't expect her to come with him but he would visit her. Every day or every other day he would come to see her and he would make sure to find her. “I've always been in a large pack... I tried living on my own for a time but... Couldn't stand. So now I live with Tempest. I hate it but its better than being alone,” he admitted to her. He would tell the world he hated the Tempest pack but he never told people he lived with them because he couldn't stand to be alone. Yet here he was spilling bits of his soul to her for judgment.
“If your from Australia how did you get here?” He asked trying to shift the subject from himself. He was curious about her and wanted to know anything she was willing to give him.

The female thought that revealing such an important element of her past would feel uncomfortable for her, but it didn't. It actually felt right. Every minute Billie was with Diablo, she felt like she belonged to be here, with him. A warming feeling filled her and it was pleasant. Her tail wagged at a reasonably fast pace and her golden eyes beamed with excitement and content. She refused to pull her eyes away from the male that sat beside her, so close that their flanks were pressing against eachother.
Shortly after mentioning Australia, Diablo seemed surprised. Did her accent not make the whole fact obvious? Most canines didn't know about Australia but most picked up on her strong accent. To Billie's delight, Diablo's features radiated joy and pleasure, reassuring her slightly. It was at that moment she knew that she could trust this male. Billie had never felt so connected to a canine with such short time together but there was just something about Diablo. Maybe it was because he was a dingo, or because he was attractive, or just because he seemed to be perfect for her. Billie didn't want to leave this spot and leave the male she was with. She hadn't been this happy and this comfortable around another male. The only other male of her age she loved the company of was her brother.
“I've always been in a large pack... I tried living on my own for a time but... Couldn't stand. So now I live with Tempest. I hate it but its better than being alone,” The male had a point. Being in a pack was better than being alone but Billie just couldn't handle it all. She hated rules and the whole heirachy thing. She was a free gal and she wanted to stay that way. Life was sure to be easier in a pack but nah, it wasn't for Billie.
“If your from Australia how did you get here?” A sigh escaped her lungs as she thought about it. She hesitated to answer slightly but still wanted to answer. If it was any other canine she would have told them to keep their trap shut. "Humans." Was all she responded with to start with. "I was hunting alone and they just came at me with sticks. They forced me in to a box and when they finally opened it, I was here. I was at the zoo for a month or so, in something they called 'quarantine' but when all the humans died, I broke out and I've been wandering alone every since." Billie had never opened up and told the story of her past to anyone before but it was a nice feeling. It was like a weight was lifted from her shoulders and she could be honest with herself now. Glancing back up at the male, she hoped he wouldn't make a fuss about it. Yes it was harsh but it's just life.

Speech
Diablo of course had heard her accent but now days nobody watch accents and of course he didn't recognize it. He'd heard dogs with southern drawls, British, Spanish, French, and so many more accents but he didn't know them. The humans words at the zoo had been nothing more than white noise to him. Even through that their voices started to pick up on the accents of those around them. Though his grandparents had come from Australia, his parents and Diablo himself had been raised around the constant yammering of English speaking humans and so the voice stuck.
Still smiling like a fool with his tail thumping against the dusty ground Diablo was as chipper as he could be. Talking to her, getting to know her, becoming friends was exactly what he had hoped for. Yet as he listened to her Diablo could not help but note that a story would be expected in return. That was not what this had meant to start. Story sharing clearly was not this dingo's thing. Yet it wasn't fair to ask her about her past and not return at least a glimpse of his own. Letting dark secrets come to light in this unforgiving desert especially with Billie the one listening to them seemed like one of Diablos nightmares. Her past held nothing for her to be ashamed of. Sure humans had captured her but in no way was that a fault of hers. She was still wild bred and born. Diablo was neither.
He found shame in where he came from, he knew she would as well. After listening to her he looked down. “Humans... Play a large part in my past as well,” was all he gave her. How could he tell her more. Not once in his life, in all the years he had spent in the company of dogs and such has he ever even given a hint about the real truth of his past. A few times he had told people the rest of his pack had died because of humans but he never gave more details than that.
Eyes focused on the parched ground under his feet he glanced up at Billie with apologetic eyes. He hoped she understood. Diablo had just met her and he just couldn't spill out his secrets for her. Not yet.

The golden female watched the grinning dingo in front of her, a gentle smile on her features. She was happy, very happy in fact. She hadn't been this relaxed and comfortable in another canine's presence since Australia. There was just something about Diablo that she liked - alot. Tilting her head to the side, she pondered about what his past might have been like. She wouldn't usually speak about her own history like that and doing so made her want to know more about Diablo. She could tell straight away that he wasn't from Australia, despite his species but Billie didn't really mind that. She was just happy to know that there was another dingo in Hexasol.
“Humans... Play a large part in my past as well,” Diablo spoke slowly and in a quiet tone. Billie's ears twitched as he spoke and she longed to know more about his past but she could tell instantly that he wasn't comfortable speaking about it. His entire attitude to the response immediately let Billie know that he wasn't ready to talk about things just yet. She nodded her head in compassion, knowing exactly what he was trying to let her know. She thought hard about what she could ask to try and change the subject and make things less awkward.
Not really knowing what to say next, Billie did the next best thing that entered her mind. Lifting her head, she leaned towards Diablo and gave him a fond lick on the snout, adding compassion to the situation. "I understand." She spoke in slow, confident words before returning to her previous position. "Well I don't know about you, but I'm starving. Any chance you want a go hunting?" She added with a bit more enthusiasm to her voice. Her stomach had rumbled quietly and it was about time she got hunting again. She hadn't eaten for a few days and this would be a nice way to not only fill her belly, but grow even closer to the male dingo she was with.
