The female watched as her hunting partner took a few gentle steps towards their prize and lowered his head to take his first bite. Billie smiled softly to herself before licking up the remaining particles of blood from her muzzle. A crimson tinge was left on her snout but it would wear off in time, all she needed was a drink and she would be as pleased as punch. The likely hood of finding a pool of water out here though was almost impossible. Sighing softly, Billie glanced around in an attempt at distracting her from her thirst. Dingoes were able to go long periods without water so waiting a while wouldn't do any real harm.
As Diablo returned from his meal, Billie couldn't help but let a playful yip escape her throat as the male licked her head and muzzle. She hated to admit it but she was a ticklish canine. Giving the dingo a fond lick in return, Billie gazed over at the pig and noticed that he had much less than she had. She knew for a fact that she hadn't eaten that well for far too long but she wasn't sure when Diablo last ate. Anyway she was content and surprisingly pleased to be in the company of the male.
Diablo's words reached Billie's ears and instantly brought a grin on her face. Rolling on to her back beside him, she nodded her head and sighed contently. "It sure was." She agreed. "It's been a while since I've eaten that well." The female added with a gentle sigh. She was amazed at how comfortable she felt around Diablo just after a short hunt. It just goes to show that believe it or not, Billie could be friendly to another canine. Never did she think in a million years that she would have another dingo at her side. Even more unbelievable, that very dingo was a male. After the whole incident with the humans she presumed that the remaining dingoes in the zoo had died or had left the city, after all a city isn't really the place for a wild dog.

Speech
Diablo was happy, almost to happy by some standards but who cared? This was the first time he has been allowed to be happy in a really long time and he was going to enjoy it! Laying with his back in the dirt he looked up at the clear blue sky as happy as a clam. He let his golden paws stay in the air even though he knew how he looked. The great warrior of tempest looked like some puppy but the dogs of tempest would never see him this way. Only this woman, this creature of his own kind, would see him so free of cares.
Although his mind was raised on a cloud of a natural high thunder rolled. He had to go back. He belonged to that pack for the time being and a fight was brewing. He would leave, after the battle with Iris he would leave those damn dogs and go to live with Billie. They could make it out here, find a place to call theirs, he knew it!
Looking over at her with a soft smile slowly he rolled over and onto his feet. Gentle and careful Diablo put a fore paw over the other side of her neck on the ground so he hovered over her casting a shadow over her face. Leaning down he licked her forehead before pulling back to meet her gaze. “I have to go now... but I will be back,” he spoke in a whisper with a soft smile in his expression. If I live, he thought to himself.
Pulling away from her he did not wait for her to react or ask questions he just turned back toward the city and ran. He prayed she would not follow because he did not want her with those dogs. In truth he didn't want her around the male dogs, it would be a pity for such a marvel like her self to be tainted against her will. As he left he memorized her scent in his nose, he would remember it, he would find her again. Like that he was gone back to a world full of blood and rage.

A gentle and content sigh escaped the female's lungs as she closed her eyes. Right now she couldn't be happier. It had been a long time, an awful long time since she felt this comfortable in the presence of another canine and she wanted the feeling to last for as long as possible. Billie opened her golden eyes and turned to look at the dingo beside her. What she saw was quite an amusing sight. The male had his limbs in the air, giving him a pup-like appearance. She couldn't help but giggle as she watched him with fond eyes.
Billie rolled round so she was now laying down in a normal canine position, a playful grin still plastered on her features as she laughed. It was nice knowing that a fellow canine felt comfortable around her. "You really are one of a kind." She thought to herself. Not every dog would find it necessary to roll around on their back after a meal. It was good knowing though that Diablo wasn't like other males. It made him different and not all cliche like some of them.
When Diablo spoke, Billie's eyes grew wide. Feeling his paw on her neck made her smile temporarily but her face change to shock as she watched the male turn and run. He left her no time to question him or even say goodbye. If it wasn't for the male saying he would be back, Billie would have been devastated. Of course she was a bit disappointed but at least he would be returning. "Goodbye Diablo." She muttered to herself as she shuffled to her paws and released a long howl as the male ran. She wanted nothing more than to race after him but she knew it would due no good. He was already far away and the chances of her catching up to him would be slim. And what exactly did she plan on saying to him if she did catch him?
Billie sighed softly and continued to watch as Diablo ran and as soon as he was out of sight, she turned around and glanced back at the pig the two had hunted together. Sighing again, she made her way over to a small bush just a few feet away and flopped down beside it. She thought over and over again whether or not Diablo was a man of his word, and he wasn't just using her so he could get a quick meal. He said he would return though and that's what Billie expected. When he did so was another question. She would just have to sit and wait and hopefully she will see the male again.
THREAD END.
